Hi, I am new to this. I was wondering if I could use my Cricut for cutting faux leather (not engrave, but cut around and through the fabric). Can I do this with a deep point blade or is this not possible with faux leather?
@cleversomeday14 сағат бұрын
I don't have a lot of experience with faux leather and would refer you to Amy Romeu (blog, youtube, Facebook groups) who specializes in that.

Is vegetable leather the same as tooled leather?
@cleversomeday3 күн бұрын
Vegetable tanned leather, or veg tan for short, is the type of natural tooling leather used in this process.

I keep trying this step by step. It just won't let me slice.
@cleversomeday14 күн бұрын
Slice only works with exactly 2 layers (engraving or not), so if your SVG is more than one layer you need to either remove layers or weld layers together depending on how your converter structures the SVG.

slicing only works with 2 layers, so be sure you have reduced your SVG to just one layer either by deleting layers or welding layers together, depending on how the converter you used configures the layers.

Have you changed machines since this video was first published? Thanks again!

I watched the video at least 5 times, took notes and can't figure out why when I get to the last step Select All to bring in the dummy circle I don't get the choice to then turn off the blank shape, When you attach there doesn't seem to be a way to separate in order to grab the blank circle. Is there a step out of order? Thanks~

Click the small triangle next to the attached set to expand the set (which DS has just recently started condensing by default) and then you can click the eye on the blank's layer.

Who exactly spends $200K to draw a car on a piece of leather? You think we'll buy a "Computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) machine"? Maybe you could VET your watchers by starting off your videos by pointing out that they'll need a couple $ million bucks to test your method and then watch your viewers drop off to a minus ZERO.

The vast majority of my viewers already own Cricut machines, which typically cost between $200 and $400.

The instructions in the video are for placing the blank at 1,1. If you want to place at 3,3, use x= 3, y=3 when you get to the placement of the blank at around 2:10 on the video.

Have you tried this with something like self adhesive laminate sheets? My thought is something similar to a label maker, where the braille is on a sticker. But I'm not sure if the Laminate sheet would hold the bump as well as a proper braille embosser would. (I plan on trying this myself, as soon as I get the right tool.)
