Embossing with the Cricut - Folder Style
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
How to get great folder style embossing with the Debossing Tip in the Cricut Maker. IMPORTANT. As of v6.10, Cricut has removed the ability to leave the mat loaded as shown in the video. Continue reading for new instructions, related links, etc.
Please call Cricut at 877 727 4288 (USA) or contact them via help.cricut.com/hc/en-us/requ... to let them know the ability to keep the mat loaded, as in versions 6.5-6.10, is important to you.
The current workaround as of version 7.25:
Please note that in order to keep the mat loaded on a computer, you must be using a USB connection.
IMPORTANT: Be sure to save your file before clicking Make it
-Once the cutting mat is completed and you see the large check mark in the center of the screen, unplug the USB cable that connects your computer to your Cricut, from either end.
-Click on Cancel in the lower right and then Yes at the top. That will bring you back to the Prepare screen.
-Choose the next mat from the left hand side of the Prepare screen.
-Plug the USB cable back in and click Continue.
-Perform the next steps per the video.
-Repeat the disconnecting/reconnecting process for each subsequent mat
(Unplug USB BEFORE pressing Done or Cancel on the checkmark screen. Plug it back in when you are on the Prepare Screen BEFORE you press Continue) until all desired runs are complete.
If you are having trouble keeping the mat loaded, disable Bluetooth or unpair your Maker, and, of course, you can still use the 2017 method (video linked below) if you are unable to keep the mat loaded.

You have a gift. Not just great skill with the Cricut, but your calm, clear directions that are so well thought out and delivered for any learner's skill level. Thanks for the video! You answered several of my questions today with this one video.
This is great! I'm awarding you the patience award for coming up with all of these clear and thorough steps to get an extra special technique that wouldn't normally be possible.
I'm usually too impatient to watch a video this long but was mesmerised by how clearly and calmly you explained the process - thank you! You have a new subscriber! 🙂
Shut the front door! This is an amazing cricut hack. Love how you explained everything so crisp and to the point without sharing your life stories 😂 amazing tutorial!
FINALLY! I found your video. Have spent the last three days trying to figure out debossing on my new Cricut. Not much help on their website and few design downloads on that appealed to me. Thank you SO MUCH! -- Had to edit my comment after watching the entire video -- You have saved the life of my Crcut!!! I have done crafting for more years than I care to admit (turned 78 this year!) -- but this Cricut machine almost got the best of me! Not now -- and tomorrow, I'm going to use your video, step by step, and show this annoying cutting maching who's the boss!!! It doesn't know how close it was to the recycling truck on Monday!!! Thank you again! And, as reqested, I've liked the video and subscribed! Can't wait to watch your other tutorials! (Another note: I didn't find myself snapping out of a daze in the middle, thinking about what I'm going to cook for dinner like I do on so many "wandering" videos by other people!)
Wow. What a brilliant idea! Thanks so much! I can't wait to watch more of your content!!
Very clever to figure this out. Love it and can’t wait to try it. So nice to get a deeper embossing.
I love this. It will add a whole new dimension to my card designs.
I marvel at your ingenuity!
This is VERY CLEVER! Thanks for the detailed tutorial!
Yes! I was thinking this might be an option with the new offset feature. I really wanted to try your other method but didn't have the software. Thank you so much for sharing this. You are awesome!
Genius! This was a suggested video and for once KZread got it right 😉 Just wow! Now I can’t wait to explore your other content.
Wow, what a genius technique! Thank you for all the work you’ve done figuring this out-and sharing with us! Cant wait to try this out.
How wonderful! I've been wanting to emboss for a very long time. I love this. You have a wonderful voice and a way of making it simple.
Thank you for this stimulating video. I look forward to adapting this technique to support the detailed parts that go into my paper scuptures. You have a clear, logical and thorough way of presenting.
Omg! How COOL!!!! Thank you for such a great tutorial. No fluff just straight to the point. Love it!

Another cool technique to try! I'll be doing this tomorrow! Thanks Kay!
What a wonderful technique! Love it and thank you for sharing it!
Thank you for sharing this tutorial with us. It was wonderfully done. I can't wait to try it!
I don't have a Cricut, but I never miss one of your videos. I have been following you for years. I always learn something. Thank you for sharing all of your techniques and ideas. Also, I too use a wooden ruler when I use my Silhouette!
You are very talented. What a wonderful job explaining this video. Can’t wait to try it. Thank you.
I've been considering buying a Cricut to use just for cutting, but now that I've seen that it can be used for embossing too I'll definitely get one. Thank you for a terrific video.
This is brilliant! I have been working on greeting cards for about a year using cricut maker 3 and a cuddle bug for embossing. This is magical. Thank you so much!
I learned to emboss years ago. Enjoyed doing it with mom & sisters. Those were the good ole days!
Thank you for sharing your creativity with us!
Expecting bad weather this weekend. I know what I will be doing. This looks fabulous.
Thank you. The most clear and non rushed presentation of Cricut instructions I have found. Thumbs up and subscribed!
Had to subscribe! So beautiful, perfect step by step instructions and your voice is just so calming.😌
Mind blowing ingenuity! Well done You!!!
Thank you for this really clear video! Keep up the good work!
Thank you for demystifying this process!
Kay, you're so clever! super nice job!!!
🤯 love your style of teaching.
You are so clever to figure this out. I bought the Debo’s tip when I bought my maker and tried it once and wasn’t very impressed lol (sorry about the pun). So many things I’ve wanted to do have needed workarounds and I often question if it was worth all that money. Hopefully there are more clever people like you out there to figure these things out and make the machines more user friendly ❤️🇦🇺
You are some kind of magical genius! WOW! Thank you for sharing this--an amazing feat, as I can only imagine the considerable "think" time, along with trial and error, until you perfected this method. I tip my hat!
Thank you for your concise instructions and for sharing this technique. Great video.
Thank you so very much for this tutorial is is So incredibly succinct and super helpful! I sooo very much appreciate people like you who take the time to make tutorials like this! Thaaaank You!
You are very clever! what an elegant design and you have opened up new possibilities for all of us. Thank you for sharing your tips!
Once again, you’re a genius ❤️ thank you!
Thank you so much for this wonderful video! I knew if someone was going to offer this, mit would be you! Just great! Loved it and cannot wait to try it!
Exceptional tutorial! I purchased a debossing tip a while ago but only used it for debossing. I've been wanting to do this for a while but couldn't find anything online to go through the steps with any clarity. Thanks for sharing...especially with what type of cardstock to use!
Very special tutorial. Thank you very much!
So glad I found this Cricut emboss tutorial. You first taught me this method when I bought my Curio many years ago and I was happy with results. I definitely want to try it with my Cricut Maker and see the results. Thank you for the clear steps we need to use to get the best outcome.
WOW, thank you for sharing this technique. It is really helpful and very useful. Good tips. Thanks again.
Very clever! Thank you Kay.
WOW Magic . Nicely done . Thank you Happy crafting xxxxxx
Excellent directions! I love that you voiced over your actions because it was so clear and easy to understand rather than talking while you're actually making the project. So professional. I still don't understand what the three dots were for, though. I have wondered if mirroring and using the back of a deboss would emboss, and yes, it does, but you have done all the work for us in figuring out the exact technique! I'll watch again and again till I get it right! Thank you.
Subscribed! Awesome and most clever technique from all the videos I've seen so far. Your work is awesome, I definitely enjoyed seeing that raised design!
Thanks so much, Kay! Can't wait to try it!
thanks so much for figuring out an efficient way to do it!

The amount of effort, time and multiple experiments is so bizzare ✨😍 a true genius indeed! Wonder if you can level it up with foiling that was mind-blowing to see 🤯 but fr hands down! All hail the wizard of cricut 💖😍

Yes, you can add foiling. How you do that exactly will depend which side you want the foil on and where you want it.
Amazing Embossing Folding Style Cricut Tutorial Girl! Saving This Tutorial For Future Reference. 🤩🤩🤩
Truly clever! Glad I found this video. I don't have a Maker yet, still using my Explore, but this is a project I want to do when I get a Maker. Thank you so much! Your videos make my designs sophisticated and desirable.
This is a really appreciated tutorial. Am very new to using the Cricut and just learning to navigate and understand all the features. This process is totally over my head at this time, but like anything else, once you follow step by step and apply the process it will be much easier to understand and almost become second nature. Thank You

Love this cannot wait to try it
Brilliant tutorial thankyou
Awesome. Great tutorial style, very though, thank you!
Brilliant workflow, thank you for that :)
This is so cool, I can't wait to try it
Love this can't wait to try it.
May be my second time commenting, but I want to say thank you once more! I am going to try doing this sometime next week! Great video!
This is so genius! I did have to watch this twice for the offset tool, you have written on the right side 0.02 while verbally saying -0.02, I would recommend putting -0.02 in the box to the right for the hearing impaired. I cannot WAIT to make cards with this idea! So cool!!!

acck. sorry about that error, and the fact that KZread videos can't be corrected without starting over.
OMG you’re so smart and amazing!!
Thank you so much for this video! Phenomenal
I cannot wait to try this out!! Thanks for your video, it is really informative :)

Many thanks very helpful
Amazing as always.... you are so clever ( always not some day)
Thank you so much!
this is awesome!! Thank you!
I love the idea of a ruler to hold the mat in the machine 💡
Thank you! I just bought the tip and no idea where to begin, came across this video and loved how you explained everything! I never used the X and Y functions till now too and I've had my Cricut for a couple years. I just did my first practice run and it sure it so much cheaper than buying the Sizzix, grant all machines have their own amazing things, but I didn't think I would really use that, so I went this route and already am happy with the outcome. Thank you again!
Excellent, excellent tutorial. The technique is exactly what I have been wanting to do and you present the material in a very efficient, precise, and easy-to-follow way. Thank you for a great tut.
