PRC-2000 manpack radio
This manpack radio was built in Great Britain by M.E.L. / Philips. It is considered the evolution of the PRC-600: Aluminum instead of plastic, a more friendly interface and some protection in the circuit boards, adding a layer of epoxi.
Battery pack is made out NICd cells. Unit works at 14.5V
The built in antenna tuner tunes only whip antennas. If you use other antennas, like vehicle or wire antennas, the BNC / BNC-link between transceiver and tuner is removed, and the antenna is connected directly to the radio output. Of course it has to be previously tuned
It has a built in speech processor with VOGAD. So even if you are not talking there is some rd going out (silence amplification?) not a known workaround for this that I know…
A special handset can operate nine of the ten memory channels. It can be remote controlled from up to 3 km distance.
There is not know gooseneck for this radio, so after some research Tony Geuns showed my his solution. It is an adapter used for cb antennas. It justa works. Info in the video.

@@PatrickBrenier Bonjour, très difficile à trouver,il faut lire les petites annonces tous les jours, et surtout, il faut aller à Friedrichshafen , le seul endroit ou j'en ai vu, presque tous les ans, un exemplaire, mais ce n'est pas garanti.73s

Es posible encontrarlos. De vez en cuando aparecen por ebay. Lo ideal es preguntar en grupos de aficionados a la radio militar y esperar que alguien quiera desprenderse de uno. Estan en torno a los 1500€. Los precios están subiendo ahora que cada vez hay menos

Here and there. Ebay… One you buy once to somebody and you behave then seller is likely to be offering more pieces to you
