Epiphone Greeny revealed

Музыка

Epiphone Greeny revealed, all the specs, the price and the release date are right here. Essentially #Epiphone have added the greeny name to one of their "limited edition" lineups and it's really interesting... and we have to talk about it... the open book headstock on an Epiphone, are you a fan? Yeah I know they did some Japanese ones back in the day but this is the first time I believe in a modern day Epiphone Guitar. Let me know what you think of it.

I don’t understand the idea of a “cash grab” or when people say bands “sell out” do you not go to work and do your job to get a paycheck? What do you make? I’m not sure what you want. They sell the guitar for the cost it was for them to make it? Sure the company won’t last since theres no profit. But they will say as they fail “at least we didnt grab any cash!”

American made, European made, Asian made, whatever you like. And if you really want something that's like a Gibson, at 1499 USD, you can buy secondhand Gibsons. Nice video Dave by the way

I'm not a relic fan, so I like the Gibson Greeny and I've seen pics of one of the Greeny guitars out in the wild already. It's essentially the same as my Lazarus that I converted to a Greeny tribute except that it's got a nice transparent finish on the back with much more normal looking brown stained wood instead of that awful semi-translucent red paint on the back of my Lazarus. There are some somewhat insignificant differences between the Greeny & Lazarus guitars and the regular 59s in that they use a 1 piece neck with no scarf joint and no extra piece at the heel. Not sure that's worth paying extra for on its own, but it is a difference. I have to admit though, that I do like the Gibson headstock on the Greeny better than the other headstock on my Lazarus.

Great Epi have got this one out, esp with Gibson pick-ups. I like the satin finish a lot (I have the Cherry Burst 1959 Epi LP) so all in all a pretty good buy, I guess? A bit steep for an Epi but then so was the recent SG - prices do tend to go up, not down, so to be expected. I WANT the Peter Green thing but am currently deciding whether to get Monty's Bethnal Greens or the Bare Knuckles PG Blues to put into my Cantrell 'Wino'. Maybe my imagination (or wishful thinking) but I suspect the ebony board will add a touch more 'brightness' to the middle position . . . who knows! I have mainly played a 1968 Gibson LP for the last 40+ years so the ebony board and slightly slimmed neck profile on the Wino suits me perfectly. Thanks for the vid - I saw the earlier FB notice that the chappie took down at the request of the dealer and it generated a lot of discussion within that Epi Group. P.S. I couldn't care less about the headstock or truss rod cover etc.

Pre-video premiere comment: I was pretty sure this model was coming soon given the late night Epiphone KH-V dropped yesterday. I am waiting to see if Kirk will ever play these Epiphones for actually stage and/or recording situations like Dave Grohl has quite often with his on stage and in several videos online. No idea if it’s a stock 100% stock model that Dave is playing, but I’d like to hope that he’s standing behind it and playing it as it is sold. It seems the V has the Gibson pickups at least for the price. Kirk’s V costs a lot less than I was fearing, so maybe the Greeny model will stay around that price. I will still be shocked if that DG-335 will costs anything less than $1500 because Gibson will try to throw some kinds of crap about the V shape holes costing more to produce among other excuses. I’m still waiting to find out if anyone has reported a solid price on the DG-335 since a certain two knuckleheads on another channel announced a couple of weeks back that unofficial preorders are already being taken. Has anyone tried calling around to see if they can get a price for a pre-order? That would be a great stunt for a video lol. Like a video response to the guys at Casino. I haven’t heard any guitarists online say they were successful at getting their pre-order in. I don’t know which dealer would dare risk taking a pre-order early on the most anticipated guitar arguably EVER. So did anyone here buy an Epi KH-V or plan to get a Greeny? I’m still waiting for a volunteer to spot me for an Epiphone DG-335: 😬🙏🏻😇

It seems you forgot to mention one spec Dave, from photos it looks like this one will have one piece neck like the Lazarus unlike the regular 1959 Epiphone that is scarf joint. I think that is a honorable mention spec tho it wont justify the new prices. I already did find the Adam Jones LP models and also the latest Joe B SG hard to justify, this one is no different either. I feel like it was nice buying you Epiphone, we had a good run but its over now :D

I bought the Adam Jones a few months ago. It's worth every damned penny. It plays just as good as my 2022 LP Classic. It has a chunky 70s neck, and SH6 bridge pickup. The "custom" epiphone pro bucker compliments the Duncan quite nicely. It's just a nice, highly specd epi. I will put some locking tuners on it, but that's the only change. Funny though, while I was waiting for it to arrive, I considered getting the Greeny buckers and swapping them. That's not happening.

@@IamtheFerryMan I believe you, lot of ppl say its an awesome guitar. It's just an Epiphone mindset thing that they should be super affordable. It is not the case anymore, they fetch more than entry level Gibsons. The quality is there but if you wants to sell it the 2nd hand market is tight. It has to compete with used Gibson Studios and Standards/Traditionals. It's up to everyone but I would rather buy a used Gibson than a new highend Epiphone because I don't want to lose money on it if I sell it.

@@achill3usoverclocking874 That makes sense for sure. I spend a lot of time buying selling and trading on Craigslist and There's an AJ on there for $1000. I think they should lower the price but I don;t really plan on selling mine. Guitars are a lot like women for me. I know within the first couple of times we get together if I will be keeping it around long term.

Yeah... somehow, I don't think Gibson understands why people buy epiphone guitars. Though what really baffles me is why Gibson is allowed go make signature guitars for a guy who isn't even on their roster.

Lol, the way you described the ownership of the “Greeny” was hilarious the moment you landed on Kirks name lol. I feel the same way because of the 2 iconic players that owned it. Don’t get me wrong he is playing it or fooling us, maybe it’s that 50k Custom Shop copy lol. It’s cool that Epiphone got into the mix, no surprise on that though.

How hard was that now put that headstock on all epiphones . I would bet epiphone sales would probably go up at least 25 percent across the board if they just put that headstock on it. Put that headstock shape on an Epiphone LP Custom for 1000 and shut up and take my money.
