All the upgrades, that Epiphone made to this guitar is to my likings and is well worth the extra money for it. The only thing I don’t care about what they did to this guitar is scabbed it together at the headstock and close to the body of the guitar. So the neck is actually in three pieces with the Ebony fretboard glued down on top of it. When I first saw it, I knew that, that was my exact custom build if I was going to have one built. And I would have expected to have paid much more for a custom build than what this one cost. I have one on its way to me now For $1249 from American music supply. I say get one while you can. Otherwise you will beat yourself up in the future when they are next to impossible to get.

I’m getting one, and I have the first issue, fantastic guitar, worth every penny!!

I have two of the first (long story) and just bought this one; picking it up in 36 hours. :) The first one is a bit better value I feel. This one is indeed on the pricey side.

Let's put this into context, in terms of 'value'. The 2020/21 Epi 'inspired by Gibson' LP Custom - with an ebony fingerboard and gold hardware - was selling at about half that price. The 2020/21 version of the Epi Alex Lifeson model (with a much better Floyd Rose) was selling at about 70% of what this one costs. Can someone tell me how this despecced combo provides value?

Dave said a FRT 3000, which makes it the gold Korean made model. Far better than the FR Special.

I feel like you will never see Lerkst play an Epiphone on stage.

Thanks Dave for heads up! Looks nice and specs are interesting, but paying $1500 (after you add taxes/shipping) for an Epiphone is crazy. You can get a nice preowned Gibson Standard or Classic for that kind of money.

Dave always has the scoop! I really liked the first Alex Lifeson, but not at that price! So the price difference between the first model and this new one justified? Because it seems like you still get more for the first model, and they can still be gotten at the original price (or less if you pick up a good used model) if you look around. Hmm . . . . not sure that gold hardware and a curly top, minus a piezo pickup is a better deal. The curly top is beautiful, but . . . .

I really wanted that last one but couldn’t find one anywhere new. Do you reckon this is the better option? I’d miss the piezo

I’m not spending 1300 on a guitar then have to upgrade the pickups. I canceled my order.

The old one had a graphtech ghost version of a floyd. That is higher end than an OFR and way higher than the cut down 1k epiphone uses on most things. An epi-lite case is also not a hard case. It is softer than the gibson gig bag, but it is a real case/gigbag you could use.

Really gutted I didn’t manage to get my hands on the A L access a few years ago, don’t believe a single one made it to Australia, after seeing Dave’s video about this guitar I was on the phone to my local dealer first thing Monday morning only to be told when they arrive the retail price $3299, I was ready to place a deposit but sadly at that price for a Chinese epiphone gonna have to walk. Not to be as they say.

I picked up the last one and honestly if you've not seen one in person the stock photos did not do them justice at all, cracking guitar and did everything you could ask for.. Couple of good upgrades on this one but no piezo and a 400e up charge?? Cmon lads, who are they kidding lately with these prices

£799 up to £1377 and no piezo. They must think we’re fools

I took mine to Guitar Center and he said it's the Korean-made one, so about mid-grade. Better than the Special, but not as good as the German ones.

I got one. It is a beautiful guitar. Sounds great plays great and looks great. My only issue is the lack of fret work they did. very rough and the edges were sharp. I will finish the fret work when I re string the guitar. I figure a guitar over a thousand bucks should have decent frets. I do feel it is a 700.-800 . dollar guitar sent that way but the name tagged on makes it more. I didn't care about the price I had to have one. Once I get the frets polished to my liking it will be a 1000.+ guitar.

Hi, I just got mine two days ago from Sweetwater, I've never had an Epi before and read that their fretwork was not the best. So I had Sweetwater plek it (I know more $ invested) but it plays fantastic. I'm not a great (just good) player, I'm retired and invested in several Gibson LP's over the past ~5yrs, this Epi is Not a Gibson but for the $, the versatility, and options it's pretty sweet. I'm really, really happy with it

@@jtm2763 It was probably a good call to have sweetwater plek it. You know you are getting nice frets. I have 3 other Epiphone Les pauls and they didn't have any issues with fret work. This is the first one. The frets are level but the ends are sharp. It will be an easy fix i just expected nicer frets for a guitar over a thousand bucks.

@jgmopar You're right about the $1000, and additional fretwork shouldn't be needed. You know I read alot of comments on various guitars, etc. but I rarely reply. For me, I'm not playing in front of an audience it's a hobby, and whichever guitar turns someone on/motivates them to pick it up and play is a personal thing. I only own, now, 7 guitars (of course with each one I've said "that's it no more!"😜), but this one with all the options and the F.Rose on an LP body is pretty cool to me. But I can agree with those who say it's too much for them also. But I'm loving it right now! Take care!

@@jtm2763 I think the New Alex Lifeson Epiphone is worth every Penny. I have no issues with the price and it was not a factor at all. I would have paid more for the guitar. It is awesome. Playing guitar for me now is a hobby. I used to play in bands when I was younger. I have more fun just unwinding relaxing and just strumming along

Yes! I forgot to mention that the Lerxst part was the icing on the cake and made it impossible not to get. I was on a waiting list for the last Epi / Lifeson one at Sweetwater, but they ran out. I also heard they had build quality issues on that one, but nothing factual enough to know if it was true. So when I saw this on Sweetwater I bought it immediately. It is a beautiful guitar. You know I just ordered a black 3way toggle switch cap, I think the black will fit in colorwise better than the white. And I'm not playing in the dark! I also put those Schaller strap locks on all my guitars so I have a gold set on order now. I'm the same, it's only a hobby. It was more fun though when my wife went to the office and I could crank it up, now she works from home and most of the time I can't crank it up (probably better for my ringing ears!) Take care!

Very attractive guitar. Not so much the price. Beautiful top, but the cost is over the top for a Chinese Epiphone. Sorry, not sorry.
