In the early 1980's, an uncle gifted me his old Bosch jigsaw that I still have today, for anything made from 3mm to 5mm aluminium or mild steel it is still my go to tool.
I love designs like this that look fast standing still. This bracket looks much faster than the old bracket! Probably added 10 visual horsepower! :)

I knoew I could rely on you to get the point Tommy, many criticisms, but there always will be! The point was to follow the rackish lines of the tail and make the bracket look slanted and angular... as Matt Hotch would say 'it's all about the lines'!
Looks nice, kind of thought you were going to radius those angles. Can hardly wait to see it all dressed up, cheers!
Nice! You're spring tools have been getting a workout lately. Sure makes center punching quick and easy, eh?
fantastic bit of workmanship
In a nutshell a cracking result! Well I've ordered a new coil and my insurance runs out in three days so hoping it arrives then its over for mot to prove its roadworthiness, as it was already a cat n when I used it before. If it wasn't for this channel I would find it hard to get the necessary skills and commonsense ways around difficult jobs! Love the bracket Del looks like something Henry Moore would be proud of!

I have to ask, why all the drilled holes, when you used the grinding disc to cut the center section,and didn,t touch the holes?
@Goldwing1500rider
2 ай бұрын
Quick and easy way to cut out and file down without dealing with internal 45 degree round cut with disc. I would done the same.
@Moonfleet41
2 ай бұрын
I did cut through the holes on the sides initally, but then found there was room to get the disc in... but as you saw I did need the holes at the narrow ends, which is why I had to file them out...
Top bracketeering, fabrication and fettling - you could lean the bike on it .... Nice job Del!

Thanks mate 👍, fit for purpose aye !
Mad skills on the angle grinder, as always. I wish I could cut a straight line like that without jumping all around.
@Moonfleet41
2 ай бұрын
With the grinder, there's an old catch phrase 'let the disc do the cutting' and it means, don't force it in to the metal, it'll always try to jump and climb out of the cut, but if you just lay the weight of the grinder gently in to the cut and be patient, it will not only slice it's way through smoothly, but your discs will last longer as well... it's all about the practice mate!
I love watching your builds! I can't wait to see what you have planned for the headlight and such!

Nice work! If you clamp a Vise-Grip (or use a heavy magnet) on your work while you're filing on it, it won't "screech" so much. 👍
Good job that bullet isn't live!🤣
Lovely job Del, enjoyed watching it from start to finish, hi to PP 👍x

Fascinating, the huge visible changes to plate steel brackets from the previous tubular/rods look, it's amazing the simple changing of a humble bracket dimension can alter a look so much! Loved the old one, love the new one too.

Sorryt again, Not sure why, as you know it's happened before, i have no control over the system, it's loaded up open to captions, but sometimes i think the algorythms don't pick it up..!

I dunno what KZread up to but the action and story was easy to figure out. I just simply use common sense what I see. 🤷🏼♂️
Nice! Del, how much do you weight? That new tail makes the old busa look taller than before, but is it just visual, does it sag under your weight when you sit on the bike?
@Moonfleet41
2 ай бұрын
The back is lifted, i covered it in a recent video, just enough to get the stance right, Im not heavy, but the bike has the required sag as the rear suspension is standard spring and damping rate !
steel plate is very heavy, i would make from aluminium. 😉

Thanks, you too mate, glad you approve, and not long now till we have some half decent riding weather i reckon..!
Now i am not criticising here not at all ,I can't your work is great and have followed your channel from the start ,and that hanger will do the job just fine and nobody will probably notice it, but to me it just looks a bit clunky especially the fixings at the sub frame ,the bar stock one you made for the first one ,for me would look far better just cleaner if you know what I mean Hope I have not offended ,its just my opinion
VG thanks
Nice ✌️
Always a pleasure to watch, good job love it.

Always worth a full-envelope test ride with new flat or 'plate' bracketry, just to check for any unwanted harmonics. Had fun with similar brackets on a Motodd Laverda once (rubber mounted 1200 with a stainless 3 into 1) - it fractured everything we put near it! Ended up with two S shaped 'scrolls' in 3/8 round mild steel with suitably squashed ends - worked well, the endcan stayed put without too much flapping - until the collector broke up & a front pipe fell off. If yours does get the 'shakes', try running a weld down the back of one leg to help damp things out. (Failing that, just go see a doctor about that rather nasty new burn down the back of your leg : )xx
That looks better than the one that came off pal.good and strong
