Hey Del like your work, couldn't have you just grinded off the tabs on the tank and have a more cleaner look?.

Not clean at all IMHO mate, there's a big ugly weld seam right down the middle.!

Depends on the look you are going for...
With the leading comment, Hear you there Del.
now that the profile is formed, will you be leaving the pointy edges to the textured part of the design? I thought maybe a small amount of fill with the welder or something might be ok? Have a great week.

Rough construction so far, much cleaning up still to be done!
"No-one will ever know the pain & violence it takes to become this gentle with the English wheel" (Fingernailus Mangalus) A pain for all thresholds & wavy nails! : )xx

You said that right Sir!
Hi Delboy, I can't figure out how it works but that English wheel is something else. I think the finished product will look great. Best regards, Frank from Florida.

Thanks Frank, it's probably best explained like rolling pastry, the wheels squash the metal and as one wheel is flat and the other curved, it bends it down a fraction with every pass, that's by no means the professional explaination, just how i see it happens..! Thanks for your kind words buddy, take care and stay safe.

I viewed it several times and now I see what you mean. Good explanation.
Hi Del & Penny, hope your week is going well. Coming a long nicely mate and so much better than just buying one , looking forward to the next one. Take care, Cheers.

Thanks! Have a great week there, weather here is up and down, but this is England lol Ride safe and thanks for your kind support, D&Px
Seeing that shape, looking like a cobra made from plate and tubing instantly made me think of an old ZZ Top tune... Tube Snake Boogie.... 🎶I know a gal who lives on the hill... She won't do it, but her sister will...🎶

Greatest lines ever! God bless Billy Gibbons...
A lot of work, indeed. But so much better than just buying parts. The joy of bespoke craftsmanship! Günter/Nürnberg
Nice, I like it! Last week I serviced my 2008 Dyna Low Rider, New fuel filters in the tank. I was struggling but it all came back together. Amsoil 20W- 50 in the engine. Amsoil Trans fluid and Amsoil Primary Fluid. Adjusted the clutch and cable assembly. K & N Air filter cleaned and re-oiled. Now I can ride it like I want to! Keeping an eye in the mirrors of course for the Man. HaHa.

Great to hear you had a good time taking care of your ride, it broadens the pride of ownership over those who just buy and ride. Take care and ride safe.
If you don't mind me saying Del at the end. It looked like the head of a cobra. Very nice result indeed. And I must say a hats off to Penny for the awesome camera work once again, this time getting some really nice close ups of the actual welds being laid down. Well done, the both of you x The Kingdom of God suffers violence and the violent take hold of it. A Aramaic idium meaning it it's in your face. Deal with it ☺️

True and wise words Marc, just a little thought for the day, thank you for your kind support as always, D&Px
Like another viewer mentioned.....laying down a bead like a stack of dimes. Not sure if that is a U.S. term only. I guess you would have to substitute a coin in local currency. 😁 The pieces fit perfectly Del and no purple fingernails. I'd say that's a win-win on the English wheel. Props to Penny for getting such great shots of the welding. Except for the fumes it was just like being right at the shop with you. Cheers to you both. ❤👍👍

Thanks so much Rick, Im glad you approve, and yeah, i think 'Stack of pennies' works here, if a bit untidy maybe, i focus on penetration before looks, so they always need a little grinding, but then there's always a lot of snobbery about welding aye.. Take care and enjoy your week, always good to hear from you.. D&Pxx
8:30 you have the position where it starts to look like a hooded cobra in the ready to strike pose! Great work Del and nice design, cheers mate!
