Grintek TR178B military radio

This is a very special military radio. It covers the whole HF band LSB, USB and CW. It works with a voltage of 9 to 32V, leading to a HF output of 10 W at 12V and
25 W at 24V. It also has frequency hopping and ALE, although for that you need the automatic antenna tuner.
I think this radio was designed for the South African army, however my unit comes from Peru.
I have been through many issues with this radio. No power up. Screen failure, and then AGC problems. I have been tackling them all with the help of many radio friends. I want to say thank you to Alex, Chris and Jose. Guys you are awesome. I decided to share all this information so it can be helpful in the event somebody is having same issues.

I love the size of the radio but sadly mine does not power on. Any other tips where to look if it does not power on? Front switch needed cleaning, replaced fuse and IRF9521 on rear. Have voltage on side red wire.

Mate this radio is cursed. Today I connected a 24V battery and now I have no power. Never ending story. In your case I would change caps in the psu module. I don’t know much really but sometimes there is luck
