I'm trying to like it. I'll wait for the finished product.
It's coming along Del, I had a thought of splitting the first bent tube along it's length when you were fabricating and using one half each side. But that's irrelevant because you've halved the tube weight anyway and got it to squat nearer the tank. So win win ! 👍✌️❤️
Keeps the origional theme with a custom vibe. I look forward to seing the finished artical.👍👍
Hi Delboy, thought about you yesterday when I was at the HD dealership. I was telling some friends about your project as we were looking at a streetbob. We all agreed how ugly that tank is that they started using several years ago. We figured that they saved a good amount of money switching to that newer tank. Can't wait to see yours when finished. It reminds me of the earlier models. One of my friends said that he thought about buying a new streetbob but that tank was a deal breaker for him. Have a great weekend. Best regards, Frank from Florida.

You are right in every way, the 12 litre tank is useless, certainly in terms of tank range... seems they didn't learn any lessons as the 48 has the same issue. but the price of a Street Bob makes the conversion worth while, even with the hefty price of a tank and pump..
Hi Penny and Del - great video. A very nice culmination of a lot of work! Look forward to seeing part 5 of 4 :). Take care, dear friends. Be well, ride safe and enjoy the weekend.

Glad you enjoyed it mate, the tank swap will make a huge different to both looks and practical fuel range.. looking forward to the paint shop day.
I'm interested where's this going? Is this just a tank decoration, or it will have some function, like to attach some tiny clock/tacho device, or some kind of pouch etc...

Hiyas Del, I'm assuming, because it wasn't shown, that you painted the underside of the console too? Does Penny know youre painting on her curtains 😆
Respect your patience and steady hand to achieve those stellar results. Splitting those tubes in half was a monster job. Not for the faint of heart as the saying goes. I can only imagine there was a fair amount of shop clean up after so many hours of sparks and dust flying. Your efforts are much appreciated sir. Blessings to you and Penny. ❤👍👍

Thank you so much for your kind words Rick, you're right, it was a little dusty afterwards, but i cover the shiny bikes up so it's just a sweep round at the end.. Take cvare and stay safe.. D&Pxx
Very nice!
Harley's banana boat ;-) Thanks for sharing, Günter/Nürnberg PS: Not metal work fpor me today. Was trying with a friend to fit a new clip lock to the new Transalp O-ring chain. We thought it was too flimsy, gotta get a new rivet lock instead tomorrow. A biker's work is never done.
Beautiful job
The sound of the taping bit with the tape pulls was just so satisfying..... Your freehand line drawing is just out of this world.... I cant even do a straight line with a ruler..... I was thinking it is a bit long... it comes off the bottom of the tank... I was thinking a certain part of men's anatomy might get caught.... It happened to me when I test rode an Indian Chief (Future Video)... It was not PLEASANT to say the least.... And then you thankfully cut it back but it might have still have needed a bit more cut off... If you do need to cut more off you should update us on that.... Another great video.... I think you should really think about the overhang at the bottom end of the tank..... Try it on the bike sit on the bike slide yourself as far forward on the seat as you can.... I think you should really do it. I think there could be an issue if you don't test for that.....

Hi mate, great to hear from you... on this particular Harley, as on many, I have a Badlander touring seat and it extends up over the bottom 3" of the tank, so it'll be tucked neatly out of harms way with the front tongue of the seat up on top of it!

Hi Del & Penny, Nice video. Coming along nicely mate, looking forward to seeing it finished. Hope you are both well and starting to get some spring weather over there, we are two weeks out from winter and still getting 27-29C days, happy days. But we do need some rain, it's getting pretty dry over here. Have a great weekend and take care. Cheers

I hava see it’s done before I pass judgement…. Certainly gonna be different. But … that’s skillfully good work. Have good weekend you and Penny.
Looking good mate! Hopefully the spring weather is getting nicer for you. Any chance we get to see some riding videos of the sportster soon? I'm sure you could use a 360 camera to catch all the heads turning while you ride thru town. 😎🤙🏽

This bike needs a wheelie good band name - makes for an eye-Ker-ching first album cover too - 'Twin-Tanks Del & the Steel Bananas!' . . . (Yeah, I know, I know, - you can thank me later : )xx

That's not a steel banana. That's a Lemon Tube Snake! :)
nice to see you cross the finish line on this one. Was also glad you chopped the height of the profile down, i think it suits the proportion of the tank far better. Have a great weekend.

As usual there Monkey boy, your vision on projects and how you’ve take raw materials and pieces and has turned them into something special. Well done mate. Keep tossing out these great projects! Cheers mate and also wanted to give you and Penny a warm hello.. Most of, thanks to your Spurs lot for your recent results for my Blues.
I can almost hear a collective "OOoohhhhh!!! THAT's what he had in mind!" when you slimmed her right down! :) I cheated and looked into my Crystal Ball, so I already knew you were headed down this path, so no surprise here... As always, I am really jealous of your "Quik-Change grinding disk abilities. I tried it and snapped and snapped til my fingers were sore, but no such luck! Can't wait to see it finished! The last shot in primer with the light at the right angle sure made the different steps you stacked up really Pop! Lookin' great!
