Now where I grew up there was a stream just like that. The villiage I now live in had their water resivour (not spelt right) about 5 miles from my parents home. I was up there all the time. The village only checked on it during the warmer months. Road wasn't plowed in the winter. The creek crossed the road in 2 places. The place nearest the dam they kept the rocks level and drove through the stream. When spring came the water would wash out about 5 feet of the road next to the 4ft culvert. They have since refaced the dam and more people live on that seasonal road. I may take a trip up to the dam next time I visit my dad. I think a 4-wheeler just became ESSENTIAL to homesteading. Great video!!!

Glad you guys were up on high ground! Maybe you should consider a new road or at least a roadification in those places that are low and prone to being washed out . It looks as though it is close to the river/creek grade and future flooding should be expected to increase as global warming continues. Those are some great building rocks BTW!

Just thinking about how to get the culverts cleaned out. Maybe run a line around the end of culvert multiple times so that it rolls as your sucking on it & maybe the rocks won't plug it off. Probably have to double line as I haven't seen much winching equipment. Anchor up high on one of the nearby tree trunks w a snatch block on live end to the tractor or truck??

Hey, with four of you it's only 250,000 hours each! No problem! Amazing job you all did. A creek cuts through our 6 acres but the house is on the paved road side. When it rains the creek RAGES, like if you fell in you'd be ground to a pulp. A few hours later you can tiptoe across it again. Huge rocks wash up, wash away again. I've pulled out some for building material. Sometimes interesting wood for carving washes up too! Hope you get the road fixed soon, good luck.
