Order 42 was originally conceived by Chancellor Palpatine in the registry of training directives for the clone army utilized by the Galactic Republic. This directive stated that one should immerse one's self in the creative and artistic endeavours of all member planets of the Republic to promote understanding and perspective.
This order proved so useful, especially in wartime, that Grand Admiral Thrawn, then a Lieutenant at the Royal Imperial Academy, adopted Order 42 as a cornerstone of his military strategies.
Um...yeah, I just made that up.
Order 42 is simply about friends discussing movies, tv shows, video games...basically life, the universe...everything.
The live show takes place twice a week on twitch.tv/order42show.

Its been free on Tubi. Its still on there whoever wanna check it out
Like I said before, alot of people have not seen the Original Conan the Barbarian, it is still hard to get!James Earl Jones is absolutely brilliant in this movie!!! His performance alone is worth the watch!!! Another Fantasy movie you should watch is LEGEND isn't that directed by one of your favourite directors!?
Yeah, I reviewed it!
This one used to piss me off because i didn't understand why it wasn't a true sequel to Desperado which in my opinion is one of the best action movies ever made. I didn't like all the changes and that they killed off Salma Hayek. I kinda like it a little more today but its NOT Desperado.
I haven’t watched it in years…probably since I bought the DVD! I’ve seen Desperado MANY times, though.
I think you were referring to Jamie Campbell Bower's altercation with Kevin Costner. He was incredible. I have been trying to find a whole clip of that event but have not found it!! Also been looking for clips of Hayes Costner's role. Who was the boy on the hill during indian village massacre? Great production by Costner and I look forward to Saga 2...but give me scenes and actors names.
I’m not sure who the boy was…but yes, I was referring to JCB! I just didn’t want someone who hasn’t seen it to be spoiled in any way! I’m really excited to see Part 2. What did you mean by “scenes and actor’s names”?
The erasure of Kirk....
Erasure...?
It's also the movie that saved the franchise back when it was about to be shelved since the motion picture didn't do very well. Yeah R.I.P James Horner. He made some of my favorite movie soundtracks.
Amazing stuff. I was too young to appreciate his work!
F the haters.... Some people are gonna hate it just because it's Costner. Like he is some poster child for the right or something? It's a movie, and a damn good one at that.
I really feel that many people that would enjoy this movie either are not accustomed to going to the theater anymore or don’t want to sit for three hours in the theater. I think it will find its audience, I just hope that it’s successful enough to allow him to finish them!
I don’t know the best way to message you so I will just do it here. First of all I just wanted to say I LOVE your channel and second I know you do fan edit reviews and I’ve done a couple interesting ones. The first is a cut of the hobbit trilogy (I know another one but hear me out) all the cuts I’ve seen are 3 and a half to 4 and a half hours and mine is even closer to the book and only 2hr 45 minutes in length and the other is a cleverly cut kind of different PG-13 cut of Deadpool (2016) i know you likely you won’t review it (it would be the coolest thing ever if you did though) but I would at least like to send you them i just don’t know where to do it. Either way awesome channel keep up the great work and let me know. 🙂
I appreciate the kind words! My email is on my about page and my Twitter and Discord links are in every description. I did address fan-edit reviews on a recent video (that not many people watched!) Basically, I’ve been stepping away from reviews of those simply because they’re so subjective, and it’s become more promotional in nature.
@@order42showoh ok would you still watch it and let me know what you think?
You can definitely send it to my email or message me on Twitter/X or Discord - I have some in the queue that I haven't watched yet. My recommendation though, is get in with some of the fan-edit communities out there, like on Reddit or on fanedit.org. Not only will you get feedback from some of the best editors out there, but there are people that are hungry for them!
@@order42show oh yeah I’ve been on Reddit for a couple years now and I’m on a different fan edit site briefly
Its an excellent start to this epic series but you have to be patient and let the stories unfold and thats what chapter 2 is for and it seems thats where the action is too...i hope Kevin Costner will cast Clint Eastwood and Kim Coates in up coming chapters..Keep making em and the public will keep seeing em...dont understand the bad reviews as they just don't understand the premise of it all
Yeah, I mean…it does feel like a movie made in the 70s/80s. Maybe the pace is what people don’t like. I’m curious how well it will do when it comes to streaming - since it’s a longer film, maybe people are turned off by that. Fingers crossed!
@order42show ..yess,seems like people like the quick cuts, with non stop in your face action loaded with CGI...NOW that is really boring!!
I want to see it. A little worried that part 1 isn't doing well and whether he finishes it out is concerning.
Oh, I know! I’ve kept an eye on it, and yeah, I’m a bit worried. I’m wondering how much of that original budget transfers over to part two, because it appears they were shot at the same time…and hopefully it’s a hit when it hits streaming. Who knows?!
Saw it & ❤ it.. can't wait for chapter 2
Me, too! Really excited to see what's in store...just hope they make enough money to make all 4.
It was an ok movie for the time. Even though it barely made a profit in theaters and not much at that. I understand it's become a bit of a cult classic to some. For me, though, it needs to remain where it was made in the 90s. So it's a no for me but I hope others who liked it when it came out still do today..
Wow, really? For me, this hit hard back then, and is still really funny now. I didn't actually see it in theaters but watched it a ton back in the day.
Remember..the big fat world don't own you a thing🎉. Show them what you have in yourself...GO WITH THE FLOW🎉😢
🙏
And..I am always on your side...You are the best actor..better than the rest🤠
Did you get the memo
I didn’t finish my TPS report…!
Was a great film I loved it . Chapter 1 kind of gives it away that there are more films to follow
True, but even when it comes to seasons of a TV show, there’s still some resolution at the end, and I honestly think that most critics (and some viewers) don’t like the way this ended, where it just sort of…ends. I’m perfectly fine with however the story is told, and I feel like this is the “Act 1”, the introduction. Really glad you enjoyed it!
😂😂 when dude turns the volume down in traffic
There’s so much greatness in this movie, and so quotable!
Good review! I really dig your Alucard comparison (now I can’t un-see it), and now I wanna visit Utah! 😄 I watched this film with a friend. I enjoyed the movie, but methinks you and my friend liked it a little more than I did, which is cool. But even I have to say, that trailer in the end got both of us pumped, and he and I vowed on the spot to watch Chapter 2, come August! 😄
Thanks! Yeah, you’re the first person to mention Alucard! 😁 I’m glad to hear that you liked it…and yeah, Utah is really really nice, so I highly recommend it!
Great review. Agree that the western is a treat. The way I looked at it the main character is actually the old west.
Not a bad way to look at it! I just found it really nice the way the story unfolds, and I felt at ease with Costner’s direction. Thanks for the kind words!
Dude! Saw it today. I was enthralled with this movie!!! I can't wait for part 2! Loved the characters and scenery. I wish Jamie was in it more but saw that the motivation to move the story was the reason.
Oh, you and me both - Jamie had such charisma that I just wanted more. But yeah, the movie really worked for me! That shot of Kevin on the horse at the end got me pumped!
Loved it. I will definitely be going to see part two.
I love to hear that!
Totally agree. I'm down for all four parts. So is my wife, who ordinarily is not a huge Western fan. We had a blast the next day talking about how much we loved it and trying to guess what might be ahead.
Love to hear it! So excited to watch the next part.
@kawedel yess,,it takes time to tell a good story,,especially with several different stories going on..people have to be patient as you can't expect quick results with good stories with all the questions answered right away..The movie does end with wanting more..I could have sat there and watched another 3 hours
Lousy character development. Movie not good. Don't waste your time. Three hours you'll never get back
I mean…that’s your opinion, and you’re welcome to it. I’d like more original, on-location movies, so I’m all for it!
I hate to say it but it's an example of the fact that 2/3 of the population are thick, dumb and complete morons if they can't grasp another Lord of The Rings film series in scope then they shouldn't be standing up, let alone going to a movie. Hopefully there is enough people out there who do have enough brains to see a real film not Hollywood BS woke PC garbage. You have to admire the balls on Costner for putting not only his money where his mouth is, but hopefully, if he gets to make all 4 just how powerful cinema can be done right. Some of us are rooting for him and if the critics can shut up long enough we can silent all the nay sayers that it's flawed etc...rubbish, people are just used to watered dumb-downed cinema.
So right off the bat I just have to say that it’s not “missing from the marketing” at all. It’s on every single poster and in every trailer. In every piece of press for the film the fact that it is a 4-part episodic series is talked about. Every poster for the film says “chapter 1 June 28th chapter 2 August 16th”. It’s been very clearly spelled out. That being said, this is a great review. You really understood the movie.
But, people don’t pay attention! And from my experience, people SURELY don’t read. So, I guess what I was trying to do was just point that out for people who were curious but hadn’t seen anything about it. But thank you for the kind words!
Peak cinema that deserved a sequel.
Wow, so you REALLY liked it! Gonna have to revisit…
@@order42show Kinda? Part of the love is out of irony, and the other's out of nostalgia. Genuinely think they could've made a full franchise out of this though.
Ah, well…still, many have said that they really enjoyed it. I might have ignored it for too long.
@@order42show Ah okay, feel free to rewatch fam. It's a trip, I'll tell you that much.

Saw it Tuesday night with my girlfriend and my oldest son (9) I liked it my son liked it , said he was definitely down for part two opening day.
Nice! I really hope that the word of mouth continues to spread!
I saw it. Epic!
I’m glad you enjoyed it! Actually…I’m just glad you saw it (didn’t do too well at the box office).
❤
😊
Your review was so positive that now I want to see the movie.
Well, I certainly hope I haven’t oversold it! If you enjoy westerns and are comfortable with the fact that this is just a beginning, I think you’ll enjoy it.
I’m a Costner fan and a western fan and I loved every second of this movie. It flies by doesn’t seem 3 hrs at all. Kev doesn’t appear until an hour in but all the other characters are so compelling it doesn’t matter. Stunning movie and a fabulous score. Can’t wait for part 2!
Yes! I keep thinking about it. Like a great book, almost - you want to keep reading! I’m really hoping that it finds its audience, because I agree that it’s brilliant.
It's a good for a modern day ninja movie
Yeah, I should try it again. It’s been so long that I don’t really have any notion of whether it was good or not!
I am a big western fan. enjoyed horizon wil be going to see again. but in a different light. 1st episode of a possible 4 episodes. being a member of cineworld i whatch it 1st on members night. now realised Costner was trying to introduce the players to give an insight for the story. it's not easy now i realise a story with a possible 12 hours running time to get all the intended story in 180m. looking forward to part. 2 in August having seen the trailer at the and of pt 1 i think you should rate a movie of this scale on the finished product. seeing a second time I will enjoy even more it's going to be epic.
Well, I think that’s why a lot of critics didn’t really like the movie - it doesn’t really end with the typical wrap-up that most movies do. Knowing that was what I was in for, I was ready for it, and enjoyed it immensely. At this point, we’re guaranteed part 2 - beyond that is sort of up in the air, and it might depend on how both movies are received, so I’m actually kind of nervous! I want to see the whole story!
I like the movie but I know that it was part 1 of 4. I looked at it like a novel. Unfortunately the average movie watcher does not have the ability to watch a movie that is just setting up the remaining 3 movies. If this would have been setup as a made for tv mini series the complaints would not be happening and people would be raving about it.
Well, true, but then the movie wouldn’t have the production value it has. Fact is, this was extremely risky across the board, and time will tell if it’s a success. Either way, I’m really enjoying it and I hope more people give it a chance!
I agree the silver screen makes it much better. It’s just the average person I don’t think can understand it.
Yeah, and that’s why I was trying to say early in my review (as many people as it might reach) that it’s just the first part of a larger story, and to just let things flow!
James Russo was awesome as the store clerk
Yes! Most people don’t know his name, but yeah…so many great character actors!
The movie is fantastic! So so good.
Happy to hear you liked it!
Love it
👍🏻
I thought it was pretty good,I'm definitely ready for part two
Glad you enjoyed it! That part two reel got me hyped.
The adrenochrome theory in a kids movie lol. Love it
I mean…you think this is where it started?
1962 How the West was Won had many stories that came together in 3 hours. Many famous actors were in it: Gregory Peck, Debbie Reynolds, George Peppard, Jimmy Stewart, John Wayne, Eli Wallach, Harry Morgan, Karl Maldon
True…but this story is bigger. There seems to be a lot still to come! I understand if many don’t have the patience for that. I’m eager to see if Costner can pull it off!
@@order42show , I agree but it would have been better to show more in the first part than to turn off the patron by showing less.
I can see that…it really did feel like the end of a chapter to me. Once they’re all out it will feel different.
The opening scene in the theater was chilling. Good use of sound
I probably should watch it again, give it a fresh look.
I want more Ninja movies with Ninjas that are borderline supernatural
I mean…that sounds awesome. To craft a fulfilling story around that is a challenge, but I’d love to see it!
Saw this today. It was great! Don't listen to the negatives!
Oh, I’m not…but with this one, I really can understand why some don’t enjoy it, but man, just a beautifully made movie. And that part two reel at the end got me hyped to watch the next one!
@@order42show I was making reference to other reviews. Your review is right in line with how I feel about this movie!
Oh, I get it! 😁 You were talking to the people!
I thought this movie was incredible … performances and cinematography were incredible .. can’t wait for part 2
Great to hear such good feedback from it. Glad you enjoyed it!
I really enjoyed this reviewer's take on Horizon. It's exactly what I wanted to hear. It's a 4-part series, where Costner appears more and more in each movie. It's a process, building over the four to achieve the entire vision. Don't judge too quickly, let this film wash over you. It's a slow burn and the finale will be grand, rest assured!
Many thanks!
The effects and slow mo was a hit at the time but yes, forgettable lol loved that chain dagger
Yeah, seeing the trailer again I was like…nope, not ringing a bell! 😁
I enjoyed the hell out of it. Yes I own it
Well, maybe I should give it another shot!
Sean Penn is Phenomenal l do not agree with your option on his acting
I’m not exactly sure what I said, but I think he’s turned in some really good performances over the years. This one felt like he was still trying to find his footing.
I agree with you 100 percent if you don’t go in understanding it’s essentially a miniseries you will miss the narrative . I loved it and can’t wait until part 2 . Oh and the theater I saw was basically empty. I’m a film nut and stay for credits when I turned around I was the only one in the theater.
Yep, I think that’s why the critics are not reviewing it well - as a singular film, it doesn’t work like a traditional movie, but yeah, I’m excited for more! Sucks that your screening was like that (in a way, I love being by myself like that!) but I want this to do well, and that may mean it’s got a long road to profitability.
I still rank dances with wolves as one of the greatest film experiences ever for me . I’ve studied that film and still play the soundtrack today . I was wondering what Costner would do with a similar subject that had already been done so brilliantly in 1883 but quickly saw the differences. The use of amazing grace was also something special .
It really seems like what he’s been building towards - I also like seeing his growth as a director. Hopefully part two lives up!
