I can't believe you missed the entire point of the 3:18 Glen Waverley service. It stops at Heyington Station for 4 minutes to pick up St Kevin's school passengers. That's the real interesting thing about it, not just some quirky service that runs direct for no reason

You don't mention the real special part of the Craigieburn Direct service, that being it runs via the Through Suburban Viaduct (used by Werribee and Williamstown trains), the only Craigieburn train to do so, and takes the flyover route at North Melbourne to avoid the super congested Northern Loop

Macleod platform 3 isnt the mont park line, That branched off before the station. But still an interesting platform and station

The Mooroolbark service is the only such service in the _PM Peak_. There are 2 services terminating there in the morning, those being the 6:46 ex-Ringwood and 6:43 ex-Flinders Street direct which runs express Richmond to Camberwell, then Box Hill, after which it's all stops to Mooroolbark.

One not mentioned and I nearly ended up on was the 5:23pm Flinders St to Glen Waverley (via city loop). Was on the one before (5:15pm all stations to Glen Waverley), and noticed the one after (being the 5:23pm) runs express Richmond to Darling, getting to Glen Waverley 4 minutes after the previous service. Probably a bit unusual to have any limited express services on the Glen Waverley line.

There used to be many more services that terminated at Macleod, but as a result of Hurstbridge Line duplication i believe some trains were extended to Eltham, meaning previous Macleod services were extended to Greensborough. ALSO Macleod Platform 3 is NOT part of the Mont Park line. This is a very common misconception and is addressed in Taitset's video on the line.

Mernda line also has non timetabled expresses that run Jolimont - Victoria Park, Clifton Hill - Preston - Reservoir - Thomastown - Epping, South Morang - Mernda. However lots only go as far as Epping/South Morang

i don't know if this service still runs, but i think sometime around the end of the afternoon peak there's an Alamein via City Loop service from Flinders Street that runs as a 3 car set between the city and Alamein

Not anymore sadly. It was stopped last year. Now that last Alamein out of town is a 6 car service

Correct me if im wrong but I think the 5:07 Werribee to flinders street runs express from Werribee to Newport then stops all including south Kensington on weekdays

Box Hill should be like Strathfield in Sydney. All trains from the outer suburbs should go direct from Box Hill to Richmond. Build the 4th tracek for goodness sake. Ditto with lines like Frankston. Imagine sitting on a train from there to the city every day! Melbourne trains are just terrible - seriously terrible. It's faster to get a train from Geelong to Southern Cross than it is from Belgrave.

Yeah sometimes due to delays the Blackburn terminating services will terminate at Box Hill

...further - now they've built these monstrosities through the South Eastern suburbs. How can there ever be express trains from the outer suburbs into the city now? Build another bridge with express tracks? It's a complete joke what has been done. Hey those living in Pankenham - enjoy a longer trip from there to the city than it takes from Geelong; These "Rail Bridges" with "parks" underneath them have ruined those living in the outer burbs for at least 100 years. Absolutely disgusting Victoria.
