My 50kg (110lbs) Bicep Curls

Спорт

I'm going to be uploading more and more content from my training now that I have a quality gym to train at, with ultimate goal of competing one last time (potentially).
The plan - at 37 years old, I can't train balls to the wall anymore, instead I've had to completely rethink my training, asses my physique and act accordingly. This doesn't mean that I wont be pushing sets to failure, far from it actually, instead it means that I will be using failure sets far more precisely and using multiple rep ranges along the way.
I already have clients using this training method and they are loving it, so I will be documenting as much of the process as I can. So bear with me, follow along and if there are any particular videos you want to see along the way, feel free to comment and I will do my best to get back to you and make it happen.
You can follow my coaching channel (if you want) on insta @staplehurstcoaching
As a final note as to why I'm doing this, it's really because I'm so thankful that I found bodybuilding, it's given me a purpose, a goal and a lifestyle that I absolutely adore, I wouldn't change it for the world.......oh and some first place trophies too. I truly believe if more people learned the basics of bodybuilding, the world would be a better, happier and healthier place.

I just started doing BB curls as ive always stuck to dumbells and preacher curls. Whats your opinion on cheating? What do you think is an acceptable amount, would you do it every set or just your last set etc.

Personally mate I try to aim for 8-10 reps with near perfect form, from there, do as many cheat reps as you can until the negative portion of the rep is basically exhausted and you can’t control the weight down anymore. One thing I have noticed recently is that my arms are responding way better to slightly higher reps (10-12’s) rather than 6-8 and ideally with constant reps, so no breaks in between reps, until you need a break for the cheat reps.

@@pstaplehurst legend mate. I do tend to stop and rest the weight on my thighs about 3/4 of the way through the set but I know ultimately its going to reduce time under tension so il drop the weight and to keep a more constant TOT. Absolutely love your physique btw, i''ve told you this before but always come back to your videos and are blown away by the overall development but specifically your back and arms are amazing.
