Speed Run Tamiya TT 01 Put Out to Grass!

Well the ‪@poorboysrc‬ speed run challenge 2023 is over and it was a difficult time for many TT-01's and TT-02's including mine. I thought I would retire mine to an easy life in the country where it can frolic with the wildlife and generally have a lovely time. Obviously being me I made it do some jumps against its will too! I haven't changed anything about the car since the challenge and it has the same tyres, motor, gear ratio etc. so it did pretty well off road although I'd probably give it more suspension travel if I was planning to do this more often. As ever, many thanks indeed for watching. Please like and comment and all that :-)

Imagine being that car...you sit on a shelf in a warehouse, you get picked up and put in a box, exiting! Bouncing around in a delivery van and then it goes all quiet, you hear a rustling sound as the package is carried to the house you will call home. You hear the sound of someone cutting open your box and suddenly you realise...your new owner is Pete Wylie! 😩

Haha, well it could have gone to Kevin Talbot! It's getting it now, etc. Cheers for helping with the shots of the jumps. It is now mended and not sure whether to make it brushed for the car park races as I don't want the truck body to have such high speed crashes. Cheers for watching mate :-)

Hiya Pete! Your videos always stand out from the rest matey....... They have a level of energy incomparable to anything else!!! You just know it's a Pete Wylie production when there's breakneck speed, plenty of air time, and who can forget that iconic music?!! Love the way you capture the action with the camera.....so fluent! Who would have thought a cheap touring car platform would be so much fun off road?!! The new forest ponies don't seem at all phazed..... they must be used to you by now! All the best matey. 😊 👍 👍 👍

Ah you are very kind indeed. It is good to get back off road after all the tarmac based action of the speed run videos. Yes this car is really a road car without much suspension travel but it did really well on the bumpy grass. This is now back to being the racing truck with a brushed motor so it is now genuinely having an easy life. Oh yes I obviously don't want to upset the horses and generally avoid them but they sometimes come over to me to see what's going on. Many thanks again for your kind comments. Best wishes to you and yours 😁👍

OMG Pete! That poor TT01! 😬😬 You really sent it in this video, those jumps on the golf course were just awesome though! Great footage of it whizzing by and getting some big air, a "proper" Pete Wylie RC video, just like in the olden days! Gotta say it looked impressive though, especially as it was still in speed run setup. Who says Tamiya ain't tough? A great advert for an entry level screw-together plastic kit if ever I saw one! Wishing you a lovely weekend, mate! Cheers! 🍻😁👌👍

Hiya mate. Oh yes I was a bit mean to it considering that it was supposed to be having a rest after the speed contest 😂 These are genuinely really tough and I think the fact that they are quite compact does help. Yes it was exactly the same as I had it for the last speed test but all of this video was only on 2s. Weekend is going well. Just got a beer on the go and we are going to a curry place nearby where you can take your own booze which really cuts down the cost of an evening out. Hope you are having a good one too. Best wishes mate 😁👍

For the second time in one calendar year, the TT01/TT02 big air award goes to.... Pete Wylie! 🎉 Seriously though, I'm quite impressed at how the TT01 handled those jumps! I never would have expected it to jump so well. Fun video, Pete. 👊🏼🍻

Haha, yeah this little car is no stranger to flying through the air 😂 Yes it's like a little missile isn't it? Amazing that nothing really broke during the speed tests or this bash session. Tamiya tough as they say 😂 Cheers for watching Fil, much appreciated 😁👍

Hi there. Yeah it did well off road and all this was just on 2s. I have done what I promised now and so it's back to brushed with the truck body on for some slower runs. Many thanks indeed for watching and your comments. Much appreciated 😁👍👍

Hiya Nick. Yes I was surprised how good this was off road considering that the suspension is quite firm for on road and there isn't much ground clearance. Many thanks for watching. Always much appreciated 😁👍

Hi there. Yes it's a great place for RC. The horses do keep the grass nice and short although they do leave little piles of recycled grass that are best avoided 😬 Many thanks indeed for watching. Much appreciated 😁👍

Hiya John. Ah yes one last little blast here but it actually has become a brushed car now with the racing truck body. I was a bit mean to it wasn't I but amazingly it took it all because it's Tamiya tough! Many thanks for your kind comments my friend. Very best wishes to you and yours 😁👍

How fun was that! Love how the horses aren’t bothered by it. It certainly looked Rapid in the grass , makes me want to give it a go, I’d need an on road chassis for that though ;) nice work

Hiya Andy. Oh yes I am careful around the horses and normally avoid them all together but sometimes they come over to see what's happening 😂 Yes I'm more of an off road fan and really all you need is a set of rally block tyres on a road car and away you go! Many thanks indeed for watching 😁👍

Another fantastic video Pete it's too bad you can't find a Pontiac black Trans Am T-top you know just like what Burt Reynolds was driving in "Smokey and The Bandit" film or what David Hasselhoff was driving on that 80's series"Knight Rider?"😁😁👍👍😎👍😎 BTW You didn't hit any horse💩💩😆😆😆

Oh yeah it would look great with a Trans Am body on for sure 👍 Such a great movie. Trouble is if I do too much of this type of driving it would end up looking more like a stock car 😬 Many thanks indeed for watching and your great feedback as ever. Much appreciated 😁👍👍
