    (Please don't take this wrong, I was just sitting here trying to think how this could work, and these absurd ideas came to mind. The Bible, because of what it is, does not provide the lessons that school children in school classes. People should go to church to learn the lessons found in the Bible.) I guess in Civic class or Physiology class they might bring up that the Bible does not put a limit on how long after conception abortion is, in some cases, required: Deuteronomy 21:18-21 “If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey the voice of his father or the voice of his mother, and, though they discipline him, will not listen to them, then his father and his mother shall take hold of him and bring him out to the elders of his city at the gate of the place where he lives, and they shall say to the elders of his city, ‘This our son is stubborn and rebellious; he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton and a drunkard.’ Then all the men of the city shall stone him to death with stones. So you shall purge the evil from your midst, and all Israel shall hear, and fear. (The words are different in the various versions of the Bible I have on my computer, but they all mean the same thing.) In Math class they could use Kings 7:23 to prove pi equals 3. Teaching young children Ethics, 2 Kings 2:24 would teach about cursing and God's love for children. How about a second or third grade History class would be appropriate for teaching the history of Lot offering his two virgin daughters to the mob, and what happens after the Lot leaves Sodom and went to stay in the cave in the mountains with his two virgin daughters who later came down the mountain pregnant! Lots of great lessons that could be used.

    I can't build the right church, but we can. One church I belonged to had many people who served on Sunday and a good amount came from the homeless families and their children we served. They were the hands as others brought the coffee grounds and goodies. We also realized the need for sandwiches on Sunday. I now live far away and miss that congregation who were willing to ask those in need if they would like to help.

    I've been an atheist for my whole life. My parents graciously allowed me to seek my own path and never took me to church or forced me into Christianity. It later made me curious of all religions, so I read some religious texts to see what the hubbub was all about. Old and New Testament, a translation of the Torah, Quran, most of the Vedas....and many older religions. WAY older. Never heard angry religious folks outside of Islam and Christianity. It's crazy. I can't tell the 'good' ones from the phonies. Therefore I classify them all in the same manner.

    Our community has a fund all the churches contribute to fo a one-time gift to someone who asks a different pastor each month is in charge of the fund checkbook. If you ask for lodging they will pay the motel, diapers they will get them from the store, gas they will fill your tank etc. Recently our church discussed a shower but rejected laundry because church members wash but forget to dry.

    I agree, they should teach from the Bible, far far from the Bible. I wrote the following before listening to all of your presentation. You filled in many of the examples that I omitted due to no one wanting to read all of this. Thank you for your explanation of the issue. People fled from Great Britain and Europe because the persecution of people who did not want to worship in the manner of the state religion. The pilgrims/puritans that school children learned about at least when I went to school, were outlaws in England. That's something we weren't taught in school. Other groups followed because the way they wanted to worship was unacceptable in the countries they left. Almost none of these groups would agree to follow the practices of any other group. The Catholics would reject the Protestant sects that rejected the Pope. Maryland and Virginia demonstrated that Many other examples exist concerning other groups. So, when the founders were putting together the Constitution, and states pointed out the need for a Bill of Rights, a key demand was that the United States must not have a state religion that would alienate a large portion of the population, no matter which sect was chosen.

    Luke 11:5-13 (ESV): 5 And he said to them, “Which of you who has a friend will go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves, 6 for a friend of mine has arrived on a journey, and I have nothing to set before him’; 7 and he will answer from within, ‘Do not bother me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed. I cannot get up and give you anything’? 8 I tell you, though he will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his impudence he will rise and give him whatever he needs. 9 And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. 11 What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent; 12 or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? 13 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” This is my favorite passage from childhood. I start a little earlier than most.

    Can't anyone else see 2Thess2:11 as fulfilled today? Like literally? "THEY SHALL BELIEVE THE LIE." I saw this passage as Trump years ago and did a study to see how everything up until the return of Jesus is fulfilled. It is finished! Jesus is coming, the church is fallen, the Image of the Beast is "worshiped", the little horn from Daniel is revealed, the 70th week is almost over. I love Jesus. I've been a born-again gay Jew for 42 years. The Holy Spirit is guiding me to see, but nobody sees. It's the Image of the Beast, bringing false prophets and thieves. Rev 13:11-16 & Rev 18 are America. Two horns like a lamb are right-wing Christians and Catholics. The Image is right in front of you. Compare Exodus & Rev 13:16 & Matt 5:29. The Mark of the Beast is SIN. It's on us when we're born. The Mark is symbolic but the Image is real. What's in our mind. What's our right hand given to (time, money and strength). Bigotry and idolatry killed Christianity. Rev 18:4 is calling

    Christ taught via parable…telling stories that were designed to get people to think and realize for themselves to choose love and Grace. Christ has never forced his followers to do anything. He offers free choice…because, I believe he wants us to chose Him, choose Love, choose Grace, choose kindness. I thank god for your pastoring, your speaking the truth. How refreshing!!

    They talk a good game about having a personal relationship with God but also think God wants a “Christian culture “ to make people behave (that particular morality you’re speaking of). And they hear directly from God. Oddly God says different things to me but then I don’t have auditory hallucinations.

    Shouldn't you start with providing evidence that Jesus actually existed and that all occurred as claimed in the scriptures. Otherwise, it's all a just some account of the lively imagination of the authors of the scriptures. Extraordinary claims need extraordinary evidence and related to the God business, so far I've seen none.

    What I find amusing, you pick out different churches to say See, look at them, aren't you glad we are not like them. Then you go on and claim how much your church does for everyone. Reminds me of the Pharisee prayer in Scripture. "God, I thank you that I am not like other people who steal, cheat, or take part in adultery, or even like this tax collector".

    Trump cannot tell a good Christian (you) from a Trump Christian (them). You put your future at risk by not condemning the Trump Christians. NO ONE, not even me, can tell you apart. Why should anyone care to separate the good from the bad when you do not? It makes you indistinguishable from them.

    I do like Hebrews 13:2, but I think we all know most of the time that it's not an angel. Which is why I tend to go with "whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." because as far as I see it every one of those people in that video was given a huge opportunity. They had the chance to serve Jesus. We all fall short. We all need to do better most of the time. Even the man who acted righteously in this video and those of us looking down on the others could do more. I know I don't always treat the people in my life with the love and kindness I would if I knew they were an angel, or if I reminded myself that it was my chance to do something for someone I claim to love and serve.

Especially their version of the Bible: one minute you think He's handing you down a recipe to turn your old man over and get a share of your brother's inheritance, the next minute he talks about fruit pickers all getting the same wage even when arriving too late. No handouts! They need to make better decisions! I'm sure that's not in the Trump Bible...

    According to scripture, a time is coming when God is going to remove both himself and his word from the world. People will be running helter skelter looking for God's life saving truth and will not find it. Amos 8:11; Isaiah 55:6-7; psalm 32-6; The bible is the inspired word of God, Inspired through his Holy Spirit, this is why it is reverend as a Holy Book. To this day, I do not believe many truly understand what that means. The bible is not a Classroom history book, its a book about Creation, the fall of creation, and its restoration through Jesus Christ and belong in the Church. Send your kids to Sunday School if you so care for them to know about the Lord. The fact that God is planning to remove his word from the world should speak volume to many who seem to enjoy making a mockery of all the Most High stands for. Today most Christian Churches operates as a social club,doing their own thing, but when Christ walked this earth, the Temple was a Holy Place. Many in the past have lost their lives for disrespecting the Temple of God. And many powerful kingdoms have come crashing down because they thought they were bigger than God. Babylon, Persia, Greece, Rome, Egypt, Assyria, to name a few. King David was returning the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem when the oxen transporting the Ark tripped. Uzzah, one of the men guiding the cart, reached out to steady the Ark and was instantly struck dead. 2 Samuel 6:1-8; What about Aaron's sons, Nadab and Abihu, burning incense the wrong way, both struck dead. Leviticus 10:1-3; What did God say after these young men died? Among those who approach me, I will show myself Holy; I will be glorified before all people. This was such a serious crime that Aaron was warned to not even mourn for his sons lest he be struck dead also. Let me say this. You can pick up any book and make its content come alive, but when it comes to the Holy Bible, its contents is already alive, and to poke your head into it without being prepared to commit to its teachings, is nothing short of provocation, and the scripture makes it quite clear, we should not provoke the Lord to anger. Jeremiah 7:19; There is a sin that leads to death. 1 John 5:16-17; That sin is, grieving the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 4:30; Many people believe that because lighting bolts don't strike them down when the commit a sin against the Lord, that they are covered under the blood of Jesus. What they do not know, is there is a judgment day. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the father except through me. Yet we are being taught there are many roads leading to God.John 14:6; Jesus said, "All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Daniel 7:14; Matthew 11:27, 28:18; John 17:2; yet we have those who believe they have the authority to represent God on earth. The scripture teaches, in the past God communicated to our ancestors through his prophets, but today he communicate to us through his word, his son. Hebrews 1:1-3; Yet we have many claiming God spoke to them. Jesus Christ is the founder of his Church, Yet we have many claiming to be the founders of Christ Church. Matthew 16:18; Jesus said, many will come preaching Jesus is Lord and will deceive many. Matthew 24:4; Matthew 7:21-23; Jesus came bringing good news about God's coming kingdom that is to replace all man made Government, this is the gospel message the Church of Christ is suppose to be teaching. Matthew 4:17; Isaiah 9:6-7; 11:1-10; Daniel 2:44-45; Is this the gospel being preached today? Galatians 1:6-10; 2 Timothy 4:1-5; I can go on and on. What I have attempted to do is to show this is not a history book where you conveniently pick out what you want and leave the rest. This is a book with rules for living that pleases God. The bible admonishes parents to bring up their children in the ways of the Lord. Teaching children about Christ is the responsibility of both parents and guardians. No other religions is being more disrespected than Christianity. I hope people come to their senses soon and repent because we are in the last days, and if you are not ready now, you may never get the opportunity to be. Revelation 22:10-11; Isaiah 52:5-6; Romans 2:23-24;

    What about science class and the teaching from scripture that the story of Noah's ark is true ? Any sane person could figure ot that the Noah's ark tale never happened or could possibly have happened . That tale is yet one of many that are easily proven false , using simple scientific analysis. Convergent proof from multiple scientific fields all point to the same conclusion. So sorry that faith prevents people from asking the appropriate questions.

    When I struggled with Heroin and Cocaine addiction i lived in St Petersburg FL. I was also homeless there for close to 2 years. There is a shelter/church called St Vincent de Paul, another place called the Turning Point. And mental health services was Boley. Many people who claim to be Vet's are not. I did day work when i wasn't dope sick. There are several preachers that preach on the street down there, that wouldn't spit on you if you were dying of thurst. All together it was 27 years of crazy town. But most the folks down there are pretty good. Now i have close to 7 years clean and sober and housed for 6. I volunteer at the Iowa City VA and try and help addicted and homeless veterans. If it wasn't for someone looking down on me and guiding me just to make the footsteps to get clean.
