.50 BMG vs Termite Mound-Extended Version!!
When in South Africa, kill termites! I'll admit it...this video was all about indulging my inner, destructive kid. Like a commenter said on my other gun channel, "The kid with the magnifying glass and the ant hill has grown up!" Funny analogy and completely true. I DID spend time burning ants with a magnifying glass as a kid. Anyway, I was surprised how little damage was done to the mound with 3 rounds of .50 BMG. But I was pleasantly surprised how well the muzzle blast did! Many thanks to Crusader Safaris for this fantastic adventure!

Yea.... I'd be pretty upset if a guy spilled his drink in my truck and recorded me as I cleaned up his drink. 😉
I guess hide behind a termite mound if you're getting shot at.
Never get between a South African and his Landcruiser 🤣

That man’s reaction to being upset over the spilled drink and being filmed is mild to how I would have been with a camera in my face being laughed at ! Clearly that vehicle is his office and his means of supporting his family! He’s concerned about lasting damage like smells and or ants or bees being attracted to the scent !
I love the chunky metal sounds when you're charging it sounds great and satisfying!

Lol...I'd be mortified after spilling a drink but Mark is having a laugh. Well, he's the one with the 50 BMG.
They were saying "crazy damn Americans" in Zulu.
Thank you for having the text on screen long enough for my slow reading ass to get through.

Termites: Existing in home. Some guy with a gun: Hahaha 50BMG goes brrr!
That termite mound ate those shots.
In my younger days I was a gamekeeper in Scotland. I had similar interactions with deerstalker clients. Not the best smell for the summer. Though I did see the funny side at the finish of the hunt, the extra handshake of thier appreciation did assist in seeing the funny side but seriously my good man,Drink fruit juice, nothing better than flies/wasps and all manner of biting/stinging creatures to make a man appreciate "Balieys"🏴🤣😃👍🏻🏴
Rad is absolutely brilliant in his handling of the situation. 😄
They say termites cannot see. Those cannot hear anymore either...

It's crazy, come back in a few days and that mound will be rebuilt. BTW, Mark they probably call you "Mlungu".
They're still alive with that muzzle blast, crazy.
Thanks, Mark 👍
😂Hearing Alvin the chipmunk say "wow these termites just had a bad day" had me dying 😂

Great video Mark keep up the great work six stars brother

DUDE!!! The slo mo wheezing!!😂😂😂
I cringed while watching the termite explode from the muzzle blast overpressure, thinking about how much abrasive grit was hitting your scope objective!
I guess the bonus footage begins at 11:49 but I could be wrong. Love your videos!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
@markserbu Is it possible to order the non-gas system BFG 50 in the US?
For anyone wondering we are allowed to own semi auto rifles in SA and no mag or barrel length restrictions. A straight pull is just far easier to license than a semi auto

That firearm is a work of art… and it sounds beautiful. I’ll never have the money to purchase one… but I’ve always dreamed of owning one of your rigs. Maybe some day.
Dam, wish I had known you would be here. I'm an armourer , we could have had some fun with what I have at my disposal. Look me up if you come again, we will make a plan.
Dont make SAffer man angry. We already angry enough living here LOL
Being a South African, I can say that is not even a really large termite mound. They get MUCH MUCH bigger than that!
Hey Mark, when I first saw this I misread it as "Thermite Mound". Curious, I was wondering if you had ramped up production as the waiting times are lower. How bad is Johannesburg? A buddy of mine was there last Summer and he said the city is falling apart and it's like a bunch of ruins.
Enemy fortification pulverised by BMG
@markserbu Hey Mark, you said that your guides were speaking Zulu. Were your hunting trips anywhere in the vicinity of Isandlwana or Rorke's Drift? Two significant military engagements took place there during the start of the Anglo-Zulu War in 1879. The Battle of Isandlwana was the first time that a modern army suffered a catastrophic defeat at the hands of an indigenous force. The Memorial at Isandlwana is someplace I'd like to visit one day.
That Landcruiser needs a video
I don't know man, I probably wouldn't be able to make comments about how people use machetes for so many various things over there.
Thanks, such a cool video! Can you give us an idea, of what you’re after? ( without the Internet, losing their minds.)
Google says that termite mounds are termite saliva, poop and clay. That's some tough shit.
Helldiver uses antimaterial rifle to destroy terminid bug hole
We all win when gun designers let their invasive thoughts win 😂
I'd be more curious about a small python being inside the mound than termites. Sometimes they will go in them apparently.

Surely you import them to Australia even a lever release version for our market would be an interesting experiment.
Those ants built their houses with 50 cal in mind.
Theoretically, there should be more energy in the muzzle blast than the projectile. Good demonstration of that.
That BMG will be properly cleaned after this journey
Florida man in sa doing FL man stuff. Take the man out of fl cant take fl out of the man.
Just order a replacement inner door panel......... hes happy, you're not a marked man....... lols

Nah, I've seen Barret 82's for sale here, I'm guessing he made it manually operated just to get it licensed easier.
Hey Mark, can you make the same gun for CONNECTICUT? AKA STATE COMPLIANT MODEL?? I'd love to have this but with an eaiser way to charge the rifle. In CT we can own this configuration as long as ita not semi auto. Or just make it an optional add on. Idk just a thought. May open up a few markets you dont have access to now.
I love that sound
Hello from Detroit Michigan brother thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise and for taking us on your adventures through firearms I have a question for you. I have a 1918 BAR and it is a paperweight. I'm assuming non-functioning receiver. What can I do with it?

What about .50 BMG against Vegemite? We have badger mounds here.
Termites seem to handle pressure well.
Im from South Africa, wish i could meet you .
Be sure to pop in to safari outdoor Stellenbosch if you're passing through there
I wish you would have shown a better view of the back side of the mound. But it looks like it might be possible to hide behind one of taking fire especially from smaller caliber projectiles.
Wow 😮
putting the "brown" back into Browning
HI mark, i wonder what you think of this half baked, meth head like idea.. place two p90 mags on each side of a downward ejecting carbine (ejecting downward behind feed). Basically a P180.. shoot one mag, pickup selector switches, shoot the other while reloading the first. SUPPRESSIVE FIREEEEEE!!!! 😂
@Watchdog_McCoy_5.7x28
4 ай бұрын
I thought about something similar that feeds from one mag then the other in an alternating fashion.
Probably legal in the UK and Australia, though I doubt the latter would allow importation
Would you do one in 416 Barret to make it Australia legal?

We are aloud to have Semi Auto rifles in south africa...Wonder if it is just the 50 bmg that is no allowed as Semi auto
did you at least tell them your name is on their rifle?
I can side with the PH. I had a guy that used to ride with me that would try to bring coffee with that nasty smelling flavored creamer. I always wondered if anyone has ever taken an elephant with a .50 BMG?
