    Always worth a 'full & free' limit check with non-standard bar & riser combos, most fuel tanks I've met object to an unforeseen 'elbow' in their flanks at full lock, - especially on the test ride. (A Matchless twin's tank, butchered onto an Ariel 350 field/trials iron with farm-shed roofing bolts & bungees. ('We were young!') Brum-brum, clunk, 10yds, crunch. most embarrassing : )xx

    So cool that the bar clamps have a thought out adjustment- it's the little things that are appreciated like that! Ya, the bar ends look a little bit um... 50's bullet bra for this maybe. (not that there's anything wrong with that lol) I agree on perhaps a slightly less eye-pokey profile. 😁

    I'm of the age (OLD) where I can appreciate a more upright riding position. 😁 I see another viewer asked about the angle of the hydraulic reservoirs. I guess you would have to be careful the first time you removed the covers to check fluids. Amazing how small changes in the rider triangle can make a bike so much more comfortable. Blessings always to you and Penny. ❤👍👍

  • @Moonfleet41

    @Moonfleet41

    3 ай бұрын

    Sure thing Rick, in the sight glass the level of the fluid is correct and only just touching the lip of the reservoir with the cap off, so no fluid is bearing against the joint... and remember, the reservoirs are at this angle (specially the brake side), when the bike's on the side stand with the bars turned to the left in standard set up, the rubber seal keeps the fluid in so it's fine! Just as long as the feed holes at the bottom of the reservoir are covered which they very much are. Have a wonderful second half of your week mate, and yeah I agree, more upright riding agrees with old bones lol. D&Px

    Early on, dad told me to keep a rig Stock, as you will have the most potential buyers, because Factory is what sold. You change the wheels & tires, the next person may not like that... I happen to like the stock radio, & when I bought my MDX, it had an aftermarket CD, USB & all that, I put in a stock CD, for less than $70. So much better, I recycled the other.

    You made me wondered bout long bars when the throttle side doesn't fit, sure enough, you mention how can be done. I've know people looked at it like a puzzle. Anyway, I like the rubber to reduce vibration, which helps long-distance rides. Lots pro and cons. 🤷‍♂️

    Hi Penny and Del... great video! I've never seen regular bars mounted in place of clip-ons - that was an education. I like the tip of moving the bars over to get the throttle assembly on - I came across that trick when I changed the ignition on the ol' Bandit a few years ago. Take care, dear friends. Ride well and be safe!

    Its been 50 years since I bought a brand new Rickman Bonneville and occasionally I would take off the clip ons and fairing and put on bars like the Renthals you showed just for a change of riding position and the look of the bike. It made the bike look like a flat tracker.

    I've been thinking about this for my bike for some time now. FJ12 handlebar conversion kit including bars £200. Yeah, there's the locating pins inside the switchgear that go into standard bars. I've seen them in aftermarket steel but not alu bars. There is, of course, that video where you fitted renthel bars on your old bandit Del where you generally filed them down a bit. And they still grip. Nothing like twisting the throttle and the switchgear slips

  • @Moonfleet41

    On the Busa theres already plenty of wiring in the nose cone, just re-route it slightly, the throttle cables are cheap from wemoto, just go 2" longer.. and that just leaves clutch and brake hoses.. get yerself a quote buddy, it'll be pretty affordable.. the biggest headache is always the wiring, but not ona Busa !

  • @paulregner5335

    Just my take on the project, but I might have experimented with turning the bars you selected around and rotating them downward for the old school cafe racer look. It might make the brake and clutch reservoirs mount more level as well.

    I find myself in an unusual position today. It has always been my policy to offer up words of encouragement on a job well done ( when a job has indeed been well done ) on all channels that I follow on the interwebs and have never asked for anything in return, on this or any other channel. Today, I would like something back in return. I had no idea that I was lacking in the video watching enjoyment department, but I was shocked when I noticed a feeling of something missing, an epiphany, if you will... When you pulled your clutch-side grip off, there was that rubber-on-metal squeak... I found it very unsatisfying. Which brings me to my request... I would like this request filled by everyone out there, from now on, but things must all have a start, so since this lack that I feel was instigated by Delboy's GArage, it is only fitting that this channel rectify my complaint. At least one time, just once, I would like to hear a Duck Quack in place of that mundane rubber-metal squeak. All other aspects of the production are spot-on, as usual. Thank you for your consideration.
