Sadly the people calling for a Christian Nation would never go for this kind of thinking. Their vision of Christianity is forcing everyone to do what they believe God wants, It's not about service or allowing others to live in peace.

I am an atheist and one of my coworkers who is a Christian looked me in the eyes and told me that I'm one of the best Christians she ever met, to someone who wears a Baphomet necklace. Even telling me how kind and sweet I am when I didn't think or know if I was even making any difference. Well, hearing those words from her, I couldn't help the tears that came.

If each 'rich' ņation was this sort of Christian nation, we could wipe out poverty and hunger. Due to a lack of greed and aggression, we could end wars. If those with the resources actually followed Jesus's commands it would be an amazing world.

Can we give God a break? Besides a universe to look after, There's more than 8 billion people on this tiny rock. We act like siblings who keeps asking the same old question...am I your favorite? He gave us the guidance and taught us the lessons. He also gave us free will. It's time to apply it and be responsible for our actions.

"Preach the Gospel at all times. If necessary, use words." If Christians who talk about making the country great really believe the bible they wouldn't feel the need to try to force their will on people. They wouldn't be so focused on sin but on being kind. And if they actually did that then they'd get a lot of the things they claim to want and no one would have any problem with them having that power. But the people who spend most of their time talking about us being a Christian Nation don't actually want to act out the Gospel they just want to use it as a weapon to gather power and force their identity politics on other people. As someone who does believe the bible I am angered by their use of the Lord's name in vein and their literal blasphemy.

I do not agree with your last sentence. Climate Change as peddled by the Global Left has zero to do with the environment. Frankly it destroys it. The original handler of AOC said as much out loud one day when he said climate change is not about the environment but about changes in the economy. Getting minerals for Electric cars in Africa destroys not only the landscape there but also uses black children to do slave labor day in day out. Windmills destroy forests and farm land, not to speak about birds, wildlife and sealife. you think that banning gas stoves will help the environment while wars started by the US and EU destroy half of the planet?

I've always believed that we don't know who a person is and we can't judge a book by its cover. With that, I believe that the Lord won't come back wearing fancy clothes, driving a big car with a marching band. He'll be one of the lowly, poor, a person who people look at with disrespect and disgust. You should want to treat people right, the only difference is the circumstance. That person that we don't want to be around because they're dirty, homeless and hungry or people think is crazy, could be the lord himself.

Have you read Lowell’s old poem “The Vision of sir Launfal” which describes a haughty knight going out young, coming home older and wiser, encountering a leper with whom he shares his bread, breaks ice in the river to give him a drink, and the leper transforms to the glorified Christ. You might enjoy reading it. It’s not too long and makes me weep each time.

If the figurehead of the church changes every 2000 years or so, what more consequential to the human race has happened since the Roman Empire spread Christianity across the world 2000 years ago than cell phones and computers uniting humanity and giving us the ability to speak to the whole world at one time? Don't you think the world is ripe to redefine their interpretation of divinity as one world? Jesus said he would come again. From Adam and Eve, Noah and Abraham and Christ. Gemini, Taurus, Aries, Pieces an Aquarius. What do you think about the figurehead of the Age's religion matching the symbology of the Zodiac? And when Jesus when ahead of his disciples they asked how would they find him: Luke 21: 9-10. And they said unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare? And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in.

To be fair, many Gospel-believing Christians did try to bring forth a new nation in America that followed Christ's teachings. Those teachings form what is now the liberal side of the political spectrum. People may say America was Christian at its founding, but it was liberal at its founding too. If you try to honestly follow the Gospels, you will arrive at liberal views. Just the facts. That's why our political leaders are called public servants. It is why our Constitution did not provide a standing army, and did away with kings and rule by the Church. These were planet-shaking, profoundly new liberal ideas that brought the modern world. That's why the hate-rabies that overtook the American church was such a vile betrayal.

When the video started I was reminded of John 6:15. Jesus doesn’t want to be forced into leadership. It’s the same attitude that you ended with…. Serving, not forcing others. You are right… that would be quite a different culture! I have heard of Christian men who treat all their belongings as gifts from God. You cannot steal anything from them; it belongs to God. They freely share if they feel God wants them to. All depends on God. And they don’t get emotionally involved.

I'm so sick and tired of listening to hateful nonsense about 'The Others,' being the reason everything is so broken: Infrastructure, the economy, public services, local and national sense of community. Then being told we're broke and the poor/ working poor/ sick/ disabled need to pay higher prices and taxes. While the rich who pay less tax than us, get more tax breaks!! Our concern is that people who feel similar to us follow far right parties and their millionaire, men of the people. We agree on 90% of the problems, but as you say differ on 90% of the causes, therefore possible solutions!!

Back in 8th grade, I read the book Johnny Tremain by Esther Forbes. The theme is the book is about pride with the looming American Revolution as a backdrop. There's a scene early on where Johnny's silversmith master has him read from Leviticus and Proverbs, and how pride is bad. This was a very influential book on me, and humility is a very important value to me. This also made me think about American nationalism, how we take pride in our country, flag, military, freedoms, and even Christian values. Would God like this country? Not especially. This is what put me off of nationalism. There's a video game called Sid Meier's Civilization, a turn-based strategy game where you lead a civilization in all facets from the Stone Age to the not too distant future, and there's a variety of ways to win the game, including a Religious Victory. To accomplish this, at least half of every other civilization's cities must follow your chosen religion. So when Jesus said to preach to all the nations, conservatives see it as "I want a Religious Victory. When everyone is a Christian, God wins. Never mind the whole prophecy of the end times thing, we can probably skip that."

A Christian means to have a personal relationship with Christ. The book 7 Traits of Highly Effective People refers to Locus of Control. Where should a person hold their center? If a person's identity is based on a center outside their self, one risks loosing the foundation of their self. The Bible says God is in us all. Jesus says to love our neighbor as our self. A great nation is full of good Christians as Christ fills the hearts of man. How can we have a great Christian nation when we force the people to live like Jesus and we neglect our neighbor? More importantly, when I give up my possessions to follow Jesus can I keep my guitar?

The United States is a Christian Nation and the U.S. Constitution guarantees freedom of religion; to worship any god or no god. We don't need to make the U.S. great or Christian as we are already great, and Christian. We proclaim "our Lord" in Article VII. Of the U.S. Constitution. The Supreme Court has stated we are a Christian Nation. You are correct that the Spiritual life of the Christian requires fealty to Christ alone. But in the world we affect the world as salt and Nation's must give God the glory.

You'd better add the UK and France to those prayers - also on that tenderhooks of lines between where the side will tip and the crazies are getting votes - and Trump seems to think that he's going to have a great grouping - for the rest of us, living near/in, some of us (normal people) think it would be the triad of evil 😥

I recommend that everyone watch "The Handmaid's Tale". Many people claim that the series is anti-Christian, but in actuality, the series mocks the people who use religion to control people ( particularly females ). Even though the people in control in "The Handmaid's Tale" profess to be Christian, they seldom mention Jesus, but over 90% of the time, they espouse the worst parts of the "Old Testament". The series uses verses from the “Old Testament” ( for instance where a wife was barren and she allowed her husband to have sex with the wife's handmaid to produce an offspring for her ) to justify raping a class of women called "Handmaids". Any disobedience can be punished by whipping and if it continues: lynching.

Similar to a helicopter parent, who wants to clear the way for their child to succeed instead of letting their child succeed on their own skills and merits. Which means when the child is truly on their own, they can't do anything because they're used to their parents doing everything for them.

First serve those who you despise. You cannot love yourself if you don’t love everyone. Because hating another for being a democrat, gay, different color, and practice another religion is hating yourself. So first serve those who you hate the most first and then continue serving others as you go.

@revedtrevors4961 Thank you for your explanation as I haven't lived where snowplows were common place. My husband was a military helicopter pilot, so the saying about being a helicopter parent - constantly hovering over a child - was something I was more familiar with. Most of my life was lived in Florida, California, lower Alabama, Texas, and western Washington with its coastal weather. Seeing any snow in those places was an unexpected surprise. Thank you again, not only for your explanation of that term but also for your insights that have helped me better the faults that I've realized I had. I'm a nicer person today than I was before finding your videos.

@@psydd5209 The word "Christian" appears three times in the New Testament of the Bible, in Acts 11:26, Acts 26:28, and 1 Peter 4:16. The term was first used in Antioch to describe followers of Jesus who behaved and spoke like Christ. The word "Christian" comes from the root word "Christ" and the suffix "ian", which means "like" or "pertaining to". Again, learn Latin.
