Way back when I was racing off-road, I was going to do an over night race, so I put on dual Hella lamps side by side. One was a spot beam for distance, the other wide beam for peripheral lighting. Man those lights lit up the night, 5th gear full throttle down some fire roads and dry river beds, no problem. Probably not street legal, but if your setup is even half of what I had, you'll be happy.

That is some serious lighting for sure, I think rally cars use those, and yeah not road legal unless they have a directed beam, but you can achieve the saem power with the new LED bulbs which I will upgrade to!

Nothing like turning Night into Day.
Love the dual light look. Had two beefy 955 triples.Makes you look twice
Nicely done. Ponder using tubing instead of a flat plate to mount the lights.
I even love the ever so gently rounded profile of the front face- it's tiny little things like that, catching the almost subliminal details once things are finished, that set apart what could have been a simple, crude, right angle hunk of metal, into an overall eye pleasing aesthetic piece, without trying to stand out in a "look at me, look at me!" way.
Like the methods again That's a good snug fit. Just had a couple of hours on the f650gs doing some regular consumables. Brakes, battery and a chainguard swap. Very nice after work in the new garage.Going to watch your next episode now ( it's friday) when I get home from the Chinese takeaway. 👍✌️❤️

Hey buddy, Chinese takeaway, sounds like a perfect evening, a few beers to wash it down and you've set the weekend up right! Take care mate, stay safe, D&Px
A successful day. That first part of the bracket looks pretty sturdy, it has to take the weight of two lamps. Well done, Günter/Nürnberg

Exactly that mate.. those little robot masks don't do much for me..!
I guess it's like building a house...that first foundation piece has to be right. Great fab work as always Del. Drill bit sharpening is quite an art form. One that I have varying degrees of success with.😁😄 Looking forward to part 2. Thanks Del and Penny. Always fun to visit with you both. ❤👍👍

Sure thing Rick, it's all about the practice with the drill bits, if you copy the profile of a new drill bit then generally you'll get it right and after a while it'll be second nature! Have a great week there, and thank you for all your support, it's appreciated, D&Px

I also have varying degrees of success with drill bit sharpening... Oftentimes the degree varies not only from the prescribed degree, but indeed from one side of the bit to the other. When I am feeling especially, but completely unintentionally creative, they oftentimes wind up with varying degrees on all planes simultaneously. Then I get to dress my stone and remove all grooves and humps and settle for just one degree per side :)
Hi del another great video. What lights were they your fitting cheers and will you be doing a night time demo to see how bright they are cheers
I done that type work in, different way, I used a bender but yours is quite hand bend with press. Nice!! Film director did a great job.

Thanks Paul.. not following the current SF fasion for those tiny transformer masks...not my thing, i still love the good old Speed Triple look.. and round here at night it's "dark as under the bed" mate... so good lights are essential to spot the badger assassins..!

@@Moonfleet41 I rarely ride the bike after dark for two reasons. The stock headlight on the 1300 V Star is abysmal and too many critters and bugs after dark in Ontario.
Nice video Del & Penny. Looking god mate, dual light setup is going to look excellent. Hope all is going well for you both, enjoy the last part of your week. Still 30C + over this side. Cheers

Yeah, a super smooth bracket as opposed to welding and grinding. Do you not need a side light as well. Nice workmanship as always, Del.

Look good but you are gonna fit lights or clocks? 😂 do i win a prize for "spotlighting" the mistake 😊
Ignore my question their 5 inch bates lights cheers
She's going to look mean with that dual light setup, Del! You hit the nail on the head with pointing out the need to light up the whole world when riding out there with all the suicidal critters that seem to wait until you are right on top of them before they decide to cross the road. At least you will get the chance to singe their retinas out and hopefully lessen the "pucker factor" that occurs when you could reach out and grab 'em by the tail as you pass them by, then go home and change your unmentionables... That fit-up is top notch, and looks great with the slight radius on the forward facing face of the bracket. If you start with a wiggly piece, then everything else added on can never be solid, no matter how perfect the subsequent parts are. Anything added to that piece will be going on a rock-solid mount. Jolly good show, what? :)
@Moonfleet41
Ай бұрын
Thanks Tommy, and you're right, if the foundation piece is wrong, then every following element will continue to be wrong, so it needed to be precise! And you're right with the critters, the biggest danger is the deer, you see a buck run across in front, usually they'll make it across, but it's the doe that's usually following them that'll be on a perfect collision course... I hit one in a coach some years ago and it took the entire front panel off and wrecked it... and blow me, she just got up, shrugged it off and run away... it can happen so quickly!
Hiya Penny and Del - great video. Very nice fab work - there's always a lot to do, even for a simple piece. Great result - I look forward to seeing the rest of the headlight mount come into being. Take care, dear friends. Ride well and be safe.
