Looks like a ton of fun
@@madATcomputer yeah, always fun with the Lunchbox. Many thanks for watching 😁👍
@@PeteWylieRC I'm getting back into r/c after a 20+ year absence. I bought the r/c i wanted back then but could not afford(traxxas stampede). Next is a lunchbox. Then a smaller scale car for the basement. then maybe a boat? Send help. Haha
So Pete which van do enjoy driving more this one or your Lunchbox? Another fantastic job on the build video as always👍😎👍
Hiya 😁 Ooh that's very difficult to answer. It's hard to beat the bouncy roly poly nature of the Lunchbox for pure hilarious fun. The Squash Van is more capable and the rear steer is really fun. Thank you for your kind feedback as ever and very best wishes to you 😁👍
Love it Pete!!! Agree, Bearings are a MUST if not included with a Tamiya kit (some would say hard or steel pinion is needed also). Love the power you have in it, not too much and way better than stock.... On the other hand, I would keep it front wheel steering but that's me.. That is what makes this hobby so good for a lot of people, Do what you want, make it yours and SEND IT!!!!!
Hiya Bob. Yeah with this many gears you don't want them to become wibbly wobbly with worn bushings. Yeah the steel pinions aren't too expensive and are worth it I reckon. With the rear steer I'm thinking that I've already got 4wd 2wd trucks like the Granite so it's good to have something that drives very differently. Yeah something for everyone in this hobby. Cheers for watching mate. Best wishes 😁👍
very good mate. useful and informative 😊👍looks a great van. hope to add it one day👍
Hiya Dom. Yeah I think this would run great over at Sandy Bottom. Many thanks indeed for watching mate 😁👍👍
Or Royt Mate! Yaw reely shud av dun the hole videoh in a brummy aksent! Haha, love it Pete! Nicely detailed build vid with lots of useful explanations and advice. Lots of frantic screwing going on there pal! OK so i agree it was better to use your usual southern accent! 😅Good to see you were watching my speed run video too! Nice idea to add the mods and tips at the end of the video. All the best mate and have a great week ahead! 😎👊🦫👍
Hiya mate. Ha yeah my crap Brummie accent is more Kevin Turvey than you or Rob I think 🤣 Did you spot the 'little Marks' ? 🤣 Yeah hopefully I got the balance between a video that is useful with one that is generally easy to watch. Not sure if I'll do any more like this though as it took far too long to edit and my PC was starting to creak with all the 4k files. Oh yeah there always has to be you on the screen at all times 🤣 Cheers for your great feedback mate. Best wishes 😁👍
Hi Pete very cool Video very helpful and entertaining and I prefer the longer Videos.
Hi there. Ah that's good to hear that you liked the format. I do think it's better to try and squeeze the whole build into one video if possible. Many thanks indeed for your kind feedback 😁👍🙂
Hi Pete! I need to get my hand on these in the near future. Hope you have a good day!
Hi there. Yeah it's a nice kit and definitely fun to drive. Many thanks indeed for your kind feedback. Best wishes 😁
great build vid, nice bumper mod👍
Hi there. Yes it's a very nice kit. I really wish that Tamiya would put big bumpers on the modern kits because they protect it much better. Many thanks indeed for watching and your comments 😁👍👍
Awesome video Pete! So entertaining 😁 I hope Mark will forgive for cutting the wibbly wobbly down 😂
Hi there. Ooh yes it felt bad yet so good to cut that wibbly wobbly down to size 🤣 Many thanks indeed for watching and your great feedback 😁👍👍
Throughly enjoyed that build Pete , I have to say I’m very fond of building my own RCs , I’m hoping to do something like yourself very soon . Was thinking if you had to pick a kit for me which would it be ? Can’t make my mind up on one . Lovely looking truck that as you say typically Tamiya and that’s not a bad thing at all . Keep up the great work . Stay awesome Chris 🤙🚀💪🤘
Hiya Chris. Well I would say that in terms of being a lovely kit and also looking fantastic and having lovely performance I would say get a Kyosho Turbo Scorpion. This kit is also very nice if you want a quirky bouncy truck. There is of course the classic Tamiya Lunchbox which is cheaper and loads of fun. Also the Konghead is great and comes in cheaper than the Squash Van I think. Cheers for watching and your great feedback mate. Best wishes 😁👍
Brilliant work there Pete!! Really enjoyed watching this one through matey 😎 Looks like a fun kit and it is great looking at the end isn’t it 👍🏻
Hiya Craig. Yeah these compressed builds take a ridiculous amount of time to edit but I do like the result. Yes I loved the looks of this from the first promo pics of it and so pleased that Mr Smith got it for me. Many thanks indeed for watching mate. Best wishes to you 😁👍
Dang, that's basically a Konghead less 1/3 of the transmission!
Hi there. Yeah a lot of similarities with the Konghead. Nice platform and I know from having had the Konghead for a few years now that the gearbox will last. Many thanks indeed for your great feedback 😁👍👍
One of my all time favorite trucks. In 20 years I have been in this hobby this truck is in the top 5 .
Hi there. Yeah the steering was an issue but once I put the stronger servo saver in it's a beast. Many thanks indeed for watching and your great feedback. Much appreciated 😁👍
@@PeteWylieRC l put a jx Ecoboost servo and a Hot Racing servo saver on my outcast the first week l had it. Most Arma RTR factory parts are junk. It is what it is.
Nice run down of the whole build and also what you did with the suspension! I need to work on the bouncy nature of it myself! I will take those tips with me when I do! It looked great running around out there and darker blue looks really nice on there! Take care Pete and I enjoyed the video!
Hiya Addam. Yeah I remember you saying about how crap the suspension is on this. I think those softer springs really help with the CVA shocks on this. I don't think you can entirely engineer the bounce out of it and it is part of the Tamiya charm. I do love the look of this and definitely a fun one. Cheers for watching mate. Best wishes to you 😁👍
Very entertaining build video. And that dual steering looks so cool in action!
Hi there. Yeah the rear steer does make this very interesting to drive and different to my other RC trucks. Many thanks indeed for your kind feedback. Best wishes to you 😁
Great work with your U4. It's awesome to watch the Lasernut in action. I would say that it's not still good it's still GREAT! Best desert buggy for the price. 🏁🏁🏆🏆
Hi there. This is my friends car and I think he still has it. Yeah a most impressive bit of kit all round. Many thanks indeed for watching and your great comments 😁👍
Awesome video Pete. You really keep us entertained with xour comments over this long time.👍👏
@@RCBirds Many thanks indeed for your kind feedback. I was concerned that having the whole build and run in one video might be a bit long but it's not too bad. Thank you for watching 😁👍
You forgot the quivering bloke 😂
@@craigpimlott204 Ha yeah 🤣 Cheers for watching and your great comment 😁👍👍
Hi Pete, Highly Entertaining for a lazy Sunday afternoon. You can bash a Squash Van if you play The Generation Game before building it first... Nice To See You, To See You Nice. As for not having any imagination, i thought you made a good call by adding the Purple although you should have put it on first really thinly and then added the Blue. Just my 2 bobs worth. Turned out alright though, didnt it? Well Done 👍👍👍
@@cw-01creations46 Hiya Pete. Yeah I knew the Brits would get the generation game bit. The set of steak knives in a presentation box is also a Young Ones reference. Any yes I did nearly paint this purple first but in the past I've found it to be more lilac than a strong purple. I'm happy with the blue though. Be good to have a bit of a Tamiya session before too long. Thank you for the kind gift and cheers for watching this and your great feedback. Hopefully catch up with you soon 😁👍
Great video, Pete. The Squash Van is certainly one of the best recent offerings from Tamiya. Non-stop fun driving that bad-boy. And they can handle brushless power with ease. Nice footage there jumping at the golf course, looks like you had a blast. Cheers!
@@poorboysrc Hiya Fil. Yeah I don't think that Tamiya will ever get into the big tough bashers but what they do well is these quirky trucks with awesome retro style bodies. Definitely fun to bounce around in the woods. I did enjoy your videos of this one too. Cheers for your comments mate, best wishes 😁
I thought it was the Van Squash 😂
@@aviano72 🤣🤣🤣
The Van-squish! Or Van-Squash
@@Paul__FC ha yes indeed. Many thanks indeed for watching. Best wishes 😁👍
Thanks 🙏 for sharing this video. My first ARMA is the Big Rock 3s BLX Its Amazing to drive and for bashing.Thank for info, some problem with the Spur slipper. So now i going to do the same thing to my car.I order New Opgrded metal Spur.Maybe it will be better.Befor the spur/Slipper don't want to hold together. The skrew is getting skrew off and the car wont spin the weels. So going to take the new part and try it out.😊Soo hope everything is going good Now.Thanks for relly god video.😊
Hi there. If you are getting the metal spur gear then I think you need an extra slipper pad. My 4s has got two pads on each side from what I can remember. Thanks for watching the video and your kind feedback 😁👍
The kraton is a great machine 💪 Nice jumps😊
Hi there. Yeah I'm pleased with this addition to my RC collection. Many thanks indeed for watching and your kind feedback 😁👍👍
That was a fantastic video, Pete! The sunshine, the slow-motion, the chill backing track and of course, the Kraton being as awesome as it is. Man, you're really making me want to buy one of these! You're not gonna be pulling all those backflips with a Lunch Box, are ya? Lol! Awesome stuff, pal!
Hiya Fil. Oh yeah the light up there was so nice and it makes the footage look much better. These are fantastic bashers and you are getting an awful lot for your money. It's good to have some really tough cars like this so you can save the Tamiya's for less severe bashing. Cheers for your great feedback mate. Best wishes 😁👍
awesome slo mo footage pete , Love watching videos like this . Can i ask what camera your using in this video buddy . Keep up the awesome work Chtis :)
Hiya Chris. Yeah I like to do videos like this but they aren't always popular compared to ones that are actually useful. It's still the GoPro Hero 10. I'm videoing in 4k at 120fps. Cheers for watching and your kind feedback mate. Best wishes 😁👍👍
Hell yea
Many thanks indeed 😁👍👍
I'm installing a ds3235pro servo with a hot racing fixed 25 t servo saver in an arrma kraton 4s v2.5 do I need to program the esc or can run it after centered and installed
Hi there. You don't need to change any esc programming when you install the new servo. Really the only thing that needs changing is the low voltage cut off to get a longer run time. Thanks for watching 👍👍
Nice one Pete. Great speed but I'm coming for you dude👍👍👌👌🐿🐿
Oh yeah I'm expecting you to better your last run 🤣 Cheers for watching mate 👍👍
Hi Pete, it looked like the car was floating through the air with the various jumps that you had planned for the Kraton to perform. Next thing you know, youll be purchasing a 6s version 😂 Much catch up soon 👍
Hiya Peter 😁 Yeah the Kraton was gliding through the air in a very graceful way. It was a bit less graceful at full speed and when you could hear the sound but nice to do a chill out video. I think that 4s is big and chunky enough for me right now and I don't feel like I need more performance. Be great to catch up with you soon. Best wishes mate and thanks for watching 😁👍👍
Very nice indeed Pete in Slo Mo it almost feels like a commerical for actual real car👍👍😎😎👍👍
Hi there. Yeah the footage came out well in the afternoon sun. Many thanks indeed for your kind feedback. Best wishes 😁👍🙏
Hi Pete! Oh yes, it does look spectacular kicking all the dirt and twigs up from the forest floor in the dappled sunlight. That shot at 1:33 with the sun streaming through in the background was awesome! Very enjoyable to watch. Hope the weekends going well, mate - happy Sunday! 😎👊🦫👍
Hiya mate. Yeah this is one of those runs that I wouldn't have bothered to video had it not been for the fantastic effect of the sun shining through the trees and dust. Really makes such a difference to these run vids. Thanks for your great feedback as ever. I hope Sunday is treating you well. I'm slightly hungover after a night out in town last night so just slobbing around. Cheers for now 😁
Ouyeah, Pete, the Kraton is the King! Lovely slomo action, great footage!
Hi there. Yeah this is a really great basher for sure. Many thanks for your kind feedback. Best wishes 😁👍
Even in slo-mo this is faster than crawling 😂
Ha yeah, and more fun. Many thanks indeed for watching. Much appreciated 😁👍
love the rays of light . great video mate 👍
Hiya Dom. Yeah I wasn't really planning to take any footage but when I saw what he light was like up there I had to take some shots. Cheers for watching mate 😁👍
Nice bashing! Looks like a super fun rig!
Hi there. Oh yes this is such a great handling and tough basher. Perfect up on that hill. Many thanks indeed for watching 😁👍
Great shots of the Kraton doing fun Kraton things out there! I think I am going to have to get one of these. I have been eyeing the 3s big rock for some time but I think this will be a better option and loads of fun. I just need them to run a sale on them again! Thanks for the great video Pete! The music was great and the footage was excellent!
Hiya Addam. Yeah you get a lot more for your money with the 4s cars. All metal gears and really nice big bore metal shocks. This is a version 2 with the slipper clutch but the newer one has the centre diff which is better. Definitely one you can launch and beat up. Many thanks indeed for watching mate. Best wishes to you 😁👍
Reall cool looking shots!!!
Hi there. Yeah I went up there with not much intention of videoing but when I saw how it looked with the sun shining through the dust I had to get some footage. Cheers for your great feedback. Much appreciated 😁👍
Excellent summer slo mo action Pete 🙂👍🏼👍🏼
Hiya Derek. Yeah it has dried out at long last! Cheers for watching mate. Best wishes 😁👍
Awesome footages and great play woth the light
Oh yes the sunlight makes such a difference to the footage. Many thanks indeed for watching. Best wishes 😁👍👍
I’ve had a vorteks about 2 years. I hadn’t driven rc for over a decade. Very fast and fun
Yeah I would like to get a Vorteks to add to my 3s collection. Does look like good fun. Many thanks for your great feedback :-)
Can you link the video you made a while back which is full of innuendos thanks
Hi there. I'm not sure which one you mean. There is this one about the Wild Willy kzread.info/dash/bejne/d6ds1dWtn7aplJM.html
This one has the voices of Mark and Rob and at the end there is a string of things they are saying that sound a bit rude 🤔
1:57 for me I was able to push it out
Well done. Mine needed a bit of force! Many thanks indeed for watching 😁
@@PeteWylieRC No problem! many thanks for offering your help to others!
What would be a great servo to go with the hot racing servo saver in an arrma kraton v4 2.5 also what would be considered a high end servo upgrade
I'm using the JX Ecoboost 22kg servos in my Arrma's. It is super quick and responsive and not too dear. It's from banggood. I don't know about any high end expensive ones but the JX ones seem to work well. Many thanks for watching 😁
Crikey Pete..... Your getting scaringly close to the New Forest speed limit there buddy! 😂 Great first run fella, that was rapid! We need to pull our finger out and build 'Peter' our holiday buggy ASAP!! Probably sticking with brushed for this one, so we can take on Mark!! Is your idea of using Blitzer wheels and tires copyrighted? 🤔 © I was trying to think of what wheels we could change to, and those seem to work very well indeed! 😉 👍 👍 👍
Ooh yeah it's 40mph in the forest 😬😂 Yeah get that Holiday Buggy built but personally I wouldn't use that shell for a speed run in case you break the window posts in a roll over. Yeah bigger wheels are a good thing to up the gearing and Blitzer ones work well. Good luck with it when you do get to do a run. Cheers for your great feedback as ever and very best wishes to you 😁👍
@@PeteWylieRC And good luck to you to Sir! Yep, upping the gearing by using bigger wheels was the intention matey..... and we happen to have a set of blitzers! As for the body, I've actually done two shells..... a stunning nicely detailed box art one, and another just for the speed run! As Mr Hanky the speed run poo was our mascot for last year's poor boys rc speed challenge, it felt only right to bring him back! So, the speed run body will be a convertible holiday buggy driven by a poo! 💩 😂 Hopefully, it should go like s**t off a shovel...... and there won't be no pain if, or should I say 'when' the shell gets totally mullered! 😂 👍 👍 👍
Now this is a proper Pete wylie video!! Absolute carnage in the woods with the mighty squash van! I could almost smell the New Forest pines and Bracken ferns! 😂 The squash done extremely well for a 2wd truck..... and even had a little hill climb at the end, determined little bugger! Now that's my idea of a fun bit of crawling..... flat out throttle and plenty of brut force and ignorance! All good in the woods matey! 👍 👍 👍
Hiya James. Ah this isn't actually the New Forest but it is similar terrain. It's Ramsdown forest which is near me in Bournemouth. The Squash Van is 4wd and would probably get up those hills with some grippy tyres but the Black Foot tyres it comes with are perfect for bashing as they have a bit of slide in the bends. Yeah my hill climbing is pretty much full throttle and hope for the best 🤣 Cheers for watching mate. Best wishes 😁👍
Heck yeah you can bash the Von Squash! That intro shot slamming into the rock was epic! This truck is so much fun, it's nice to see you putting it through the paces, Pete!
Oh yeah I know that your one got a darned good thrashing. I think that the Lunchbox bumper mod is a good one to do to protect the lovely body but otherwise it's pretty tough. Cheers for watching mate. Best wishes 😁👍👍
Great and fun! I enjoy watching!
Many thanks indeed. Much appreciated 😁
I’ve got this exact kit I can’t wait to build it
Oh yeah I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Very nice kits these. Thanks for watching and your kind feedback 😁👍
@@PeteWylieRCI’ve made it got I checked at the hobby store to make sure everything was working and there were a few mistakes but overall it was good now that the mistakes are sorted I can’t wait to run it tomorrow at the RC club
IMPORTANT NOTE The steel spur SHOULD COME WITH ONE INCLUDED SLIPPER DISC. The most annoying thing in the world, when you order upgrades and they don't fit directly, and even worse when it is because YOU NEED MORE PARTS TO DO SO...
Oh I did not realise that. That is rather annoying as you say. Thanks for the great info :-)
Nice video😁💪
Many thanks indeed 😁👍👍
