Hi there! Excelent tutorial. Wondering if I could open this SVG saved files on my Mac illustrator. I know I can only operate the app through my iPhone, but I’d love to do some editing on the file through my laptop illustrator. Read you could download the files through iTunes before... not anymore with the updates. Can I download this svg files somehow in my computer or no way!?

Sure. At about the 3 minute mark in the video you will see the process. I use DropBox, but notice that AdobeCC is also an option. There also seems to be an option to save as .ai so should be no problem getting these files to Adobe Illustrator.

Can you choose draw instead of cut? Thank you. I am not creative, but I would love to draw with my cricut maker. I loved your boot drawing video?

You can choose draw, but would only get an outline, not a nice sketched look like in the boot video. Another option is to use a line fill but for that you need 3rd party software like Inkscape.

There's really not much to show. If you have Designer Edition, bring it in like any other SVG. If you have basic edition, use jpg and then trace it with the default settings.

yes, as stated above, Imaengine is an iOS app, meaning it is only for iPhone or iPad

When I press the open in on the right side. a screen comes up and says I have to pay 2.99. I do not know if they r good. Do you know if it’s good and do they offer you more to do on the app. I don’t wanna waste my money if it’s not gonna work right. Tell me what you think please thank you very much for your help

Thank you so much for this tutorial! An issue I have come across is when saving as a PNG to my camera roll and then uploading to DS - even though I have hidden the background (made transparent) it does not upload to DS as transparent (both on ipad and iphone.) Any idea what I’m doing wrong? I *think* I have followed the video correctly... thank you : )

Its possible that ImaEngine or Apple changed something, but there's no need to use PNG any more since you can upload SVGs to the DS app.

imaengine is for iphones and ipads only. there is not a Windows version. There are web apps like picsvg and rapidresizer you can try.

How would I delete the background once I transfer to design space?

Its best to delete the background before you transfer to design space (imaengine has an eraser tool) or on the way in with the eraser tool in DS. Once its in DS you could slice or hide contour but that's much harder.

When I save my svg to Dropbox or iZip and open it with Design Space I get a box around it and lines in the svg file. They don’t show in my saved svg file but they come up in my DS. I have tried all day literally to get it to not do this.

hmmm. I've not had this happen, but the box could be the extra layer if you didn't remove it so check the layers panel for that. Extra lines would be a bigger issue. I have had it happen from other SVGs on my computer and don't know a fix. Your best bet would be to just use the transparent PNG instead. (as I show in the video anyway since SVGs couldn't be uploaded to the DS app yet)

CleverSomeday I can use the png but I want it to cut the colors out. Not just the outline. I’ve tried deleting the layers and nothing is working.

If the lines are the outlines of the pieces then that is normal as DS always outlines cuttable shapes. The only way to get rid of them is to temporarily flatten or set to print. You are still probably going to have to take it into Inkscape or AI so you can combine color layers.

CleverSomeday they are not. One is a box around the entire design. The others are broken lines around the outline of the design. A centimeter or two outside. Wish I could upload a picture so you can see it.

Share button is at bottom right of the edit area. You might have to x out of the layers panel to get to it.

Imaengine developers released a new App, for B&W vectorization, 'Vinilo' on App Store ,it's free for now.

no, you can use any of the methods you normally use to save/store SVGs by using the Open in button.

Is an iOS app. Only works on an iPhone or iPad.

When I click on PNG and click the camera is still blocking me and when I click on open in there still blocking me they won’t let me do no more
