The sand looks so cool in videos flying out from cars ripping round the track. An then with the paddle tires amazing!
Back in MY 'stock 2wd' professional race days, even a stock 27t 24 degree bushinged motor, the best motors' bushings we wore out, so lesser/no friction. 😁
I’m just looking forward to seeing more fun stuff. For fun you should try a Brushed motor with timing I really enjoyed it 👍
Having one of these myself go back to the holmes 12t with stock gearing and put on 3s
Go bandit go! Sweet demo
It was also a useful and interesting video.😁😁😁
I remember pre brushless systems I had two 9 turns in my emax with a novac esc. That thing ripped pretty good. I wish I still had it
I run quite a few 2wd Tamiya buggies and trucks on 2S all with high RPM tuned motors. EVERYTHING gets hot within about 5 mins run time. Just part of the game running brushed. Only setup I can run all day is the Grasshopper with a 540 silver can 😁
Would be cool to see a VXL Bandit with paddles running 3s on the track lol

Mine is 3s on the vinelion vxl system on the ho vo lipo let me clue ya this thing rips ass you'll enjoy it 🤘
I think your gonna struggle a lot trying to race any kind of spec class until you replace the beach sand with actual clay dirt. Thats alot of excess weight your poor little bandit was transporting, lol. Bashing looks fine but that sand has to get into everything and eat up bearings, motors, gears, ect.

I just checked one of my 12-turn Titans. These motors have 15 degrees of counter-clockwise timing. The reason I use higher turn motors is so I can gear higher without as much wear on the motor.
@ExocagedRC
Жыл бұрын
yeah the timing makes a difference, this holmes has 0 for crawlers so its kinda out of place in the bandit
Try the arrma brushed motors. They work great in my stampede
that part is a traxxas gear ratio mesh spacer. they have like 10 different versions for different gear ratio-pinion sizes
You should check out the new brushed motors from Hobbywing.
8 Turn crawl master in my banded, it rips you might want to try that one.

Or the XL5ESC paired with the Arma magnum 12 turn is pretty fast I know that for a fact I ran that in my two wheel slash for some time and it was fast.
Would be interesting to see what could be done with a budget brushed power plant in a dedicated race buddy
I would limit it to factory brushless systems and hobbywing max10 combo on 2s
@ExocagedRC

nah any brushed is fine no brushless for these
Why not try the craw master 8 turn
I have the vinelion vxl motor & yes my bandit rips like hell but I wanna replace it with the castle or spektrum mamba

If possible I’d like to see the infraction mega 9t 570 can. My guess it would throw off the balance of the car
Just go brushless and fix the motor limit to 21.5 or 17.5 so it's equal for everyone. It'll surely be alot more fun and less hassle

@@ExocagedRC yes of course but a budget friendly brushless system isn't going to break the bank compared to burning out brushed motors racing around the track
Try gears and a 590! Lol maybe a 8 turn 550, or the lowest turn you can get? Idk be cool to see
I do run a custom motor it is a 8 turn triple brush motor on the castle Mama Max ESC on 3s on a 32 pitch 62 tooth and a 19 tooth pinion
The Titan 12T is a good motor. Youd be amazed at the difference a race prepped tranny would make , youd definitely hit the teens , the factory grease in there is like glue and adds soooo much resistance. Great video thank you , Ive always wanted to compare a 12T 550 to a 15T 540 .
Man if you want a hot brushed motor, get the Surpass "power" series 12t 550. I know it's a cheapo Chinese job, but they all are, even the Holmes(The brushed cheap ones). It's full bearing, rebuildable, and adjustable timing. I've got three of them. One in a Tamiya Fire Dragon and it will do 45mph on 2s using a 1060 HW esc. They're fast man, I'm telling you. They've got really strong magnets and scream! Just make sure you order the"Power"series, if you try it. It's worth the 30.00.

@@cwthemachinist I see, would you recommend one, or do you believe there are better options? Don't want a rebuildable motor as I am no racer, just looking for a replacement motor for my Redcat Dukono and was looking at the Injora 550 brushed motor.
@cwthemachinist
Жыл бұрын
@Jack Anapes I'm not sure about the Injora as far as quality. I don't think they are very good. I can speak about those Surpass 550 "Power" series though. The 12 turn are super fast and powerful for a brushed motor. Even if you don't need to rebuild, it's a super value for money. I would think of it like the really cheap ones burn up and you've gotta throw it out and get another. The Surpass you can replace whatever parts you need if it burns up instead of buying another. But if you're just wanting super inexpensive, then use the Injora.
@jackanapes6676

@@cwthemachinist Do you believe the 12 turn might be too fast for the Dukono? Or maybe install low pinion gear to maybe compensate for the motor turns? I know the Dukono has a 19 turn 550, didn't know that a 12 turn might work?
speaker was not on it was making an echoing in the back round during that last video. can you fix that ?

If not, you could try Team Brood brushed motors.
I used to race 2wd buggy, late '80s and early '90s. When your car hits top speed at the end of the longest straight, you've got it about right. Good rule to follow no matter what size the track is. Another thing affected by gearing is run time. Figure out how long a battery will last doing laps with a nimh and a lipo. See what people show up with, maybe run 2 classes if the difference is significant.
Would an arrma 9 turn be any faster? Or are arrma brushed motors trash?
@ExocagedRC
Жыл бұрын
A 9t would be faster for sure. Not sure on how durable they are.
Hey Exo, Can we go ahead and run this class on 3s? I don't have any 2s packs for this buggy.. I've been running the XL5-HV on 3s with the Titan 12 turn currently (I also have the Holmes 550 12t to test out). I've considered trying the Arrma 570 9 turn, but it's 30 bucks and I don't know if the esc will handle it.

gotta keep this one cheap what plug is on yours? I may have a battery you can use, also I'm not so sure the XL5 can handle a 9t yet.

@@ExocagedRC This one still uses the TRX plug because I run my traxxas 3s packs that are for my TRX4. It's really not that big of a deal, I can pickup a couple 2s packs for this class, I was just happy with the performance of the 3s packs being able to clear the jumps.
