Battery 95% before charging - what a jolly good state it is in. My classic battery on the Transalp 600 died after 2,5 years despite regular maintenance. Bought a modern gel battery instead, but needed a modern rectifyer for it. 150 Euros together. But it's working perfectly, the old girl starts better than ever and saves me from looking after the water level. Where is springtime? Sure thing Günter, the Motobatt batteries are incredibly good, they can sit for months almost and still fire up fine, they're not gel (apparantly a glass mat principle) and with 2 sets of terminals they don't only fit universally, but also you can use the spare terminals for accessories! Thanks buddy, thanfully that was just a crack in the lip around the exhaust port, don't even know how it happened, but soon fixed... had it been more serious, I would have stripped the motor and possibly replaced the head... but yeah, can't wait to get back on the road, this is one bold and exciting bike to ride!

As you were taking bits off i was remembering watching the vids where you built them. Made me realise how long i've been subbed to you're channel. Just want to say thanks for the many hours of interesting and absorbing content you've provided Del, I know it's not easy to keep it going, especially through the dicky ticker phase, just want to say you've added to what's good about being a biker, and it's appreciated.

Thanks mate, so much, for those kind words of encouragement... you're right, I hadn't reckonded on the wave of emotions you go through as the memories come flooding back when you strip and o' familiar bike you've built... Sadly the ticker is an on-going life now for me, it will always be with me as a dark cloud on the horizon, but good meds and the support of a good woman, I should be ok to play out a little longer! Thank you for your wonderful support mate.

I try to stay in the loop with the stupidly complicated new vehicles by watching a lot of auto repair channels. I can't help but compare how you do a disassembly with some I see on other channels. I guess what I'm trying to say is you can tell a lot about the quality of work just by watching how a real pro takes things apart. 😁 Masterful job as always. Wishing you both a great weekend. ❤👍👍

I didn't find your channel until after you had almost finished the Busa, but now I get to see your reboot this time around. Lucky me! The best part of keeping and labeling all the pieces and parts is that Mad Max will have what amounts to a wardrobe up there in the rafters. A new change of clothes?? No worries... All the bugs have been worked out long ago, all the test fittings and fab work are already behind you, and you will have the old look there for you if you feel the need to dress Mad Max in a different suit.... After you get to have the fun of making this new look that's in your noggin! I look forward to seeing where you take us on this trip. Enjoy the weekend, D&P.

You're not wrong, with it being a bike I've had for years, all the bugs are worked out and I know where I am on wear and tear, this won't be a long project, just a little re-style for a fresh feel! Like you say, a new set of clothes for the ol' war horse!

Waiting to see more weldage, paintage, and hopefuly some scrimmage! Back to the roots!

Been watching this channel since th early days of the shed!! If there was one thing I could say that has improved my home maintenance, it would be those immortal words that still ring in my ears when a spanner is in my hand,....
