Just want to say I am enjoying you video's very much. I can only imagine it can be hard to put yourself out there like that. One tip I have found helpful over the years is when toting water, if you put a plastic bag in the bucket and fill it then you can tie the top when it's full. That way you can carry it with out it sloshing all over you. Fun day letting the little kid we all have in us come out to play.

I am glad to see you , I too had been wondering on your situation , weird world now days . Your videos have a healing property to them ,takes me back to our early years of marriage , 40 yrs. ago . Our three sons were quite adept at ways to bust up themselves and each others! They used large feed sacks stuffed with grass hay . We don't have rocks and trees , just yucca plants , so ski goggles were mandatory ! Then came pulling each other behind horses ,on a scoop shovel . They are adults now but I won't call them grownups yet. They are still wildlings , they ruined another scoop shovel last week ! I do enjoy a look into a lifestyle I miss so much , I built selfbows and made knives . I am still doing some of my trade as hobbies but the farming takes so much time. My sons are so much better from the skills they learned young , working and creating with your hands completes your being . Thank you so very much , your happiness is so healing.

Hi again,, i must say, you both have beautiful souls, i've been offline for several months, i was actually laid off work,, and it was sort of a blessing.. i walked away from my 400,000.00 house, (left the house for my niece to live in for 9 months, with the bills all paid) and i went to live in a friends Walk In cabin,, it's literally a pathway into the middle of nowhere that's just over two hours off a 4 wheeler trail, i hiked in all my gear, all my food, supplies, hand tools, etc, several trips yes,, and i made that my home during the pandemic,, best way to clear your mind, is to disappear into nature and let her lead your way.. i've missed watching your channel most out of all the tv shows and online stuff and so on,, i have thought of you both many many times, it's your simple ways that guided my day to day chores and tasks, anyways,, i'm glad you are both doing well and still videoing your day's experiences, and i'm glad i'm able to check in on your postings once again,,, tysm,, take great care,, Robert..

Brings back memories, when we first got married 37 yrs ago we didnt have a well for 2 yrs, so we hauled water from an artesion well a 1/4 mile away. Hot summer and freezing winter. Keeps one humble and you learn about what you really need in life. People thought we were crazy but we've stayed the course and still live frugally. Love your videos, keep them coming. I still end up in my unheated wood shop making things to get by. Peace and Blessings.

I just wanted to let you know that I am a blade smith and started carving spoons about a month ago. I found your channel and started watching to learn more. I thought I was good at getting an edge on a piece of steel(been making knives for about 6 years). Watching you make an adz and use it to carve a walnut bowl I realized I actually was not very good. So I watched your video on sharpening what an eye opener, I had bought a Fiskars hatchet on your recommendation (great little hatchet) and that was the first tool I sharpened. It is so sharp it scares me a little. I have made 2 other carving knives for spoons and sharpened them as well. Carving turned from a laborious process to a pleasure. Thank you very much, your efforts have changed my life in a positive way, to me that means that you being on this planet makes it a better place.

I love this channel. I love your scrappy work ethic. I predict that you will at some point make more money from KZread than you make from Etsy. You need to start a Patreon account. As a fellow YTer I make the bulk of my income from Patreon supporters. They believe in what I'm doing as most of your viewers do for you. I'm guessing that you haven't gone down this road yet because you are proud of being able to make in on your own. Well stay proud. You've certainly proven your grit. I don't want a bowl or an adze. I want to see you get your Blacksmith shop up and running. I would pay you money to see that. So, give me a Patreon link and I'll give you $100 and hopefully see that shop happen faster. I'm excited to see what you can achieve.

I don't know if it's something you'd want to do, but if you want to keep getting out some content even when you are just working on forging and carving, I think an Instagram account would work great to show some little things that aren't big enough to make it into a video. You could do little pictures of what you made, etc. Also if you're thinking about it just from a business stand point, I think it's a great way to bring more people to your etsy page!

Hi from Oxford, England! I love your channel and have been checking back regularly for the past month or so because your vids are so beautifully filmed, and the music really fills a place in my heart and mind that no other does. My parter and I are currently working towards a homestead, which will include self-sustainability and a wildlife project. We’re not there yet, but you guys are an inspiration. A Ford 8N is also part of the dream (for me, at least!). Maybe I’ll even brew my own fuel! ;) I guessed you guys were busy, and obviously still are, so no need to respond. I’m using these strange times to develop my woodworking, engineering & metalwork skills. It feels like my purpose, to choose a new project and see it to completion. I built a workshop that’s basically a practice for a house, You guys really helped with all these things. Love from across the pond. x

The snow we been getting in this region didn't seem wet enough for good sleigh action but you two gave it a good try. Glad to see you are all right I was starting to worry a bit.

I believe we got more snow on this side of the state but you had the lower temps if I read that thermometer right.I thought I saw something like negative 12. I'm gonna have to go back and look at that again. Ah went back and checked, I was looking at the C side. We had one night it hit 1°, but that was our lowest and we got 11.5 " of snow.

That is a lot of snow. We only had about four or 5 inches. But we did see one night of 12° below and quite a few days that barely made it to 8°. But most of it has melted now and spring is just around the corner.
