Very cool Del
very nice
Great job and intel,TY
Fantastico......
I'm trying to like it. I'll wait for the finished product.
Gedore is cheating with this blue set, because sockets in set is not original blue gedore socket with catalog numbers, it is something chip shit from Taiwan, only ratchets itself is original blue Gedore, so pathetic, so German. With overprice for brand only.
The sound of the taping bit with the tape pulls was just so satisfying..... Your freehand line drawing is just out of this world.... I cant even do a straight line with a ruler..... I was thinking it is a bit long... it comes off the bottom of the tank... I was thinking a certain part of men's anatomy might get caught.... It happened to me when I test rode an Indian Chief (Future Video)... It was not PLEASANT to say the least.... And then you thankfully cut it back but it might have still have needed a bit more cut off... If you do need to cut more off you should update us on that.... Another great video.... I think you should really think about the overhang at the bottom end of the tank..... Try it on the bike sit on the bike slide yourself as far forward on the seat as you can.... I think you should really do it. I think there could be an issue if you don't test for that.....
Just wow! Amazing fabrication! Great to watch.
Thank you so much, im glad you enjoyed it!
Very nice!
looking forward to the next one del
Beautiful work Del!
Are you actually blind?
Nice one del
Thanks 👍
Respect your patience and steady hand to achieve those stellar results. Splitting those tubes in half was a monster job. Not for the faint of heart as the saying goes. I can only imagine there was a fair amount of shop clean up after so many hours of sparks and dust flying. Your efforts are much appreciated sir. Blessings to you and Penny. ❤👍👍
Thank you so much for your kind words Rick, you're right, it was a little dusty afterwards, but i cover the shiny bikes up so it's just a sweep round at the end.. Take cvare and stay safe.. D&Pxx
In a word, superb! I've been thinking about something similar for a while now for my bike to mount a gps speedo into. Loved the words of wisdom. All the best Del and Penny x
Thank you for your kind words of support as awlays Mark, im glad you like it, there is stil la little left to do when i get time, but got to paint and fit the tank first, not to mention fit a new pump etc.. always lots on the list aye.. Stay safe and god bless.. D&Px
Looking good mate! Hopefully the spring weather is getting nicer for you. Any chance we get to see some riding videos of the sportster soon? I'm sure you could use a 360 camera to catch all the heads turning while you ride thru town. 😎🤙🏽
Thanks mate, that would be nice, im planning to get the Sportster MOT'd in the next few weeks, and yes of course, as awlays, a video out and about with a walk round in the sunshine..
Harley's banana boat ;-) Thanks for sharing, Günter/Nürnberg PS: Not metal work fpor me today. Was trying with a friend to fit a new clip lock to the new Transalp O-ring chain. We thought it was too flimsy, gotta get a new rivet lock instead tomorrow. A biker's work is never done.
Keeps the origional theme with a custom vibe. I look forward to seing the finished artical.👍👍
Hi I wish there are similar crash bars for the Street/Speed Twin 900. Those can save you a real headache if you fall on the left hand side with the huge risk of damaging the shifter shaft mechanism which is prone to break on these Triumphs.
This bike needs a wheelie good band name - makes for an eye-Ker-ching first album cover too - 'Twin-Tanks Del & the Steel Bananas!' . . . (Yeah, I know, I know, - you can thank me later : )xx
That's not a steel banana. That's a Lemon Tube Snake! :)
I'm interested where's this going? Is this just a tank decoration, or it will have some function, like to attach some tiny clock/tacho device, or some kind of pouch etc...
Its a console
Another good job mate keep up good work👍
Great video Sir and a nice design for the tank
Thank you kindly
nice to see you cross the finish line on this one. Was also glad you chopped the height of the profile down, i think it suits the proportion of the tank far better. Have a great weekend.
Thanks again mate.. you too.
Nice one Del ! Great bit of fabrication ,can't wait to see the paint job on it 👍
Thanks mate👍
As usual there Monkey boy, your vision on projects and how you’ve take raw materials and pieces and has turned them into something special. Well done mate. Keep tossing out these great projects! Cheers mate and also wanted to give you and Penny a warm hello.. Most of, thanks to your Spurs lot for your recent results for my Blues.
I can almost hear a collective "OOoohhhhh!!! THAT's what he had in mind!" when you slimmed her right down! :) I cheated and looked into my Crystal Ball, so I already knew you were headed down this path, so no surprise here... As always, I am really jealous of your "Quik-Change grinding disk abilities. I tried it and snapped and snapped til my fingers were sore, but no such luck! Can't wait to see it finished! The last shot in primer with the light at the right angle sure made the different steps you stacked up really Pop! Lookin' great!
Thanks Tommy, glad you approve, try crossing your fingers behind your back with the other hand and then the snap change should work..lol! Have a great week and stay safe buddy.. always good to hear from you.
@@Moonfleet41 I will definitely have to use that method and see if I can maser it. It would be a real time saver! Take it real easy, D&P :)
Turning out to be one more than 4 of 4 videos then.
👍👍👍✊
👍👍👍✊
Any feedback on these since the video ? Still working ok? I’ve heard the tec springs fade?
Never heard of such a thing, never had it happen, so can't comment mate !
As new👍😉😎
Superb !
Great video, as always! . That job is a big one- but they do help keep the lights on..Makes me appreciate the shaft drive Guzzi's and BMW's.
👌👍👍👍👍👍👍
It's been nearly ten years since my last motorcycle flat tire, so long ago I can almost forget about such things. But Sunday past the Missus and I were coming home from a nice breakfast ride down Indiana's Dune Highway when the rear of my FJR went wobbly on I-80 at some 75mph. Fortunately, I was able to get to the shoulder safely before all the air was lost, and thanks to our Sena bluetooths, I was also able to alert the Missus, who was leading on her Ninja 1000. At first, I called the BP Motor Club, only to learn they'd discontinued motorcycle towing as part of the "deluxe" package and they wanted $127 to send a truck. In a few hours. Maybe. Getting impatient, I got out my Stop & Go repair kit, along with my Aerostich mini-compressor, things pretty much always stashed in the sidecase if I'm going more than fifteen miles. I needed the long-nose pliers from my tool kit to extract the remainder of a #8 round-head slotted wood screw (who uses those things anymore?) and then deployed the rope-plug from the Stop & Go. The kit included a tube of rubber cement, so I doused the rope plug with it just for luck. I did indeed over-plunge the first rope and needed to use a second, which went in nicely after reaming as shown in the video. I gave it a few minutes to set up- not sure how important that is- and then hooked up the compressor to the battery tender/heated jacket liner SAE plug. I may not have put too much air in there, and I did not have a gauge aboard (why not?), but I set out for the nearest service station, gingerly at first, then going along at 60mph for the six miles or so. There I pumped it up to 42psi and made the remaining ten miles home just fine. Can''t say enough good about the Stop & Go outfit and the compressor combo. It not only saved the tow expense, but many hours by the roadside waiting. And, my wife thinks I'm some kind of wizard for being prepared.
Hi Del & Penny, hope your week is going well. Coming a long nicely mate and so much better than just buying one , looking forward to the next one. Take care, Cheers.
Thanks! Have a great week there, weather here is up and down, but this is England lol Ride safe and thanks for your kind support, D&Px
looking good
Thanks 👍
How many miles on that belt before it needed a swap?
Like another viewer mentioned.....laying down a bead like a stack of dimes. Not sure if that is a U.S. term only. I guess you would have to substitute a coin in local currency. 😁 The pieces fit perfectly Del and no purple fingernails. I'd say that's a win-win on the English wheel. Props to Penny for getting such great shots of the welding. Except for the fumes it was just like being right at the shop with you. Cheers to you both. ❤👍👍
Thanks so much Rick, Im glad you approve, and yeah, i think 'Stack of pennies' works here, if a bit untidy maybe, i focus on penetration before looks, so they always need a little grinding, but then there's always a lot of snobbery about welding aye.. Take care and enjoy your week, always good to hear from you.. D&Pxx
Sweet !!! It's coming out Great Bro ! 👍🏻🤠🇺🇸👍🏻
Thanks 👍
Nice to see some actual work being done rather than other channels who just sit and talk!
Del, you are a genius! You have saved my behind twice in the last month, first with the broom handle trick and now my handle bars are straight, thank you!
Cracking video.
That is a arse of a job my 2009 fat Bob was bad enough to do oh oh that bloody nut had to split that too to get off 👍
It's always an arse of a job on any big twin, just more so when it a huge dresser like this..lol! and yeah, ill never bother trying to get that nut off again, just split it every time and replace it, they're usually red thread locked anyway !
Hi Delboy, I can't figure out how it works but that English wheel is something else. I think the finished product will look great. Best regards, Frank from Florida.
Thanks Frank, it's probably best explained like rolling pastry, the wheels squash the metal and as one wheel is flat and the other curved, it bends it down a fraction with every pass, that's by no means the professional explaination, just how i see it happens..! Thanks for your kind words buddy, take care and stay safe.
I viewed it several times and now I see what you mean. Good explanation.
Hi Penny and Del - nicely done! Fine work on the English wheel and with the hammer and dies to get the curve just right. Anticipating part IV! Take care, dear friends. Be well and ride safe!
Thank you so much for your kind words as always, im glad you're enjoying it, it's just for fun and instead of buying an over priced plastic part.. Take care and have a great week, D&Px
Hiya Penny and Del - great video! Once again your fabrication skills are on display and once again you've come through. Really impressive work, that, especially considering it was done on a machine not designed for that purpose... but as they say, there's more than one way to skin a cat! Great result - looking forward to the next one! Take care, dear friends. Be wall, ride safe, and I hope you had a great weekend!
top job del. here is my story, changed my brakefluid a good year ago. but lately the feeling of the brakelever was not right. felt notchy when pulling harder, took a good look a the fluidbottle it reads shell dot4 esl (esl stands for extended service life) suited for abs systems. got a 1998 fireblade and she is not liking it, that stuff is much thinner went back to regular dot 4 and all is fine now.
Ended up finding this video because I removed my back wheel to get my tire replaced. I made the mistake of removing the bolt and the pin. Took me two hours of pain and frustration to reattach it and get it properly working.
A lot of work, indeed. But so much better than just buying parts. The joy of bespoke craftsmanship! Günter/Nürnberg
great video
Thanks!
