All such fantastic solos but, .......... Julia's solo actually made my eyes begin to well up and a lump moved from my heart to my throat. So sweet it was.
Mateus bending and sliding was insane how smooth he can make it. But Jens carrying out his motif through non diatonic change really stuck with me. Everyone else was sustaining notes at that high point like it was a rule you had to. Everything was great but Jens line is now haunting me in the best way possible

Good observation. That's what Mateus was refering to when he said the first part sounded like a cliché: subconciously everybody had some Stairway to Heaven-ish references, except for the 2 guys you mentioned: Mateus, who muscled his way out of the conventional references (and imo kinda got too carried away at times 😅) and Jens, who, being a jazz guitarist, is unshackled by the conventions the track carries. Having said that, I still found some high quality moments throughout all the performances, like Martin's resourcefulness or Julia's gorgeous feel.

Rabea, what a start. His style has so much soul !
I love Jens’s understanding for form and musical structure. While all others clearly articulated part A and B (B=when the song slows down) Jens made something I would call a “lead-in”. In classical music there is a similar idea to connect antecedent with the consequent. The ending Motiv of the antecedent in measure 5 is the beginning Motiv of the consequent. It’s called elision. Also I wanna mention Paul’s feeling for short repeating cool sequences, a pleasure to listen to. And Julia’s smooth alternating fingerpicking was great to observe. It was a great idea to make a collaboration like this Paul. With all these great guitarists and their different approach gives us an insight to analytical thinking. Great job, keep on going.
Thank you for letting me be a part of the video. hope I didn't ruin anything! 😁

Mateus’ solo was absolutely nuts. Just about the best bends and vibrato I’ve ever heard
Marty sounded like the perfect session player. best approach not trying to show off. making the track shine not overtaking the natural melody that one might hear the chords progress
Josh smith so smoothly with his phrasing and note choices also his sound got the most vintage tone, always a pleasure to hear u Josh !
Mateus is just on a totally different level. The way he traverses the fretboard, and plays phrases is just immaculate.
How is nobody talking about Josh´s solo? It hit straight to the hearth. So much emotion. It felt the most musical and fitting for a solo because it's memorable. He created a hook, which makes it feel like something part of a bigger picture.

Superb work from everybody. Julia invented and played something I have never heared or witnessed. Like tango lines, with absolute grace of phrasing and melodic ideas.
As someone who has never liked watching Marty Swartz's videos, because he usually only teaches the beginnings and basics of songs, his solo might have been my favorite. It was basic, but not simple, using scales that most beginners can play. But more than that, his timing was excellent. I think the others were trying too hard to play at the edge of their ability, to give you something you and your viewers would find impressive, while Marty tried to make and play something that sounds good. That makes a big difference. Marty spoke through his guitar, while the others made their guitar speak.
Oh man… Honestly, Mateus’s solo was the only thing left in my head after this video. It’s like the backing track was made for it. Truly phenomenal!! ❤

Julia Lange made me cry. Sounded like a piano solo on a guitar. Really beautiful 😮

Jens has such a beautiful tone and feel.
Damn you Paul. My goal was not to have tears run down my face. Mission failed, crying my eyes out. This and the one where you had Chris Buck, sick and wrong. So emotional. Love the Beatles'ish "something in the way" progression. You are my favorite youtube guitar personality. Keep it up sir. Come to Nashville
Julia is incredible. Just wow.
Josh is a living legend. All players are real great, but I love how Josh sounds on this track.
Martin’s solo literally made me say “I’ve got to get better, dude.” Never heard him. He’s a straight monster.

Martin has an awesome feel for rhythm and harmony, and he kicks out some awesome phrases here, but I always feel like his solos would sound better if they had half the number of notes. 😁
Love Josh and Ross. Rabea's was fitting, Kfir did a Gary Moore, Mateus was loosey goosey, Julia's was light. Jen came super prepared with years and years of practice, and the demonstration was subtly epic. Everyone was amazing.
What an absolutely fantastic group of guitarists, massive respect for the collaboration
I got to give it to Ross Campbell on this one. He showed the full range of dexterity and creativity while still making it dance within the track. Those volume swelled bends hit you right in the feels. At least they do for me. The A major lick was also my favorite of the bunch. Also loved the jazz licks on Jens Larsen's track. The warm tone just worked well with them.

It's all about love. Thank you so much for this amazing show guys ... So lovely !!!
All terrific guitarists but As an older gent, my top 3 are Marty - listening to the music of 60s and 70s his Solo is what stood out for me Jens- Loved his jazz style Ross - hit on the music of my teen years Great collaboration Paul
The „feeling“ award goes … definitely… to Mr Campbell. No frills, no showing off, just a deep dive into emotions😍. Love it

He is clearly the winner
Ross Campbell for the feels and and Julia Lange for sounding like a 1950's hawaiian guitar - such a great range of styles
Mataus Asato is one of my favorite guitarist he just plays so smooth across the fretboard like butter in a hot pan.
Mad respect Paul bringing us the amazing guitarists and amazing tunes you are helping to bring back guitars, amazing work my brother
A lot of great playing but Ross Campbell was my favorite. It felt the most soulful and emotion filled.
I really enjoyed Josh Smith and Ross Campbell's solo's on this. They flowed so good with the track and sounded spontaneous.

I love how they were back to back - Josh who took 2 takes and then improved, and Ross who put in a ton of effort to compose something beautiful
That was awesome. Just what I needed to hear today. Thank ❤
Thanks Paul for these phantastic players! That‘s why we all love guitar music!👏👏👏👍👍👍
Martin Miller’s solo was absolutely beautiful. I have nothing else to say about it

I do. Even though I love his solo, to me he was using this particular rhythmic figure a bit too much.
Jens is such a tasty player!! Hearing him play outside his regular jazz progressions it’s really interesting and makes me think a lot about my own phrasing!

It was such a great solo. Really terrific.
Paul, you've come a long way as a player. Your style has become more unique and defined. Now I can pick you out as easily as pretty much anybody. You should be thrilled at what you've accomplished. Keep up the good work Brother!
I feel like Rabea just naturally fit with the track. Martin put off some major Cliffs of Dover vibes and Mateus is just unbelievably gifted...my goodness...his hands move around the neck like a snake. That was fun to watch. It was super cool to see everyone's takes though. What a cool idea to get people's personality injected into the same track. Great job everyone.
Julia's and Mateus' are my absolute favorites, the feeling, the sound, everything so perfect
