Sand paddles on an MF-01x, now that's genius! It's unreal watching it wheelie like that! -- I've said it many times, the MF-01x is such an under-rated platform. It's such a fun chassis with tons of versatility. It's great to see it performing so well on the beach. Great video, Pete!

Oh yeah driving it in the sea was not good for it but the thing is I've had this truck with a brushed motor for a few years and it's mainly just been on the shelf. At least this new setup has given it a new lease of life, even if there is a bit of rust. Many thanks indeed for watching 😁👍👍

Is a Tamiya MF01X fun at the beach? Well Pete, after watching this I'd jolly well say so! 😅😅Very enjoyable romp through the dunes, beach and waves! My gosh that little thing has got some go in it and love the pick-up body you fitted. I did feel sorry for the abuse it got in the water though, those poor bearings! Hiya mate. Yeah I know you've had some of these tyres but I hadn't thought of putting them on a MF-01X until I saw the RC So & So's do it. I thought it would need a brushless motor to power through the sand and it all worked out really well. This is one that I bought second hand that someone had already built and yes I do really like that Pumpkin like body shell. Oh yes the sea water won't have done it any good 😬 No I didn't use stainless steel screws I'm afraid ☹️ I did rinse and dry it when I got back and hopefully it's ok. Cheers for watching mate. Hiya John. Yeah this thing has had a new lease of life with this new setup. It was much better than I expected down on the beach. The shell is like a Midnight Pumpkin but sadly it doesn't fit on a CW-01 as it's too narrow. Anyway I was super happy with how it performed. Great run Pete! That thing looked awesome on the sand, even better in the salty foam.... and luckily no sign of nearly loosing you to sea like we nearly did with the chief engineer! Paddle tires certainly worked a treat, and quite appropriately named. Bet you had one hell of a clean up on after this run? Don't know how you managed to find a dry day, it's rained daily down here for nearly 3 months.... and apparently due to the 'Elnino' effect we have another 3 months of rain to come. 😞 Cheers for all the great content throughout 2023, and wishing you a happy and healthy 2024 bud! 👍 👍 👍

Hi there! A yeah that was funny to see the chief engineer running after that body shell 🤣 This little car did much better than I thought and the brushless power made it an absolute blast. Clean up was just a hosing down and a bit of WF-40. Hopefully it's ok 😬 Oh yeah the weather has been mostly shite and this video was basically me seeing a break in the weather and rushing down to the beach as quickly as possible. Great run on the beach Pete! I hope it got a good rinse and cleaning after all that salt water. At least you did not fry your like I did mine earlier this year! LOL! Hi Addam. Oh I did have a problem with the receiver getting wet on one of the days despite my best efforts. The next day it was also zip tied into a balloon and that did the trick. The only other problem was the esc fan getting clogged with sand. Other than that really great fun down there. Wishing you and yours a very happy new year. Best wishes for 2024 😁👍👍

Hi Pete, great video and fun bashing as always. I hope that saltwater didn´t corrode your bearings, screws, dogbones and so on, freshwater does if you don´t dry and lube your RC´s after running in the wet, saltwater is still a lot worse! Nice to see a Pumpkin body over that chassis, didn´t know both share same wheelbase. However, I honestly think that our beloved Lunchie is the best RC to bash in the beach, gonna try to convince my wife to get mine to the beach next holidays... I wish you´ve had a nice Christmas and happy new year, keep the good work on and cheers from Madrid, Spain!

Hi there. Oh yes the salty sea water is definitely the enemy of our RC cars but sometimes it just has to be done. You're right that the Lunchbox is probably best at the beach and suffers the least damage because of its design. Yeah the MF-01X chassis at its shortest length is the same as the Lunchbox and Pumpkin with is handy. I've never tried taking an RC on holiday but good luck with that. I've been considering some of these paddle tyres, part of me is wondering if they'd do well in the water. My CC01 has been becoming a submarine lately

I've plugged up the air holes in the wheels on these because they were bound to fill up with sand and water. It did perform really well but going in the sea was probably a bad idea. Fun though! Many thanks indeed for watching 😁

Hiya Dom. Well yeah I think so 😬 This was two different days and the first day ended slightly too early because despite waterproofing the receiver, it did stop working. Brought it back to life at home and on the second day all was fine. Will see how it is long term. A few rusty screws I'm sure. Cheers for watching mate. Best wishes 😁👍

Here is a question, if you have been running this chassis with the Beetle, which has the longer wheel base, what body is this? Does it fit that Wheel base or have you had to adjust the chassis? I find 239mm an awkward size for replacement bodies 🤔

Hiya. Ah the answer is that I've got two MF-01X's. This one is on the shortest wheelbase that is the same as the Lunchbox or Pumpkin. I got it second hand and I'm not sure where they got the body. Disappointingly despite it being the right wheelbase for a CW-01 it is narrower than a Pumpkin shell and doesn't fit. It's a good one for this though. well, I though that also, but the Wheel arches are the issue as they do not line up, it's not like the TT02 where you can flip the arms. I have an Escort shell peppered with holes from trying to get it to work
