Unfortunately too many people have gotten to a place where the thought is "I want therefore I need". Having enough is a wonderful place to be. You have a place to do your work, food for your belly and a guitar for entertainment and most importantly, each other. You are the wealthiest of people, thanks for sharing. It looks great and I look forward to seeing you continue to develop and appreciate your dreams.

Don’t sweat the petty people who would criticize your shop and its furnishings. Everything in it is a testament to your skill and determination. I’d much prefer neighbors like you two over the guy with the fully furnished million square foot shop filled with things he bought. You’re living the dream, don’t be embarrassed. I’ve looked through your Etsy shop. Amazing skills! If you ever start making other tools like hunting knives or draw knives I’d love the opportunity to purchase one.

You should be proud of that building, I was a carpenter for about 27 years so perhaps I see more than a lot of people. The first thing I noticed was the X bracing under the shop looks like where the two braces come together at a 90 degree corner you mitered them together like crown molding. Beautiful attention to detail ! Then the little detail cuts on the facia boards and the rafter profiles, nice. And if you put up drywall think of all the places for tools lost. This space was designed to be functional and efficient and when those two elements are so well combined beauty is a consequential by product . Thanks for the new video, always appreciated, Lee

It takes a lot of courage, determination, and self-belief to achieve what you have so far. You should be rightly proud of this and never apologise for working hard to overcome adversity... that takes real character. Best Wishes, Brendan.

I like how you hung the frame of the building to locate all your posts rather than the other way around. On a rocky slope that seems like a very smart idea. So much more I could say but really I just love what you are doing including your music. Cheers

Came home from travel to find my rough-out adze and cherry wood spatula. The adze and spatula are wonderful and wonderfully made. The note added a very personal touch. Presently surprised by the leather adze cover. Simple, functional and very nicely done. Watching this video helps me understand the importance of the shop, the amount of work and craftsmanship that went into your products. I will start using them right away.

I think your shop looks great, showcases your craftsmanship, not to mention the design is awesome. A building should be able to serve several purposes. I'm sure all the rock on your property can be aggravating at times, but I also know its great to have such a large amount of it on hand for building walls and structures.

Really appreciate the words about community from some of your other videos. Something that’s been on my mind for quite some time but couldn’t quite put my finger on it. When you talk about it, it makes a lot of sense and It is definitely lacking today especially including children in that sense of community cause they are the future and haven’t experienced it. What an extraordinary couple. A guy can live like that, but most women would not tolerate such a life. Lucky man to have such a partner! Wish I had money to send you...but thanks for sharing your stories and talent. (Edit) I am concerned that you have not received any stimulus money. It most certainly is NOT a government hand out, it’s merely our own damn tax money back. I know other people and small businesses that have been screwed hard by Uncle Sam by receiving nothing while large corporations are feeding heavily off the public trough. Don’t know who you can call but you two deserve that money, it’s YOUR money, not a handout. Take it, spend it, improve your life. And ours by continuing to share! Thanks again.

Well I've seen others of your videos, and learned a lot. I've enjoyed the information on carving and sharpening etc. But carving out a place, and learning to survive and thrive is very important. I look at the world we live in and I know that the city is no place for us to be. It is no place to raise a family. We don't know what will come next in this world but being out in God's creation will allow you to be free from many of the taints that plague society these days. It may not seem like freedom sometimes, but just know that what you have, even though its a struggle, is freedom that many long for, but don't know how to get. Because of this video I am subscribing. Don't worry about appearances, it's good for people to finally see authenticity. I'll pray for you two and wish for you every success in the future. God Bless!

Nothing wrong with your shop, it's pretty awesome imo. It's not easy having to do things like that without a lot of money. Most people don't understand what it's like to live like that but some of us do. I'd rather live out in the woods where things can be harsh sometimes than in some city where everything is easy. I've had it both ways and wouldn't leave my woods for anything.
