I'm watching it this weekend. I hope I enjoy it. Seems to be too on the nostalgia side rather than a fresh story.

Ghostbusters Afterlife was mostly pretty good. Could've done without Podcast as everything out of his mouth was annoying and he just didn't seem like a believable character. I'm glad Frozen Empire has less Podcast but he still exists and that makes me and the resat of the world sad. Unfortunately we have the comedian guy who plays the Firemaster or whatever and he's the new Podcast, perhaps even more lame. Everything he says felt forced. Phoebe is the best character in both movies, honestly the only good character. But less good in this movie. The mini-Stay Pufts were the worst part of Afterlife... why are they here? Because Ghostbusters needs "Minions" that's why. I'm never a "fan" of fan service. Like the library ghost scene. Why is that there? Dumb. Slimer is in there but again... just fan service. Not in there for any other reason. Dumb. Also this one had like a thousand different Ghostbusters. I'll pirate it in a year to watch the credits/after credits scenes which are likely to be in there. Also none of the 5 or 6 thousand trailers in front of the movie featured an original IP. That's the state of movies today.

It’s hard to refute anything you said here! I wish Phoebe’s character was a little less…grumpy teen in this one. And it’s the state of modern studio filmmaking for the most part, and that’s concerning and disturbing that it has to be part of an IP to be greenlit. Things do tend to go in cycles though, and hopefully there will be a new rise of indie filmmakers that will arrive and shake things up again.
