I met JIMMY PAGE (and played his 50k guitar!)
Ойын-сауық
I was invited to the new Gibson Garage in London when I had a moment with the legend Jimmy Page. I played his new signature guitar 12-string! Unbelievable! Thanks to @gibsonguitar for having me.

I always thought it would be epic and hilarious if Jimmy Page went into one of these "No Stairway" guitar stores and played Stairway.

Amazing, I loved everything about this! Thanks Paul (and Jimmy) for the inspiration, teaching and laughs.
Loved the opening sequence! And congratulations on meeting one of the guitar greats! Heck, I am surprised that all three of them in the same room didn't open some portal into six string heaven or something!
I met him and shook his hand in LA for a book signing event back in 2014. I was surprised at how strong his grip was! He commented on my shirt, which had a tree and its roots in the shape of a guitar from Kauai. Emotions came out of nowhere as I was walking away. I even slept in my truck in a parking garage! Great memory.

Me too, what a special day, a great memory indeed! Went with my dad, a crazy Zep super fan (he's got like 2500 Zeppelin songs in his library, every bootleg recording of a live show he could find on the Internet).
YES! Paul uploaded a new video!
Great video, I woke up grumpy (as you do at 69yo) it really lifted my mood. I remember a guitar shop in Sydney in the 70s Harry Landis that had a sign "anyone playing stairway to heaven or smoke on the water will be asked to leave.
DUDE!!!! That is a dream I have to get to meet Jimmy F'n PAGE!!! Congrats
The level of production you have in your videos is astonishing. Congratulations 🙌
Paul's such a humble person for someone who's already quite of a legend on his own, as a content creator, host, presenter, and as a musician.
I just signed up for yiour channel after watching various videos. Jimmy Page is my favorite guitarist (and LZ is my favorite band). What a treat to see this video.
I met Jimmy a few years ago on the streets of london - he was so kind and polite, I'm glad you got to meet him!
Such a wonderful space! Thanks, Paul - you showed a special mood behind it!) It's fantastic!
Brilliant video! Looking forward to visiting next month!
How to make a visit to a new guitar place exciting content. Take note all other youtubers! Looked a lot of fun Paul, congrats.
Oh, man!... 😮 What an awesome place and with such beautiful guitars! ❤❤❤ Not really a big fan of Gibson myself, but let's give credit where a credit is due. I'm sincerely happy for you. Great video! 👍🏻👏🏻🙋🏼♂️
what a great honour to meet all 3 guitar legends you are so lucky .
Thanks Paul, for sharing some new history with us. Amazing opportunity and thank you for sharing. :)
Thank you. Everyone does conventions, openings, presentations....... but you have finally produced a video where the intro is more interesting and amusing than the actual event. Yes it was great to see those iconic guitar legends and all of those beautiful guitars but you in that phone box at the beginning was epic, closely followed by your fleeting image on the Abbey Road zebra crossing photoshoot.
That's my guitar teacher right there! My man!❤ Thanks for the video, since I've been loving Jimmy Page.
Very cool Paul! Watched Mark so many times when he was at Norm's guitars. Lucky to see and tour the Memphis plant before it was moved to Nashville. What a nice shop!
Great show!!! Thank you for sharing!!!
Great work editing this!👌
Great video…got a much better sense of what’s there from this video than anything else I’ve seen so far
Thank you Paul for being at the perfect moment. So happy for you.
To be in the same room with them, wow, especially Pagey. I did get to see Page and Plant. That was amazing!
Gibson have officially created the boutique style store all the luxury brands have. Porsche, Rolex, Gucci etc all have stores like this. The prices are insane - 3,999 in canada now and likely to go higher. These guitars are now firmly in the dentist/dawyer/accountant category of things that are luxury nice to haves that will never be used by actual people.

Sure some regular musicians buy em too. But the vast majority of Gibson buyers now are upper middle class and upper class folks. Thats why they have fake aging techniques in the custom shop - its so dentists can buy something that replicates road wear and they can do some cosplay. Fits perfectly with their Harley Davidson.

@@mohannair some of them sure. Saying most without any proof is just talkin sh tho. Yes rich ppl like nice things and they can afford them. Doesn’t mean working musicians don’t play nice instruments either. You looked so stoked!!! Happy for you Bro.
I’m sitting here after watching the video wondering why it made me so emotional. Badass opportunity, Paul. Kudos. Rock n roll!
What a terrific experience! I also had an SG (because of Robby Krieger of the Doors), but it wouldn't stay in tune. I eventually traded it in - and THEN, at the Nashville Gibson Garage just a couple of years ago, I bought another one at their custom shop. THAT one has been great. [I saw Led Zeppelin at their first New York show. It was at the famous Carnegie Hall in 1969. Fabulous.)
What a guitar store! I wish we had something like that in Australia. Online stores have closed many of our stores down
You're living the dream. Smiles from Colorado coming at you!
Nice video. Great having some guitar gods on hand to bless the store. Hope the store does well, need to sell a bunch of customs to pay the rent.
Holy cow! … talk about a “holy grail” moment!! Love your production values too! Fun!!
Great video! It's actually more a short movie, and I loved it. Goose flesh... Not sure if for the legend or fire the place, probability for both.
Awesome video Paul.

Meeting a star like Jimmy Page - I couldn't get a word out. That must have been a very nice feeling of happiness. 🤩🎸
Paul Davids, I love all your videos. Always with content that makes me explore and want more. And because of this video I may actually give Gibson Guitars a second try.
Oh god, I would have loved to have been there... My favorite online teacher Paul Davids, together with Jimy Page, Brian May, Toni Iommy and Mark Agnesi at Gibson Playland... 🤤 a wet dream would have come true... Three of my reasons why I started making music... all that's missing are Slash, Malcolm and Angus... and everything in my favorite city, London... So cool!
I met Jimmy Page back in 1995. Plant & Page played in México City the No Quarter tour. I made a 8 hour bus travel from my hometown to México City the night before the gig. Arrived at 7:00 a.m. and at 11:00 a.m. I went to El Tianguis del Chopo (outdoors live music, sale, exchange of records/instruments/clothing, etc). That day El Chopo was a crazy boiling place because the Page & Plant concert that night, everything was about Led Zeppelin. By 3:00 p.m. I was leaving the Chopo and 2 blocks from there while I was walking on the street just in front of the Mercado de Artesanías (a pretty expensive silvery and crafts store) a limo parked 10 feet just in front of me, the back door opened, Jimmy Page got out of the limo and the first thing he saw was me, I Immediately recognize him and only had to walk 3 more steps to shake his hand. I told him how much I´ve admired and enjoyed his work, I told him I had traveled 8 hours to in order to attend the concert that night, he told me Robert stayed at the President Hotel....we kept talking while we walked into the Mercado de Artesanías. He was very kind, I couldn´t believe I was talking with my personal guitar hero while through the glass of the store window I could see all the people going crazy because he was at the city but nobody knew he was just inside that store....talking with me! No camera, no smartphone, no pic with Jimmy Page...just a GREAT memory of talking and greeting Jimmy
I grew up near Windsor, where Jimmy had the Mill house (now an air B&B). When I met my future wife, she was working in a video store near there. It wasn't til 30 years later, she told me Jimmy was a regular customer. She didn't know who he was, the staff told her and she served and chatted with him many times. Shit, she could have told me back then.
well done Paul
so cool you got to meet Geert Wilders!!
The second chord is Cmaj7#5/G# (2nd inversion) taken from A harmonic minor.

Is it weird that I damn near got goosebumps for you?! Very cool.
Well done Paul!
This is the definition of the word "Lucky!" I would love to be in your shoes. Mark helped convince me to get my Les Paul Standard '50s.
I think that's just round the corner from my office. Might have to have a look in the window when I'm there next. You sure took a bit of a detour to get there from Whitehall :D
Imagine Gibson fans’ face discovering that stairway to heaven solo is recorded with a telecaster
“We have something for everybody. It’s our core philosophy!” “Including lefties?” “No.”
JImmy does'nt know the name of the 2nd chord from "Stairway"... but, it's rumoured there's a guy in California who does...🤣🤣😉
Oh the adventures you've been having lately, Paul! Amazing. Wow. But also, well done. You've worked so hard and you deserve it. Over 3 million Subscribers, no wonder Gibson gave you the opportunity. You've earned this! And did anyone notice how young Toby Lee has grown now?!!! I hardly recognised him. Great video, Paul!

Isn't the internet amazing. Congratulations Paul, you deserve it.

An experience that touches your soul for a lifetime.
I built a custom 6/12 double neck and put a Rickenbacker toaster pickup in the 12 string bridge position. Best of both worlds.
What a world class marketing / sales exercise. Well done Gibson......this is really next level.
Nice Borat reference, Mark.
