@PoorBoysRC TT 01 / TT-02 Speed Challenge, Last Brushless Attempt! Can I get over 50mph?

‪@poorboysrc‬ Hi all. Well I gave it another go as I really wanted to get over 50mph but did I do it? I know we are at over 80mph in the contest but I was interested to know how fast I could make my little TT-01 go. I think that with a bit of gearing up and a really nice road I could do better but I'm calling it quits here for the brushless side of the contest. See you soon with the same car with a brushed motor and NiMH pack. Many thanks for watching. Please like and comment :-)

    Hey Pete, stop calling me Shirley!!! 🤣🤣 Hell man, I feel your pain on that car park, looked like a right pig to keep in line on that rough and loose surface, but good on you for not giving up! I called that last run at 52 before the meter kicked in, not a bad guess and many congrats for beating your PB. It's definitely not easy getting these cars to go fast on the roads we have available, the car park we use up here ain't much better than where you are running... Rob and I even took a broom last time to try and get some gravel off our runway! Anyway, great stuff, mate, have a smashing weekend, you deserve that beer! 😎👌👍

    Hiya mate. Ooh I've just watched your vid too and to be honest I'm not really sure what I can do that you haven't tried already. With the brushless I guess I could put the maximum gearing on but I still don't think I could get it much quicker in the areas I know. I did notice that the car park you use looked a bit rough too. I have an idea which I will pitch to Fil that next year he does DT-02 & DT-03 buggies or truggies but you must do the speed test off road. Most of us have some sort of sports field we can use. Anyway cheers for watching this and I'll see you shortly in the comments of yours. Best wishes mate 😁👍👍

    Excellent job, Pete. That car is fast, just can't seem to hook up on that loose surface. I liked your approach, full-tilt into the grassy bank, worked perfect! Thanks for your contributions to the BL category. I'm sure the brushed boys will welcome your next entry with open arms (and possibly a few friendly jabs, too!). Cheers!

    Hiya Fil. Yeah I don't think I could get it too much quicker there so bowing out of the brushless contest while the car is in one piece! Not sure what I'm going to do to beat that pesky Mark in the brushed category but I'll have a go. Hey I know it's early to be thinking about next year but what about doing DT-02 & DT-03 buggies or truggies but ze extra rule is that you must do the speed run off road? So basically grass or dirt but no concrete or tarmac. It would stop us Brits from moaning about the state of our car parks, the busyness of our roads and speed bumps etc. 🤣 Just a thought but they are cheap kits to pick up and a lot of people have them already. Cheers for watching mate and I look forward to the next summary of results. Ooh I think that you have a vid that I've not seen so I'll check that out asap. 😁

Looking forward to seeing you unleash the Wylie magic in the brushed category next..... I'm guessing you saw Mark calling you out in his latest video? Be careful, him and Rob have a secret army of squirrels working for them! 🤣 🐿️ Have you had that MG Metro back up in that car park fella?...... there's some serious skid marks on that surface!!! Hey yeah the driving at full tilt into the bank did seem like a good strategy in the end. I'm very interested to see how you guys get on with 3s. Really you do need a bit of space to do it. Oh the Wylie magic is usually just to put a brushless motor and lipo in everything and I really have no idea about brushed and NiMH. Mark might well be safe on this but I have to give it a try. Oh yes the boy racers had been out in their full sized cars in the car park but it wasn't me as I'm far too sensible these days 😇 Cheers for your great feedback as ever and I look forward to your next attempt 😁👍

Oh yeah I broke the other speed meter on that last attempt so I had to sneakily buy the new one 😂 33mph is not to be sniffed at for a truggy. Did you video the skateboard park footage? Ha ha, yeah, it's the law you need to say which button you press, so true! I have that GPS app controlled device also and I quite like it, only issue is my phone is really old and slow, so it lags a lot... Apart from the rough surface asphalt, looks like a nice area, plety space for some good speed! And of course an amazing result, that is fast!

    Ha yeah it does amuse me that just about everyone announces the buttons they are pressing on the speed app, 'stop....read' etc. 😂 Yeah the one advantage of a fairly crap summer in Britain is that the beach car park is often quiet. The surface is rough as hell but plenty of space as you say. I'm sure I could have squeezed another few mph out of this but thought I'd quit while it was in one piece. I've done some test runs on brushed and Mark has nothing to worry about so far. Oh yes an IPA is always deserved after the hard work of RC'ing. I just hit 56 mph with my little truck and I think that was it's last run. It's an ok quality chassis and drivetrain, just not designed very well. I'm thinking of swapping over to the TT02 chassis, but it seems just as unstable at higher speed. Maybe it's the tires?

  • @PeteWylieRC

    @PeteWylieRC

    Hey that's a good speed you got. I think that the TT-01 is a more planted road car and the steering has less slop but the TT-02 has more possibility of raising the ride height for rally driving. Also I think that the TT--02 is easier to work on. People were certainly getting great speeds out of both of these during the speed contest. Many thanks for watching and your comments 😁👍👍
