For this type of application, I will cut a hole in the cap, feed in some tubing to touch the bottom and poke a hole above the oil level on the side of the bottle. Then use an air gun to pressurize the bottle and it comes out the tubing. It’s important your air gun has the ability to feather the trigger. Ask me how I know. Also once did it with tire slime and forgot to remove the seal under the cap. Done properly though, it will empty a quart in about ten seconds.

This is a brilliant idea, most mechanic shops have a used powersteering pump lying somewhere that can be used in this case. Being creative and it works. The only thing i would add to this is adding a hanger or a stand to hold the pump without the need of sencond person.

Good idea but an easy way Ive found is use a gallon trans fluid jug. Put a tight fitting hose through the cap to the bottom of the jug and apply a small amount of air through a hole in the handle of the jug and fill the trans. When it’s full some will return back into the jug by gravity. For transmissions without a dipstick tube

Theres a tiny little adorable dip stick too! Love that bike. Last summer i got 112mph on the sand and a 230 foot booter in the same day. Not many bikes can do that. Before you remind me my bike only has a 4 speed gearbox from the factory, i did the WR450 gearbox swap.

@@Smokey.07 Actually in the case of transmission fluid it was to cut down on attempted warranty claims by people putting the wrong fluid into the transmission. Transmissions started to need more specialized fluids. People would put Dexron in a Chrysler etc. Or coolant or other weird stuff, that will wipe out a transmission's clutch packs very fast. Where wrong oil won't really cause an issue to an engine short term. I addition unless you have a leak transmission fluid level should never change. So a way to measure it wasn't needed. Unlike engine oil which will get burned off slowly by any engine.

It's probably got a raised tube above the filler point, the fluid feeds up the tube spilling into the sump, you fill until fluid stops pouring back out of the sump plug, that's when the level is correct within the sump.

What do you know about contamination? What fluids would you be pumping that a vehicle uses That it would be so necessary to have separate pumps to avoid the slightest possibility of contamination? The answer is not Dot 3 don't say brake fluid because you wouldn't use the pump as that would be retatted to use a power steering pump to fill brake fluid. Other than that all oil-based fluids would be fine with you draining the pump then switching fluids pump through an ounce or two to your waste oil then start using the pump. Heavy duty fleet mechanic 20 plus years. I get the feeling your automotive repair stories are all from high school shop. And you dream or think about working on your own cars but you never do. I'm I spot on?

@@Cyber_Cowboy wow! Over reaction much!? Go take a soothing bath in all that 80w90 gear oil you've been not contaminating with brake fluid. Just relax I'm sure there's a Detroit diesel somewhere that needs your help, because I don't need it. Stick to struggling with your kingpins and your boss will appreciate it. Since you made an assumption about me, let me make one about you. I bet you drive a light duty truck(domestic ofcourse like a tundra) that runs on deer blood and Copenhagen spit because you spend your money on cigs, chew and Busch light. I would even assume you would keep that scrotum ornament thing over your rear-end if your were allowed to. Am I right on any of those? relax brodozer, there are more automotive fluids out there than just ATF, DOT3 and conventional motor oil. Well ,I'm with my potty break. I should really get back to shopping for power steering pumps.
