Ok, here is my "before". The main difference may be how stable they keep tuning and how much they have to be stretched what makes them thinner in a small scale and therefore thinner and less dynamic due to cold hardening as a result of metallurgical perspective in the grain itself. Cheaper strings may rust much faster exposed to salty sweat from your fingers and the lower grade less chromium or nickel containing steel. The surface might not be as slick due to less cre with tool lifetime in the production process or even usind worn tools for producing cheaper strings in the same factory. And of course there is permeability as a material parameter... When it comes to coatings there is 100% a difference in friction and feel. So if you like it buy it. Now moving on with the vid. So, well, now I am as smart as before. Sadly. Nothing new but that strings sound different an Paul likes maybe coatings...

I recently got a chance to play a '51 Nocaster at a GREAT little guitar shop in the Seattle area. I knew they had it based on their online inventory and I wasn't even planning on playing it. It just wanted to see it in person. The guy was awesome, all I said was that I wanted to see it and he pulls it off the wall, hands it to me and says, "do you want to play it". I was blown away. I said, "You know I can't buy it right?" he says, "Well if people don't play them and enjoy them then they just hang on the wall and go out of tune". That was bucket list guitar for me. I'm not an amazing player by any stretch but it was so much fun and I had a massive smile on my face the whole. It was all original and so much fun. Amazing shop, really cool staff. What blew me away about playing it though was that it really didn't feel any different than my telecasters at home. People talk about the thick necks on the old Tele's and based on my experience, I don't understand where that comes from at all. It felt completely natural and seriously, it felt just like playing my guitars at home. I'll never forget that experience. So much fun.

I watched an interview with King, he was explaining something and played a little riff as an example. The interviewer asked him to play it again, and he said “I don’t know what I just played exactly, I don’t like to play anything twice”. Master of improvisation.

I love the sound difference between picking and using your fingers. Even the difference in sound in the different locations where you pick. Beautiful playing. I hope I get to play a 5 stringed guitar like this one day. I love this video! Thank you both ❤️

1:35 Already cleared up everything I was confused about lol. Was trying to learn a E7 from another video and could not understand why when I count the interval myself - it sounds different to the example given. Seems like a pretty big piece of information to leave out! This Cm(maj7) reminds me of "I want you (she's so heavy)" by the Beatles

Lovely guitar. I have often thought of getting a parlor or couch guitar. And you helped bring into the world one that is simply beautiful. While the "bling" is more than I gravitate to, I have to admit it works great on that build. It is not too much, but just right. And wonderful playing as always... cheers.

i'm more surprised it doesn't have tons of petals built in. having a guitar with a significant number of effect presets in it, like petals, so you only have buy one instrument much like the fancier keyboards, would be pretty amazing. as it stands i'm more surprised this only exists now. when melodyne came out i thought this would be one of the first resultant products.

Great video, but everyone gets this wrong, even Paul! At 13:52 the note before the hammer on is D#, not E. This can be appreciated if you listen to the original song and slow it down.

I already have more guitars. I have too much gear to even think simple. I'm gonna push it all into the basement and only bring out the shit required. I have accumulated this stuff over a couple decades and it was all just pushed into the available space. It's way too much the way it is and I just got done playing and had nothing but fucking frustration. The Klipsch need horns, half my monitors have blown tweeters, I have amps and pedals and all they are good for right now is tripping someone. It sucks because I feel really good and can easily get into some kick ass tunes. But I start and I stop to adjust shit. It gets old and drains my drive to rock out. Fuck it for tonight. Headphones always work. Just want some decent sounds...

I know how to play the guitar. But just the chords. I just can't comprehend how good guitar players play it note by note, string by string.
