Kyosho Beetle Buggy | Hobbywing 1080 | Holmes Hobbies Retro Sport 19 T

So have a look at this buggy which really took me by surprise, being so awesome even if it's old and outdated.
Well, it is a true Legend, like Kyosho calls it. It sure is ancient, and there must be thousands of them, out with the hobbyists around the world. But this one is mine!
I did manage to put my own personal touch on it, have a look below if you haven't seen my paint video where I give it and my Inferno some bright Kyosho colours:
• Paint video: Kyosho x ...
So it does quite well, it's good fun as the video suggests. The HW1080 ESC really delivers the punch that the Holmes Retro Sport deserves. What I didn't mention in the video is I am using the lowest gearing that the buggy came with. For that extra punch and the occasional random wheelie.
I think that was enough of that.
The music was really an event in itself in this video, I was quite amazed to find great tunes like the ones in this video, see the links below to those songs, as well as link to the channel where I found it.
White Bat Audio: Endless Night
• Chill Retro Synthwave ...
White Bat Audio: Race Against Sunset
• 80s Synthwave / Retrow...

@@King-Bob-on-the-Rocks Hey Thomas, thanks for the nice comment. Yeah, I had some bad experiences with HW1060, so this one is my favourite at the moment. I haven't actually checked the temps on the ESC, and on the Beetle, it is placed really badly, with not a lot of air flow and cooling, but at least I haven't noticed any issues, and no shutdown or anything like that. Yesterday I even drove it like 10 minutes on 3s, also no issues, the motor got a bit warm but not hot. The setttings, I think mostly just stock on the ESC: 1: 2 2: 1 3: 3 4: 6 5: 4 6: 2 7: 9 8: 1 9: 1 10: 4 11: 4 12: 7 13: 2 14: 2 15: 1

Thoroughly entertaining video matey!! Very well produced, the eighties style synth pop music worked a treat. 👌 Cannot fault any of the kyosho legendary series, and never ceases to amaze me at how well all of their vintage re re models still perform, especially when hooked up with modern running gear! Body shell finish was sweet.... and boy did I cringe as she had a tumble or two.... but it was very obvious you were loving it, and great to see you having such fun. 😊 That thing handles delightfully , slow mo caught the action so well. Awesome! 👍 👍 👍 👍

I'm a metal head myself, but for the videos, this is what works well, I look forward to experimenting some more... It's really worked well, this buggy, I somehow managed to put the right amount of power into it, definitely made me smile a few times during that run. And the tumbles, those I don't mind, I did reinforce the body, so the scuff marks are just battle scars, shows it's being used, ha ha! Have a great weekend there, buddy!

Hi there. Great looking beetle. Yes I'm one of everyone and a big fan of these Kyosho ladder frame chassis. I know the font suspension is a pain in the a** and the big weakpoint of these cars. Maybe if you lower the angle of the bended bar at the front the suspension might improve.

I do want to change it at some point, I think it will be great with either some Tamiya rally wheels on it or 4wd front buggy wheels both front and back, it will also make it look more like the real Baja bugs. But I think you know me by now, my ambition level exceeds all reality, ha ha!
