The possibility of a black one has me intrigued! Though ideally it would be a white Gibson model.
Great job seeking that out and getting one. Definitely seems to be a lucky find! Instead of installing a bigsby on it, would you think of putting a nice after market trapeze tailpiece on it? Cheaper, much easier installation and doesn't affect tuning as much, and still gives it a real vintage look and feel. Best of luck with it. it's a beaut.

Dave they're out in the wild here in the US. I just saw a scratch and dent for $900. Looks beautiful man. I also think they're so much more versatile than an LP. I wish they made lefties man. It's a beauty! Nice score. I agree about the Veri-wrong-tone switch. I have an L6-S copy with one. There are only a couple of switch positions that I like.

That's the nicest red I've seen 😍. Epiphone are doing well with the semi-hollows now. And yeah Marty played one with a Bigsby, but tbh, they're more trouble than they're worth.

Dave, your patience has been rewarded! It will not surprise me if you end up with a unique instrument. Personally, I think the guitar looks perfect without the Bigsby. Perhaps it's a prototype for the long awaited "TCD Signature" model ;-)

Just played one of these yesterday wow best Tele I’ve ever played including the American fenders I’ve played. Pickups are decent but feel and playability outstanding.

Hi Dave….this chat never gets old….agree with the overall gist here….devils advocate tho…yes 2nd hand Gibsons LP's can get down at times to the new inspired by customs but not quite…tbh i visited a store yesterday and saw the 3 price ranges of epiphones in the flesh. my least favs looks wise were the mid range, up close the kalamazoo stock didnt do it for me, seemed a bit chunky prefer the old style or the open book. Yes they have some better pick ups than the standard priced offerings tbf. The finish on the inspred custom range vos or whatever, i really liked. Now when the 2nd hand market gets sensible again hopefully and the new customs come down to £800 maybe? Then getting 2 of those for the price of a 2nd hand gibson will be a great deal for me, especially with the pick ups, pots, finish and looks. I'm a snob and would always love the gibson immoral high ground but for the stage im at now cost and common sense make things a bit different. Yes 100% paying full price for the new epiphones is totaly questionable, exception being the es335's and if you can find those atm good look to you! if they ever get dicounted miraculously i think they look like the best of them. Finally will the new line stay in production? Will the specs stay the same or be downgraded but not the price? If they remain popular I wouldn't be suprised. Big lv Mark x
If you buy a Chibson you can get your rosewood fretboard also... Plus, you will get that authentic Norland-era experience 😄
A used Epiphone is 30% cheaper than a new one, and a new Epiphone is 30% more expensive today.

Why not? Lots of people do that for vlogs.
In this market? Old. The deals on Reverb the last year have been amazing. New guitar prices have dropped, but you can get some deals on INVESTMENT guitars right now. Guitars that will appreciate in value over time. That isn't usually the case. Couple that with Gibson trying to position Epiphone in the $1200-$1600 range when the quality doesn't match the price for most of the models, used is the way to go.

I‘m very happy with my Epi LP 50s Std and its „Book Opened Too Far“ headstock. It was half the cost of the „Inspired By“ version.
