Reverend Ed, you are so right on in your philosophy. There is so much negativity circling our globe right now. All those negative feelings can sink us quickly into depression. I'm "76," and I've been in pain 24/7 for over 20 years now. My struggle to stay out of negativity is a daily challenge. And so, I'm constantly focusing on what I'm grateful for. And it comes down to the simple things of life and what I'm able to control. I can control my thoughts. I can't control other people or how they think. I can be kind and loving to everyone. I can choose to be part of the healing of our beloved planet. I am truly blessed. My wish for everyone else is peace of mind, body and spirit.

Here here. The older I get the more I am careful about what I watch and I feel the effects it has. So I try to stick to things that make me feel happy. Remember when you lay down with dogs you get fleas. True story

That's ultimately why I left Facebook back in 2020 and other socials in the following years, it turned into a cesspool of continuous and cultivated outrage to keep people engaged. Now I mostly just follow people who share good news and spread positive, wholesome vibes, people like Sam Bentley, Tank Tolman, Opal In Sky, and of course this very wise pastor named Ed Trevors :)

Thank you Ed. I love this message so much. Eceryone needs to hear it. I realized a few months ago that I really needed to look at what I was consuming. I took a break from KZread for a while (it's the only social I use). After I came back, I looked at all the channels and videos I was watching and asked myself on each one did I feel better or worse after watching-and why I felt that way. I unsubbed from several channels and pretty much cut out shorts and am now much more careful on what I click on. It helped my mental health and stress levels sooo much . I still keep up on news, but I see so much less click-baity nastiness in my feed. It's been so helpful. Enjoy your day everyone, and take a few moments to find some beauty and joy wherever you are.🌟❤

John Prine inspired me my whole life, since circa 1975. I miss him, but I'm grateful for the many great songs he wrote that I love to sing when I start taking things too seriously... "it's a half an inch of water but you think you're gonna drown" reminds me that things aren't so bad. A more recent artist I love is Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats. There's a line from a song on their new album I've adopted as a motto too: "...And don't be appalled with the fall, it didn't hurt that bad I've hit the ground harder I've hit the ground harder..." (The song is called "Heartless" and the video is wonderful, it features some talented children actors.)

Sort of. Incipient means "about to be" and I am sure the author meant to avoid "about to be a harlot" too!

The opposite of insipid is zesty. Think about *that*.

I’ve always thought a healthy balance of anything you consume, in any form that doesn’t help you achieve your goal, just turns into belly fat that sits around until you convenes your self you cannot walk because you can no longer see your feet. Haha So be careful what you consume, and don’t forget to put that consumption to practice too. Are my thoughts… because I got fat in hate, sat and consumed more, instead of getting up to do something about it. Forgot I had feet because I couldn’t see them. Not to mention the AMOUNT of hate I consumed meant, I had to lose an awful lot… it’s been a journey for me. Regardless, your part of my Hate Watch program and I appreciate you ❤

Yeah, I don't watch real life horror any more via the news/ social media. I've seen maybe three real bad snippets from Gaza. I didn't want to become desensitised to horror. I hear others talk about it/ read about it and the horror is still apparent. Still felt.

Along the lines of this commentary , I find that any video that has the word "terrifying" in the description probably won't be worth the time it takes to watch .

Another reason not to click on tempting content devoid of real value is that its that ckick that sets the algorithim that ends up feeding conspiracy/hateful/misleading content. The media companies calculate what gets the most views and therefore makes the most money for them and just replicates it until that is all we see. If we want our world to be more reasonable, thoughtful, informed, and caring then we all have a duty to make sure to give only that content our time and to thereby defund the divisive content
