Well done! I'm surprised that LDG hasn't done this. Nevertheless, I have rhe little budget trusdx and opted to keep both for conventional batteries for two reasons: The AA batteries are found everywhere, and no problems with air travel with them as opposed to lithium.

I am sorry that you got scammed. Even if you find a picture on search, what's to keep the scammers from taking an old pic, and just altering that? Every transaction is unfortunately a trust model. Yaesu had a good modulation, no artifacts. Icom was somehow disappointing. The TRC had the typical milspec modulation you would axpect from such a radio, clear voice, no unneeded speech spectrum was transmitted.

Yes! I think the Icom could be improved somehow fiddling either with compression or mic gain. But Yaesu just works

Sorry, the frequency of the spectrum was not centered. However the point was in audio. I would love to have an S-meter on that receiver to compare. Other than that, the spectrum is not big deal to do comparisons I think

I am tempted to buy but perhaps modern radio designs have more capacities for cheaper(?) I do love the military design, I understand this unit was produced for Dutch special forces in small numbers. Or use this more cheaper and effective: a.aliexpress.com/_Ey9yh6T I had same issue once and played adult video sounds on top of the radio station thta was used by that ood lady from 7am up to 14pm good luck

@@tijumrz you select the frequency your neighbor uses. You connect a player with a male to male 3.5mm jack. You can use an old mp3 player. Then push play and it will output that music,content or just blanc audio if nothing is played. You have to connect an antenna to this device or at least a wire 3meters or so to the center pin before you connect it

I think performance is equal, but as it is a sticker antenna it must be correclty polarized (vertical or horizontal) i think all meshtastic antennas are usually vertical. Again as the short antenna I show on this video, it is outiside and in better posstionikg than any other antenna you may put inside the housing and beside electronics and pcb…

@@svofski I have made some autonomous devices with Geetech V3 and T-Beam. But you end up spending almost same money as T-Deck. Imho the only drawback of the T-deck is the screen… it is too much for what is being actually displayed… and draws a lot of battery. Thankfully looks like there is some promising update that will deliver a lot of functionalities to this device and a better UX
