Hi, I'm Mark Serbu, lifelong gun nut, degreed mechanical engineer, gun designer, founder and owner and president of Serbu Firearms, Inc. I'm also a pretty decent self-taught TIG welder, machinist, CNC programmer and assembly guy. I'm trying to teach the basic principles of firearm design and engineering (which apply to ALL product design and engineering), including mechanisms, materials, heat treat, stresses, math, etc. Thanks for stopping by!

OH I’m DEFINITELY gonna Get one of these 👌🤟✊
Hi Mark, that first czech small arms receiver, I noticed on that website they also sell barreled "headspaced" receivers... I'm confused, how can they sell it as such if they dont have the customer's bolt? I voiced my concerns and they said it isnt headspaced like an AK? Is that true? Also, would the mean you can swap bolts between guns?
Landstad 1900 is the one you want for slide plus cylinder
Where are the best STL files for guns?
Why were going to town?
The button should be revolving at the twist rate so there would be no friction
@ValMartinIreland You don't think there's any friction when pushing a tungsten carbide rifling button through an undersized hole in very strong alloy steel?
At 14:29 it appears you are pushing the swagging tool through backwards. The sizing bulge should go first, enlarging the bore diameter to the correct size. By pushing it through backwards the grooves are actually being cut deeper than they should as the bore is slightly undersized. Heating the barrel may also be required.
@terryvickers5986 Sorry, but no, no, no and no.

So that's what the combine in half life 2 throws in the ground for lighting
I like your post on the super thirty carry federal. I purchase one from grab asking price two ninety eight with a fifty dollar rebate from smith and wesson. I love all my nine millimeters but i'm getting very comfortable carrying the thirty super carry. I mean, you can't beat. The price comes already cut for optic and has nightsights. I've been taken into the range with several of my 9 millimit is I just like the way it punches holes in the target.I love the sixteen plus one. Ammunition is expensive , but who goes to that range every day. I should want a month and I can afford that. I just wish we could get some more support out there and bring the price of ammunition down. Appreciate. Your outlook on the super thirty. I've been carrying a nineteen eleven forty five a c p since I was twenty one years old. I know. That's my song crazy. But the super thirty carrie seems to be more accurate and if this is right flatter , shooting than a nine millimeter. I sure hope they keep the ammunition coming.I'm trying to buy two boxes every month. Once again. I want to thank you for being so honest
Friggen Hysterical, Caffeine, Cocaine, LSD, Heroin!
The answer to the question no one has.
Good enough for the girls I date. 🤣😂😂😂🤣😂
La seul petoir qui peut tirer juste en tombant par terre
The dwell might actually slow down the cyclic rate to make it more controllable.
The dwell in the cam is probably to allow the bolt carrier to build up momentum as they probably dropped weight in it to make the weapon lighter.
I swear to god I thought you were going to turn that without a center. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Very good self defense is law for you and family. Just defense
Working on a semi auto .50 myself. Thanks for the knowledge.
How much do those Huntsman go for
Part 2!
For the frame to partial over slide, pin it by the trigger guard. Trigger use a hybrid sig 1911 style trigger system. I like modifying existing designs because it is much harder to reinvent the wheel.
It would look nice with a tesla truck
Could you put a slide in a slide to match the frame round. That would solve 2 of your problems. You could even do a partial sleeve to the slide like a model 92. If it raises in the front and back, you have sights and pin it to the frame to attach & hold it all together.
06:40 i think that hole was wrong, just because you've the plane not at ZERO°, you was at 5° or more of inclination and the drill was offset
I gotta say, when I first saw you pecking away with the screwdriver and the ball peen hammer I was like oh great, another you tube yahoo who thinks he’s got skills ha! 😂 I almost shit canned it but stayed and I’m glad I did. Can’t wait for part dux! Liked and subscribed sir! 🇺🇸💪👊
Integral suppressor…?
3:53 the laser sounds like some middle-easter or indian folk-music lol
Thanks or this video. I'm considering buying one of these but I can't find any spare parts anywhere. Do you know where spare parts can be found. I'm not even finding them at the JTS website.
Making a free derringer is getting expensive.😅
Mark why don't you invest in a small welding turntable? A rotator? Would make a much quicker, nicer job.
How about an internal hammer like a 1907 I know it's a cheap brand but how about say like Hi-Point or lorcin
Oops that looks like an internal hammer sorry commented to quickly 😢
The design and manufacture will be simplified if two square pipes are used. Just try it. The upper pipe is movable, the lower one is fixed. The main return spring is located in the lower pipe.
It looks like you slid the mandrel in with the Tapped hole on the wrong end!
6:49 it was probably modeled off of an airsoft mag. A SURPRISING amount of online gun content is by and for larpers in europe and asia who use stupidly accurate and realistic airsoft replicas. I remember hearing about it several times through my childhood and into my teenage years of kids getting in trouble for having an airsoft gun bc, upon import to the states, the ATF realizes they're so well built all it takes is a few more parts and maybe a little filing and you have a working firearm. I've been tricked by videos up until literally the point they show the tip of the cartridge or disassemble the bolt or slide into thinking this airsoft gun is an actual pew pew. Crazy stuff
You should make jigs for parts kits
There’s much worse machine guns than that. Probably for more money. You’re not helping yourself by ripping on him. Arrogant old man. What comes around goes around
You got a whole lot of more cred with me when you did the focus you f**k, with AvE.
Looks like a really interesting project .
Instead of adding a separate ejector, why not make it as an additional bend on the sheet metal. You would just have to treat it after machining/bending. On the slide removal, if the front bearing cap is threaded/removable, then you should have the clearance where you would not need to enlarge the bottom slot, as you would be lifting the slide from the rear and pivoting upwards and forward. The minimum amount of slotting would be required.
Awesome video, and what a big project! For most of us, this is way over our heads from a skills and repair standpoint, but I'm looking forward to follow on videos 👍 Awesome work so far!
put some advanced mates on there!!!
You should make a non suppressed version of the veterinary pistol vp9 where the magazine is the grip
On the front of the barrel
Snap ring
Got mine $199
w/ 50rds this challenges p-90 dominance as it's shorter/lighter, easier reload, simpler (reliability), etc. could even upgrade to 5.7
now for .44magnum, can we add a gas system from the area the slug rests in chamber, like the Deagle? and add rotating locking barrel. Either deagle mag or single stack design by you (for slimness of profile). correction: must be fixed barrel, so need a locking design breakthrough to keep it glock sized
What's better, push rifling or pull rifling?
Do you have to stress relieve the barrels after?
