Can you Bash a Squash Van? Yes! Brushless Tamiya Squash Van in Bash Bonanza!
Hi all. I've been out with my Squash Van again and what a jolly time I had. This has a brushless motor and the rear steer option. I'm running on 2s lipo. Other mods include oil shocks and I've done a mod to use a Lunchbox front bumper for better protection. Thanks to Peter at CW-01 Creations for getting me the kit. Many thanks for watching. Please like and comment :-)

Heck yeah you can bash the Von Squash! That intro shot slamming into the rock was epic! This truck is so much fun, it's nice to see you putting it through the paces, Pete!

Oh yeah I know that your one got a darned good thrashing. I think that the Lunchbox bumper mod is a good one to do to protect the lovely body but otherwise it's pretty tough. Cheers for watching mate. Best wishes 😁👍👍
Now this is a proper Pete wylie video!! Absolute carnage in the woods with the mighty squash van! I could almost smell the New Forest pines and Bracken ferns! 😂 The squash done extremely well for a 2wd truck..... and even had a little hill climb at the end, determined little bugger! Now that's my idea of a fun bit of crawling..... flat out throttle and plenty of brut force and ignorance! All good in the woods matey! 👍 👍 👍

Hiya James. Ah this isn't actually the New Forest but it is similar terrain. It's Ramsdown forest which is near me in Bournemouth. The Squash Van is 4wd and would probably get up those hills with some grippy tyres but the Black Foot tyres it comes with are perfect for bashing as they have a bit of slide in the bends. Yeah my hill climbing is pretty much full throttle and hope for the best 🤣 Cheers for watching mate. Best wishes 😁👍
Great run, brushless power 👍

Yeah I think this one needs brushless to get it moving at a decent speed. It's certainly fun with this setup. Many thanks indeed for your great feedback 😁🤠
Best monster truck ever: Tamiya Super Blackfoot. With the right parts and upgrades you can general bash, race near equally with an Associated RC10T, or jump it pretty high. I even drove it several times off the roof of my ranch home. Plus, not only was it tunable but also easy to work on. For pure racing and light bashing, my RC10T was my go to, awesome award winning ' stadium ' truck.😁

Oh right, I never had that one and now I'm wishing I'd picked one up when they were easy to get. Nice looking truck too. Anyway this Squash Van is pretty tough and really good fun but I wouldn't go mad launching it too high. Many thanks indeed for watching. Much appreciated 😁👍
Awesome run 😮 That Van can take some power, very cool 🤩🤝

Hi there. Yeah I've had the same brushless set in my Konghead for a few years and the gears are still fine so they can take the extra power. Many thanks indeed for watching and your kind feedback 😁
Fantastic video Pete! Bash-tastic I should say! The footage bas beautifully clear and sharp and captured the antics of the Squash Van perfectly. One of your best edits for sure. Plus the soundtrack fitted perfectly - I think I've used that one a few times too! Take care mate! 😎👊👍

Hiya mate. Oh yeah I kept the bit rate high and rendered this in 4k as only a short vid but all about the visuals. Had a bit of luck getting a bit of sun and that location is always fun. To be honest this was just going to be incidental footage to put at the start and end of the build but there was just about enough to get a bash vid. Oh yeah I think we've probably all used that music a few times. Not many good ones in the library as you know. Cheers for your great feedback as ever mate. Best wishes to you and yours 😁👍
Very cool run Pete

Ha yeah my RC's don't get to be shelf queens 🤣 Many thanks indeed for watching 😁👍
That was cool, a great place to run the SV, it’s a pretty robust chassis but definitely more drivable with stock 2 wheel steer. Very nice Pete

Hiya Andy. Yeah I do like this bash spot once it dries out a bit in 'summer'. I thought I'd give the rear steer a try on this and I really like it. It's a fun vehicle after all and not something I'd try to get round a track. Cheers for watching mate. Much appreciated 😁👍
Hahahaha this is brilliant mate. "If I can stick an Absima in it I'll bash the #### out of it" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Love it ❤👍🏼👍🏼

Hiya Derek. Oh yes it is my standard thing to do with a Tamiya kit. It is rather good fun. Cheers for watching and your great comments mate. Best wishes 👍👍
Amazing work on that body Pete! Looks like a real blast and some amazing camera work there buddy 😎

Hiya Craig. Yeah luckily they give you some stickers to tidy up the edges of the white as some bits are a little wobbly. Yes a great fun truck to blast around for sure. Many thanks indeed for watching. Best wishes 😁
i think that’s a yes mate 😊👍great video .

Yeah I would definitely say so although I wouldn't beat it up too much and spoil the lovely body shell. Cheers for watching mate. Best wishes 😁
Well you did not hold back at all! It did pretty well out there and seemed to take the tumble in stride. The stock tires definitely seem to struggle for grip on the hard pack stuff. Overall I say it can bash pretty well!! Thanks for sharing the thrashing with us Pete!

Hiya Addam. Yeah this certainly isn't a crawler with these tyres but it is a whole load of fun. Would definitely recommend the rear steer for some laughs. It's holding up strength wise so far. Many thanks indeed for watching. Best wishes to you 😁👍
A crawler would have got up that last bit Pete..🤣 Only joking. You definitely put it through its paces!!

Hiya Damian. Yeah those Blackfoot tyres don't have much grip but they are great for sliding about. If it had more grippy tyres I think it would fall over more often. Cheers for watching mate. Best wishes 😁👍
Fantastic job Pete on putting newer Tamiya of yours through it's paces!!👍👍😎😎👍👍 BTW Happy Father's Day m8! I'm not a Dad at all not 100% sure if you are one either?🤣🤣🤣🤣😁😁

Hi there. Yeah it's good to test these cars out but without being too mean to them. Oh I'm not a father either but thanks for the thought. I did celebrate the day with my dad and a couple of beers 🍻

@@PeteWylieRC I did celebrate with my uncle he's pretty much been my Dad throughout my life for as long as I remember plus I'm always grateful he got me into this fantastic R/C hobby at the young age of 12 back in the early 90's and such plus he's always been there for me whenever I needed him IMHO.😁
Some good air with that! With it being a polycarbonate i guess the shell held up pretty well from that onslaught? It is a good colour also 👍
@PeteWylieRC
Ай бұрын
Yeah the shell is pretty strong on top but a bit thin on the sides at the bottom so I've used a load of gorilla tape to strengthen it. Yes I like the colour and it was all from bits of paint left in old tins so good to use them up. Cheers for watching 😁👍👍
Great edit! The Squash van certainly can bash! I treat many of my Tamiyas this way and it really feels great!

Hi there. Yeah I try to be a bit rough with them without risking much damage. It's come out unscathed which is good. Wouldn't try to send this over big jumps though. Many thanks indeed for watching. Much appreciated 😁👍
