gonna miss hearing these. they were my childhood, made it easy to tell when the train was about to depart if i was unfortunate to be stuck standing on a peak PM service

What a great and touching tribute. I know I'll definitely miss hearing this sound which will forever be tied to trains in Melbourne, at least for me. It just won't be the same without these horns. RIP.

I already miss them. I ride daily along the Upfield Bike Trail and it's always nice to hear these, usually a good indicator if the level crossing ahead is going to be down. Hopefully some get preserved!

I had to say I'm gonna miss these Comeng RVB horn as soon as i came in Melbourne by 2023 before the New Rubbish horn trial came to replace

I appreciate all the clips including level crossings, another thing we're largely getting rid of! RIP RVB comeng.

I’m going to miss hearing these lovely comengs. So sad they’re a thing of the past. Melbourne just won’t be the same without them 😢😢😢 farewell old friend ❤

First z3 130 gets withdrawn and now all comeng train have lost their iconic horn

I just hope they keep a few in preservation or even for some enthusiasts to own.

I am surprised they are replacing the horns on these 1980s units, implying they'll still be using Comeng trains for a few more years, despite HCMTs and Xtrapolis 2.0s entering service.
