The Epiphone guitar's that are up in price for the most part are the Artist Guitars like that Dave Grohl and Joe Bonamassa models. The regular line models went up around $50 but that is pretty much in line with normal product increases.

The regular line went up but not hundreds. The big increases are in the artist guitars. I have 9 Epiphones now but all are regular line.

the new Gibby standards are amazing and they are everywhere buy while the market is saturated. might need nut filing but other thatn that chnaces are its amazingly fit and finish.

Actually, the new Sweetwater run of Epiphone Custom SG's is a good value at $699! So much so that it may end up breaking me of my prejudice against the brand! Rock on!

Cool vid and convo guys. PRS is going the other way from EPI and issuing less expensive guitars. I haven’t owned a PRS but that’s got me interested in that universe now. Yamaha Revstars same thing, especially entry level, great guitar and solid pricing.

Everything is up. When I first started looking at a Gibson 50’s standard they were 26 or 27 hundred. That was 2 years ago, and now they’re over 3 grand. Yes, I think the greeny is overpriced, the firebirds for sure…the DG isn’t terrible. I said this a while back though, if you’re going to charge a high premium for these guitars, especially the greeny/firebirds at 1500+ then they should absolutely be plek’d and possibly do fret nibs like the gibsons. These guitars are essentially filling the void left by the tribute and studio price wise so give us some high end fret work. Just my opinion.

Epiphone prices have got silly but people are buying the guitars. One retailer I asked when will the blue Dave Grohl be back in stock ? He said they are pre sold until next year and I would be number 37 on the list if I paid for one now.

That’s weird because I heard they didn’t all sell out as expected, likely due to the price. Maybe it depends on the retailer?

Epiphone’s are the equivalent to Fender’s made in Mexico line. Not much difference price wise, but because it’s got the Fender name on it people don’t freak out.

The standard Epiphone les paul junior has gone up over $200!

A Les Paul Custom with the proper headstock made by anyone is getting bought by me period!!!!

Go get that interview, Dave! During that interview, ask if he can donate an Epiphone DG-335 to a very needy woman who has been through a hell of a lot of medical things over 20 year (that got much worse since 2018). As we know, I would never ever be able to afford this dream guitar I’ve been hoping would be made as an affordable Epiphone ever since I saw Dave Grohl playing his own Gibson take on a Trini a bunch of years back - well before I played guitar. I don’t think our generous Gibson CEO would say no to a donation request knowing this stuff gets posted and it would look bad to refuse lol. I would be eternally grateful if you score such an interview and would be willing to be bold enough to ask. He also loves animals - tell him my handsome, dedicated service dog would also deeply enjoy that gift. Wow, that would mean a lot if we could get him to commit to gifting one of them to me. And perhaps he could give a second guitar to give away. We have so many deserving people here. Maybe we’d get lucky, lol. If you can manage to score an interview, I’d love to know more about the Epiphone facility and how they got the quality to the best level the brand has probably ever produced. Maybe he’d let you tour the place to understand how it operates and get to hear from some of those employees.

Materials and craftsmanship are the same across the board. CNC machining has brought quality to a different level.

Not so much on the fret work I just checked out on Saturday, also the paint job had minor flaws

I really want a Dave Grohl but at $2138 CAD with tax is just to much for me. There pricing is odd, artist models I expect to cost more but how is it that the 1963 firebird V is the most expensive guitar they sell it's $530 CAD more then the DG-335 and the older epiphone firebird is only $929 CAD all it needs is the usa pickups for $400 CAD you save $1100 CAD.

That's easy because Greedy Gibson own them ROFL! I'm surprised Gibson haven't sued them already for some reason....🤣

There Wiltshire and crestwood guitars are fantastic value
