Hello and welcome to my channel. I am a train enthusiast and just want to share some of my journeys with KZread. All videos are my own unless stated. Just want to share a passion for our lovely network. Please feel free to Comment your opinions and Subscribe to my channel :)
The first video was posted on June 1st, 2021. Most videos are predominantly focused on Melbourne's Metro Train Network. In particular, trainspotting, service announcements, network operation and journeys

Would be greatly appreciated :)
I have permission to film at stations. So, all film around the network is done in accordance with Metro's policy

I saw that hcmt going back to Pakenham east after finish the protect work
Nice!
Connex voice at the end
*Southern cross stopping all station to southern cross*
Interesting amount of water used on a train lol
Nice vid :)
Cheers
Also the Comengs sound like the X Trapolis horn
Great video! The Siemens are my favourite train in the fleet, great to see them getting some love
Thanks!!
Great video explaining it in detail :)
Thanks!!
This isn’t the first time the HCMT have been on the Werribee line for testing. Does anyone know if there is a way to find out their scheduling? I’ve seen plenty of HCMTs and I’ve ridden on them, but I want to see them during testing. Great photo opportunities too!
One of the cool lines in my opinion :)
as someone who searched for this and loved metro tunnel hq, I LOVE THE VR
Even the train drivers slow down to look into the apartments.😅
Lol
when were hcmts on Mernda line
For various testing in the early days such as HCS testing and rescue couple testing
That's alot of water for a test run
Most I have ever seen on a train
I saw X Trapolis 100, Siemens Nexas and Alstom comeng stabled in westall deport today
Cool
I wonder why they are here
i believe tests on the werribee line are usually to do with high speed testing? as the line speed on the non-altona route is 115km/h. perhaps acceleration/braking with a full load of 'passengers'
My one of the favourite metro train . One thing in new announcement for example when they said change here for upfield and craigiburne services, upgrade one didn’t say AND .
interesting video. Don't know where Aircraft Station is though. Maybe I should explore Mebourne's suburbs more! 6 cars only let's make it 8 then it would not fit the entire platform. The trains still don't look as nice as our Sydney Metro do.. It's either testing with sandbags or testing with water containers. In Sydney the new Parramatta Lightrail was tested with sandbags and stage 2 of the Sydney Metro driverless trains were tested with water containers but I too wondered about how the huge amount of filled water containers were loaded onto and off the test trains and there were quite a few of them. I wonder how many hours it took to load and unload them! Finally did they really need to strap them all down as they are so weighty and so close together and in real life passengers on trains move around especially at higher speed or not so smooth tracks which really shouldn't happen with well built trains. Maybe you new trains aren't water poof enough - what happens if there leak ?
A 500 kilo bottle of water sliding into a seat/door/pole is very different to people walking around
0:05 i thought that was a horn
The kiosk at Werribee is the remains of 388M,😔
@@PaulNoake all stations should do this reuse and recycle and it's a bit of history to show off as well especially to tourists
on which day did you see the hcmt at werribee
Was a Monday
Why are they testing the HCMT on every line
Various reasons
I wish i knew about this, why is it always something happens on my local line that i wanted to experience that i only find out about over a month later? 😭
Imagine my shock yesterday when my Cranbourne train stopped at Toorak. And last week, I got on a train at Frankston, headed to Werribee, and to my surprise it just passed Malvern and South Kensington. It even went via the City Loop before switching directions at Flinders Street! The train went all the way to Werribee via the Altona Loop, stopping at Seddon, Yarraville and Spotswood too. And when I got to Werribee, a V/Line train was arriving at the other platform on its way to Geelong. At Richmond the other day, I heard a Glen Waverley announcement, which for some reason mentioned that it was passing East Richmond? I'm so confused, did I end up in some parallel universe?
Lol
Set 67 back at Westall
Nice to see that it just about fits the platforms I think. I wonder why they didn't just test after the last services or before the first service.
Good point. Not sure
Straya trains in 2035: X trap 2.0 testing on the metro tunnel 2
Lol
are HCMT likely to start service on the Werribee line?
Maybe!
as a commuter who lives in and subsequently frequents Werribee station, I really hope we get some modern trains like the HCMTs at some point - the Xtrap 2.0's aren't likely to come to our line and we are stuck with many archaic Comengs at the moment, a change is certainly needed 😅 (mind you, with the state of the station and central Werribee in general, the comengs fit in well 💀)
Early turn around at laverton 😭
Best shot of the night💀
Metro Tunnel Project have made a KZread Short about capacity testing with 43 x 1,000L tanks and "thousands" of smaller water bottles kzread.info/dash/bejne/n6Kfl9WKlNTAlJM.html&ab_channel=MetroTunnelProject
i think that these tests are for the metro tunnel opening in 2025. i heard that the HMT trains will run from werribee to footscray, go through the metro tunnel stations from footscray to hawksburn.
That is not correct. Sunbury trains will go through the metro, not Werebee.
Sunbury will run through the tunnel to Pakenham. What's changing for Werribee is that it will run through to Sandringham, instead of Frankston, because Frankston is getting put back into the City Loop.
@@soulsphere9242 in a recent question time session in the Victorian parliament, the Victorian transport minister mentioned that if approved, select trains on the Werribee-Frankston timetable will be serviced by HMT Trains and will go through the metro tunnel, hence this testing is going on on the Werribee-Frankston Line. Also there were talks of using the old existing tracks between Werribee Station and Geelong that the Geelong Vline used back in the day, to runs train services to Avalon Airport. But only on the condition that Avalon Airport gets Several International Airline Contracts and restarts its International Terminal that would make it sustainable to start the service
@@harshilgupta6652 I am sceptical about this. This will create some difficult flat junction crossovers and kind of goes against the whole point of separating the lines operationally.
Does this mean HCMTs are gonna be on other lines other than Pakenham and the metro tunnel and stuff?
Maybe!
When does Ringwood east station open
today
Not sure :(
Had a slight delay I believe
when did they go past in the belgrave line??????? was it recently?
A few years ago
Bit late now but here's a simulated broken down HCMT when they were testing on the Belgrave line kzread.info/dash/bejne/oZuNscizf9GoktI.html
Very cool. Thanks
Great video by the way!😁
i saw this in person completely by accident and was so confused as to why there are hcmt on the werribee line
Lucky catch!
I wish HMCT’s replaced the x’traps on the mernda line… bouncy
Wdym bouncy? When I went on the Mernda line for the first time, it was pretty smooth with all the new rails and stations
@@Detrabot They probably mean between Flinders Street and Clifton Hill
@@babyboomertwerkteam5662 true, but I don’t mind it tbh.
Water HCMT 🔥
I wonder if they going introduce more HCMT to the Sunbury line, on revenue services, apart from the two in the morning?
Probably not until the metro tunnel
Hopefully they take a trip down to Frankston sometime soon!
They probably won't as they are not planning to put these on the Frankston, just like X Trapolis and the Sandringham line.
Would be cool
Why is the Werribee line 100% BiDirecitonal
Signalling allows for it
HOPEFULL THE DUPLICATION OF SEAHOLME AND ALTONA STARTING🗣️🗣️🗣️(i kinda see a video about this, thats why.)
why did the hcmt go on the werribee line
1:25 will have ur answer It looks like they where testing weight capacity with using the water bottles
Various testing. One for capacity testing and one for platform measurements
hope this happens more often, would like to be able to get a picture/video of one! last time i saw one on the werribee line was a video of it passing the old rail crossing which no longer exists
I remember when they did this during lockdown in 2020 and 2021
Nice video, thanks. Will they test the HCMT train across all the lines?
Thanks
3 MINUETES
Today?
This week. Not today though
@StrayaTrains I could've easily seen it, but nope
