My opinion would be the door with the side window panel.
This what I love to do to our cottage (ADD A PORCH) but our main box is inside up above the door way 😢 Great work ethic guys 👍
Well done. Nice to see the progress you have made. Really well made video as well. Thank you for all the information and guidance. Thanks Frank in Ireland.
Hi Frank, thank you, really appreciate the kind words, glad this could be of use to you
Wd40 and a sponge 👍
Thanks for the idea, I’ve also been told diesel works aswell
What is an escavator
An excavator for a dyslexic person
As long as you excavated with the escavator and not escavated with the excavator😂😂
Dyslexia, what else can I say 😂
Bet you £10 quid you cant get it on the roof …
Not taking on that bet 😂
All the dust stuck to it well done lads well done
I seen people say to use diesel
Hi both Hope the utilities don’t hold you up , interesting that you reinstalled the threshold brickwork . As against just concreting to the existing oversight in the hallway, but I suppose planning would have had some input . Will look forward to the next stage of this part of the project , a lot of useful information you are generating for anyone planning a similar conversion . 😊
Utilities have been a bit of a night mate so a slight change of plan, but we are still pushing on 👍 that’s one reason we started the KZread as we spent ages watching similar KZreadrs before buying our renovation project
Well done is not enough words, what a fantastic job. You should both be proud. As an experience builder that's one quality build 👍
Thank you, really appreciate that. If we turn our hand to something we do our best to make it as good as the professional if possible 😂
Would be concerned about fumes tbh for prolonged use indoors.
All door and windows were opened and stopped at regular intervals, was all ok 👍
so impressive, there really is no stopping you and I thank you for the inspiration in moving forward, seems that nothing phases you and that must be so rewarding for you both. hope you have the odd day off and rest but it doesn't appear so. keep on keeping on and every step is a step nearer to realising your dreams. first class.thanks for sharing
Thank you mark, appreciate the kind words, we do get some rest from the build but we usually end up doing something related to the build, usually window shopping for bathroom and kitchen bits 😂
Hope you decide to restore & keep the internal glass partition with what looks like the original rippled glass. Not many of these are left now, they add a nice bit of period character but still go well with new decoration - and they're great when you have to talk to people on the doorstep on a cold day without letting the winter wind in. Just discovered your channel, time to binge-watch.
Sadly we are getting rid of the internal Partition, from the timber and install method I believe this to be installed 80s/90s as were the timber windows replaced around this time. And glad you’ve found us, hopefully you enjoy our journey 👍
лютая стройка
Thank you
How come you stopped using the digger and carried on with a shovel, doesn’t that defeat the purpose of having the digger in the first place
It was out first time using an excavator and I could only dig up 3/4 of the room without getting too worried about the earth collapsing. I also didn’t want the excavator getting stuck in the rooms, so we decided to break up the last 1/4 of each room with the digger to make it soft and get it out by hand 👍
Mieux que sur le plan pour la qualite de la realisation et aussi des economies d energie bravo
Thank you, we are trying to bring up the existing property to the same U-values as the extension 👍
Nope as the amount of crap that will stick to it
It’s been ok so far
brilliant videos! your floor plan looked very similar to what I am doing too so very excited to watch all your videos. i was thinking of putting in a shower tray but you might convince me to just build it!
We are very excited too, to get all this finished 😂 hopefully you enjoy the process just as much as we have
How much fuel were you getting through over say and 8 hour day buddy?
I had it running for about 10-12 hours and used £10 of diesel
Great job guys. Too late now of course but were you aware there are 2 companies that sell seconds of that insulation. 1 in Caerphilly and another in mid Wales somewhere both deliver.
I know of the one in Caerphilly but I was under the impression that seconds are no good to pass for building control?
That's a great milestone you have achieved, well done.
Thank you ched 👍
My dad said you were always a talented kid and 1 of the best chippys around at such a young age too 🤝
Haha who’s your dad 🤣
Only just found this channel a few weeks ago and i look forward to every upload now! I was wondering, the diagram at the start shows type one, sand up to DPM, i have a bit of rising damp in my house, if i dig down the way you have and introduce new DPM, does ths solve the issue? or Does it need to be slotted inbetween the blocks of the house?
Thank you Darren, it all depends if you have a damp proof course in the block/brick work if you do now then the damp will rise up through the walls as it’s the only way to escape. Luckily we have a slate DPC in our walls
Brilliant work as always and great progress being made. Hope all is well, take care
Thank you Peter, it feels like the end is now in sight 😂
Looks amazing 👏
Thank you, we can’t wait for the end result
Brilliant to see this coming together, you guys have flogged
Thank you!
The liquid screed makes the place look so much bigger, don’t know if it’s because all the floors are one level now. Would be interested to hear your view’s once the UFH is up and running and comparing in to standard radiators.
It made a Hughes difference in appearance once it was dry! And yeah we are excited to see how well it performs/ how much it costs to run 😂
Amazing work guys, i done the same under floor heating and liquid screed floor... no regrets 👍 well done, massive task but you seem to be taking it all in your stride 👌
Thank you, sadly we can’t wait for the colder months now to try out our heating 😂
Excellent stuff
Thank you Robert 👍
Awesome stuff fella! Proud of you both! 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you 😁😂
You both are doing a fantastic job of that house. Keep up the good work love the videos👍
Hey! Thank you, we appreciate the comment!
Waste of time
we thought they looked great after
@@Selfbuild_TheJenkinsUntill loads of dust and dirt sticks to them sure dose
Nice windows and yes it makes such a difference on a new build when the glass goes 👏🏻
It really does, we love them
Ой вей , чоловіче! І на який "буй" так " Їпатись"?😂😂😂 В нас за день ту добудову з газоблоку бахнулиб а на другий накрилиб дахом 😅😅
This is my first time ever laying blocks and building an extension, and these blocks are 15kg each
@@Selfbuild_TheJenkins співчуваю 😉 Але за пророблену роботу однозначно 👍
I use it on the Ridge caps makes them pop to
That’s a good idea 👍
@@Selfbuild_TheJenkins 👍👍
Excellent job my brother, kudos to you and you alone... it is so typical to see the lazy woman not even attempting to lift a finger. Just too busy on the phone with her sunhat and sunglasses and when it is all over, she conveniently steps in to take the credit.... the man did the work.... this is to you brother....
Not my wife, she’s been there, feeding me, watering me, cleaning, tidying, filming, passing tools, moving earth, digging, shifting, up on the scaffold helping me retile the roof. I wouldn’t be doing any of this without her.
@@Selfbuild_TheJenkins Okay, my sincere apologies brother, what a tremendous and solid build.
its a job not many people can do for the first tine.. unless they put their minds to do it.. you're doing a good thing.. for your future comfort... my respect to you.. plus it saves you the extra $$$.. it might cause you some discomfort but it will definately help you to do other tasks.. in future. Suggestion: 2xl t-shirt will help.
Thanks and not sure about XL tops I’m wearing very old work shirts that are medium and definitely shrunk in the wash 😂
What the fk are you pair doing?
Digging
Какие блоки вы использовали? Какая у них плотность и теплопроводность?
7kn blocks
proper job lads, safe and easy ❤
Always!
I bet you're glad you wasn't asked to re-plaster it 😂, looks better 👍
Give it a few years she may change her mind 😂
Been there prepping a wall to add a radiator. Thick tiles, plaster, concrete screed then brick revealed. Cleaned bricks, sealed and hung radiator. Wall looks great. It doesn’t feel like it during the grind, but it’ll look great when finished. Good job.
Can’t wait for it to be done 😂
Would of cost more for skips 👍🏼
True!
As if you did all that just for underfloor heating… why not just do a raised floor system or a screed-in one? Made that a hell of a job for yourselves
Window fitter here- cracking price
We thought so aswell 👌
tetszik, amit csinál, kár hogy nem látható a folyamat
bármit csinál az tiszta átgondolt munka, most végignézem az összes videót, mert nagyon tetszik
thank you so kind!
tetszik amit csinálnak, kár, hogy nem mutat többet a folyamatból, nyilván ez nem kertrendezési csatorna
This was our first few videos :) we film a lot more now for our channel
szép tiszta munka, sok boldogságot a családnak
thank you!
We dug out...?You mean your man did. Women want equal rights until it comes to hard physical labour 😂😂😢😮
