Chronograph and the .45s
I finally got a decent chronograph and I decided to test it out a bit tonight, and put the cameras on it so you could see, too. This video is definitely in the "phone it in" category, but I hope you like it in spite of my minimal effort. ;-)

The polygonal rifling in Glocks lets a just a bit of the gas blow past the bullets. Always love seeing oddball firearms. The odder, the better.

And thats why Polygonal Barrels Always have higher velocities over conventional rifled barrels. Plus the barrel lasts longer.

I have spent 50 years collecting strange gun stuff, only to have law changes penalise me for it in my country ! So much for trying to preserve History !

I gotta tell you that Serbu is top-notch in products, sales, and service! My interaction with them has been nothing but a pleasure. Keep up the great work!
The technique alone is impressive. Both eyes open, handling the recoil on each gun like a true gun almond.

The almond is not a /true nut/.
Hammer bite is very common with the standard grip safety. That's why so many install the "ducktail" safeties.

I think most people call them beaver tail safeties -- duct tail is a hair cut, LOL.
.50CalVal Please make videos again! Love Mark's stuff but he nailed it! You Rock!

Got that bite sometimes from an ol'relic 1911 leaning towards the cause likely being these big meat mittens disguised as hands.. Nice to see you Mark ya ol'nut...
Great video with no frills. The German made 22 was odd for sure. It has an extractor similar to the single shot bolt action my dad had as a kid. It was a ''Geco Carabiner" patent date 1912 if my memory is correct. Dad said it shot harder than any 22 he ever used including the Win 63 he bought new in 1946. I always thought we should get it out and see how deep a bullet really goes.
The unusual amuses because it jiggles the brain off the tracks of the "normal".
Love the old Yeungling sign on the wall! Damn I wish I could get it on the west coast 😢. 🍻
About pointing a p tool at the director, they actually like it. It is a very exhilarating, once in a lifetime experience!
People are mentioning the polygonal barrels in Glock, but also... The 1911's are 5" barrels, the Glock is 4.6", im not sure about the revolver, but looks to be 5 or 6". Obviously the longer barrels will have greater ballistics.
PERFECT! Siting at my bench doing some gunsmithing while watching a fellow gun nut, life is good!
I love weird guns. I own an original 1960's Rem. XP 100, 2 Armalite AR 7's (is that Assault Rrifle 7? ) and a few orphan "saturday night specials". I was hoping to someday get ahold of an original Liberty .45, and maybe a Gyrojet.

Ha. Alex Baldwin gun... Classic.
Both eyes open and no squinting. That’s impressive. I only own one 1911 and it’s the only 1911 I’ve shot, but I have never had hammer bite with it. Love the G21.
Yes love those weird and odd ball guns. Big fan of innovation and new stuff. Love to see someone come up with a single shot .22 pistol you could build yourself from a kit like a CVA black powder gun. 🤪
a straggly placed band-aid works for me.
Spectacular views of the city, I’ll bet it gets rather warm there in the summer. One state I really want to visit.
That's why I reload myself for consistency and knowing what is in my round thanks for sharing this six stars
I love a unique functional firearm. I love old European target pistols and combination hunting rifles.
I am HIGHLY disappointed that you did not go over the chronograph results using a whiteboard while standing in a field.

That chronograph is pretty cool
That's why God invented beaver-tail grip safties, Mark... cut out the hammer bite! Why they modified the 1911 to the "A-1" version...didn't help me, so I put a Commander hammer and beavertail on my M-1927 Argentine .45. The early style, before the "memory bump" on the bottom of the safety...works fine, doesn't bite me any more...
It's your gun, put a grinder to it if you want! 😂😂
I didnt see you pull the trigger on that Baldwin gun. It muat be able to fire by itself.
I'm probably one of those guys that really dig old and wierd guns.
Well done, Mr Serbu. Pilot and gun nut, designer...
I kinda like hearing that old cylinder spin, said the alpha male to the beta male. lol
LOVE THE 45
❤The face of the bullet trap would be just like conveyer belt like what they use in the mining industry ,,i know the mines have thousands of miles a year that has to be changed out with new belt before it gets to thin and always wondered what could be done with the scrap ,,like the targets you can shoot and repaint repeat.
Whoa that .22 rifle is trippy!
Yes I absolutely love bizarre and obscure firearms 👍
Sounds like your pistols have the Man From UNCLE treatment. 🙂
The odd stuff is the best. Not going to lie, I clicked because I thought there was a 45 gb22 on the table.
Love the .45
I’m here for the gun nut stuff!!!!😊
I'd really like a fairly priced reproduction of a Remington Rolling Block in a bunch of pistol and rifle calibers.
Internal ballistics for pistol calibers, especially lower pressure rounds, hinges on the first fraction of an inch of bullet movement. Many low pressure rounds fail to ignite all propellant due to low pressure. Pressure and heat are synonymous. Without pressure over 35 ksi, there will be unburned granules. This is why bullet setback can cause over pressure in pistols where it usually reduces pressure in rifle.
I have very large hands, and I can't shoot a 1911 without a beaver tail grip safety or a BHP without getting hammer bite.
#1 alecb did not pull the trigger. Actors don't lie! #2 A thousand people tried to get the rev tool to fire on it's own and turns out it only can be controlled by the mind of alecb. Pointing hand tools at the director is normal! #3 spinning the cylinder causes premature finish wear but who wants a brand new tool anyway? Have a mechanic buddy who carries always. He bought a polymer 80 for his g-machine because the right side of the grip wore through from him dragging himself on concrete under vehicles.
Have fairly small hands, but got bit by the 1911 often enough 50+ years ago when I was shooting in competition that I cut a slot in grip safety and added an extension.
I have a fixed cylinder/loading gate 22LR like that 45 revolver. I shoot it every once in a while. Cool gun but it takes a little while to load and unload.
Have you tried a .460 Rowland conversion upper from Clark on one of those 1911 pistols? I love mine!
We miss you Val, come back to your channel 💔
If the wheelgun is a Colt clone...then the cylinder will align with the gate by just spinning it past then back and the hand will catch it in just the right place to punch out the empty. Can do it blindfolded. Wondering what ammo was being used? Over 1000 fps is high for 230 ball while the Glock numbers more in line with what we see most of the time though high 800's still up there for 230's. Maybe the Tisas is really tight bored? Would be curious to see the empties and how the primers look. I've had a tight chambered pistol here and there that would show pressure with ammo that didn't in every other gun and corresponding higher velocity. Good to see a Serbu video come up!
i was expecting more of this video
Mr Serbu I love strange items! I've been in the presence of strange things and I love every one of them even if they aren't good. The pinching is a thing on certain firearms -- depending on how much recoil and how big your fingers are. Gloves are A O K. How do you feel about serialized ammunition?
Is the Deutschewerke Mod 1 really that weird? I've been seeing them more and more. Wish I could find one in that shape. Ortgies made some neat stuff.
Thanks again
0:30 Had one in the family from the grands.
Was looking at that very unit from Brownells a couple of hours ago, coincidence or?

If you go back in Mark's videos he has one about the trap.
What if you miss the bullet trap? It doesn't look like you have much of a back stop?
Glocks have the wrong rifling :)
Nice chronograph, Glock chamber seems loose to me and not being fully supported might be reason for lower velocity. Looks like bullet trap has been hit on the frame several times, how many holes do you have in the wall?
I'd love to have one of those 22 rifles.
Whats the make of the 22 Rifle ? I need one....
Woah 😳
I keep meaning to rry one of those labradars. Changing how you hold the 1911 should eliminate the hammer bite.
Those chrony's are pretty cool! Did Valerie forward you my email about a .50 insert for the 12 gauge idea?
Love strange guns.
🤘🥳🤘
What ammo You use in that clip ?
Bullet trap is a strange sound haha
I want to chrono the ar45 I built. the bolt and barrel are cmmg's rotary delay blowback. 10" barrel. Probably the highest velocity you will ever see a .45acp go.
Long time no see, Mark Serbu.
oh you got a labradar! Edit: never mention a certain musician :V

The CZ P10 pistols do the same to me. Everyone's hands are different!
G21 has shorter barrel than gvt model? 🤷🏻♂️
Yeah, Glocks, slightly over bored, slightly over chambered to enhance reliability, not accuracy. They're kinda like 10-22's, a great platform that needs a bunch of aftermarket parts to get them where they should be (I've a 10-22 that now shoots dime sized groups at 60yds) . Glock owners accept that, sadly. I consider Glocks to be very good 15 yd guns with a weird grip angle. Get yourself a .45 ACP with a good beavertail, you'll never worry about hammer bite and because of that, your accuracy will improve.
I've changed to cut rifled barrels in all my Glocks, much better accuracy than standard factory rifling.
I need a better chrono. I want that bullet seeker mach4
❤❤❤ yummy ❤❤❤
I dunno... Magnetospeed seems to work ok for me. And lot cheaper than LabRadar... Shifts POI though...

Apperently muzzle blast to the operational panel and display screen is not a thing.

Not familiar with that flavor of .22 rifle. Is it unusual enough for Gun Jesus to do a video on it? I haven’t fired a 1911 in maybe forty years. Didn’t pinch me then, but I had and still have lean, bony hands.
