I guess another small advantage the atv has is that when you aren’t working you can go on trail rides and stuff so it’s a toy that has some use around the property

Beautiful work but I have two criticisms I hope you won't be offended by, The first is grinding the two high spots off the mushroom on the back instead of cutting it square, that adds an extra 8th of an inch or so to your axe, The second is mineral oil and beeswax not olive oil You're running the risk of it going rancid and your axe smelling terrible. That is especially true with cutting boards.

Pretty much, if you can afford to get a stihl or Husqvarna, get em. My plan is to get a holz, make and save $, then upgrade in due time

Very informative video. Ive got both a quad and a tractor (Polaris sportsman 500 and a Farmall Cub) and the cub, despite being 1/2 the tractor an 8n is will work circles around the quad when it comes to hard work. The quad is very capable in its own right, (it plows snow much better anyways lol) but also breaks alot more then the tractor. We actually just bought a 45 2n to do some stuff that the cub just dont have the ass for as well as having the 3pt and standard PTO. But enough rambling i enjoyed your video

What idiot do on eBay is try to find anything that resembles less.a name and then do a little research trying to find a price. Once they decide on a price that is it. I used to tell people that got their price from a book - sell it to the book. Anything is worth what you get for it. Nothing more or

Looks like they were using it like a maul. Unfortunately I did that with my axe a couple times banging it against a wedge before I got my splitting maul. Guilty. I know better now though and now have the proper tools for the job.

Oh lord, get a grip. You’re not a martyr for freedom - you sound like just another self-absorbed brat with main character syndrome. Not sure who asked you to “set an example” with your life. That seems like a staggeringly arrogant endeavor to me. But if you’re going to attempt it, only to end up on the run for cannabis (in 2024 for gods sake!), I’d think only a rather deluded individual would see that as anything but a catastrophic failure. Instead of another excuse to lecture the world on how right you are about everything. If you break the law and get caught that doesn’t mean the legal system is corrupt, it means you screwed up. It happens, we all screw up. And we all live with all manner of unfairness and stuff that doesn’t make sense. That’s not tyranny, that’s just called being an adult. It is rather amusing though that it is always the ones who prattle on about self-sufficiency and personal responsibility who lose their damn minds and blame everyone else when confronted with the entirely predictable consequences of their actions. Hope you get things sorted out.

A while back I had surgery and laid in bed recouping and found this video. Maybe two years ago. I’ve been back to this video 30 times since, I store the link in my notes. This fella’s technical prowess and care is tremendous, I’ve learned quite a lot from it. He’s on the younger side too, I appreciate there being a representative of my generation that lives like this. Props!
