Letting any politician address a congregation for political purposes is wrong. If a church chooses to take on that role, they should be forced to pay taxes, like any other venue or concert hall.

Jon Stewart said (and I paraphrase,) ' _If you want to love Trump, go ahead, but stop calling it patriotism_ .' Well, if you want to worship Trump, go ahead- but stop calling it Christianity.

Your judging may and you up in a less than good way. The Bible states "confess with your mouth, and believe - and you wlil be saved." Trump has made that *very* clear. You can cherry-pick biblical passages as much as you please, but that doesn't alter the fact that Trump does not in any way uphold christian teachings. He lies, cheats and steals. Trump was convicted by a jury of his peers on legitimate charges. And don't forget he also stole money from a charity, sexually abused a woman, defamed her, found guilty for falsifying property values, and had to pay $millions to people he scammed with his fake university. Here in Arizona, we've been under an "extreme heat advisory." At his rally here the other day, 11 of Trump's supporters were overcome by the heat. This is a real problem here. People lose their lives every summer due to the heat. A true leader - priest, politician, whatever - should be at the very least concerned for the people listening to them speak. A couple days later, Trump had another rally in Las Vegas where it was also brutally hot. Did he express concern for his followers? No. In fact, he said this: “They never mention me. I’m up here sweating like a dog,” he said. “[The] Secret Service said we have to make sure everyone is safe. I said, ‘What about me?’ We never thought of that. They don’t think about me. I’m working my ass off. I’m working hard.” He doesn't care about his followers. He only cares about himself.

I honestly don't think it's the vocabulary that's the issue here, it's the ugly intent behind it. And it feels very important to me that we really think about that. I've heard a minister intentionally say the f-word in a sermon and didn't feel that it dishonored the space in any way; rather, he was using it very clearly to give voice to the pain and helpless frustration that so many people were feeling with regard to the sermon topic. Whereas Trump might have never said any word worse than "darn" and it would still would be disrespectful of the space, because of the uncaring, opportunistic, self-serving cruelty behind his words.

True! And the devil is associated with lying. John 8:44 "When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies." I noticed that when Trump first ran for office, media accused him of him, which he was doing, in fact. In these reader forums, when lies were pointed, his defenders would say something like; "You just don't like Trump", without discussing any of the facts. The appropriate response should have been, to discuss what was true. Often time lies involve distorting true facts, as an example. I knew then, something was going wrong with our nation. Also, his often used term "fake news" is philosophically an attack on Truth. Because real truth often has details. Whereas, that term, is used to avoid providing any details.

Please pray for the Anglican parish at Danforth and Dundas in Toronto, that lost their church (110 years old) this past weekend.

Dream City Church is a beautiful building and I have attended concerts there. It's very troubling that 45 was allowed to hold a rally there. By allowing him the space, they defiled the whole place. I won't be attending anything else there. This speaks volumes about the values of the leadership of the church.

Though I am only an occasional visitor to your church, I am a licensed and ordained Christian minister who finds it a leadership failure to allow this event to occur. The demonstration to the world of people chanting obscenities in chorus after being prompted by the former president is awful. As a Christian, I will not attend another event at your church. When I started going to church it was all about love kindness peace and charity. To be as Christ like as possible. Nowadays millions are calling themselves Christian’s and there’s not a thing Christ like about any of them. Being a Christian is a lifestyle not just a title.

I’m less concerned about vulgar language than I am about the lack of kindness, love, joy, peace , patience, goodness, faithfulness, long suffering and gentleness.

That church should lose it's tax exempt status.. that pasture should have put a stop to this and called trump on his profanity, what a shame to the church ! The tragedy of this era are the vocal people who hate other people because those other people don't hate.

I live a mile or two from this venue. It's the same place Trump held his resurrection rally after the Tulsa rally the potentially took his friend Herman Canines life due to Covid. The same group of "Young Republicans hoasted the event, their parents had to sign waivers releasing Trump of any responsibility for their childrens health. Our then (R) governor Doug Doucey was in attendance, masks were optional at the event while mandatory for the county. Two day's later the governor held a press conference with state health officials declaring that gatherings in large groups constitutes a high risk activity for Covid.

I know a bit about the beginnings of Dream City Church. (The Los Angeles one, of which this is a branch.)They had some genuinely exciting ideals and aspirations in the beginning. I knew some of the people involved. I cried when I saw the video. God help us. What in the world…?

Amen! I'm beginning to think that many people in the modern world who call themselves Christians would crucify Jesus all over again if He came back today and said the same things He said in the gospels. But at least there are people like Rev Ed Trevors out there preaching love and kindness, living and speaking love and truth as Jesus taught us. Thank you for your message!

​@@CricketsBay Since the 1960s (so basically my entire life) which leads me to believe that every age has people saying "Lord, Lord" to whom the response will be "I do not know you."

Churches that take a political stance whould not be tax exempt. Tax their space, tax their income, and tax their preachers.

The thought that comes into my head when I heard him do this: Luke 17:2 "It would be better for them to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around their neck than to cause one of these little ones to stumble." His lies and rhetoric are things that are causing the Lord's little ones to stumble.

As a True follower of Christ , the modern church sickens me to the core, separation of church and state ! There was a reason our fore fathers set this up , Trump is the reason for that doctrine

Trump, MTG, and the rest, have all said, "I believe in God. I believe in Jesus Christ." A Bible verse immediately came to mind. I looked it up to make sure it said what I thought it did. James 2:19 "You believe there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that, and shudder."
