    Alright, Sir. I am in the market as it were and your video came up. I know it's an oldie but these things never really die when good bikes last as long as they do. I'm on a 08 vstrom 650 and I feel the need for something....more. For one at 13kms and about 6k, would you still consider this a good option? I am not entirely up on all the bikes out there but this one tickles a certain fancy. Any thoughts? Thanks so much from Edmonton. Go Oilers!

    Good review, I have exact same machine. Only one point I'd disagree on. Too be honest I think it should NOT have the capacity to turn it on via a phone from remote location. Many people put a few bits of kit in there smoker, equipment bits, it's cold, your done, put a few bits inside, cover it over. Just finishing work? Oh I'll turn the Treiger on, will be hot when I get home. It's so easy to leave something inside, totally forget. Hence I think it's vital "you are there on site" to turn it on. I have mine linked to my phone mine is also linked to my neighbours phone. Pak, do me a favour, nip into my garden turn my Traeger on. It's no great hardship. Different point of view that's all. Once again great review. Personally I think it's worth the m on eh to buy the higher grade insulated option. I get next to zero temperature fluctuation. Next to zero! Regards

    I’m 174 cm and 74kg and the ergonomics are spot on, a very comfy bike. The powerful motor is fantastic and has a lot of character with an induction roar like a banshee, The worst thing is the rear shock, it’s far too stiff for my weight. There should be a handlebar mounted switch to toggle between the different info on the dash. The front end gets a little bit twitchy when you let the motor rip.

    I purchased my 2014 Valkyrie new. Amazing piece of machinery, engineering and comfort. I never felt unsafe, wet or dry, extremely capable antilock brakes and power up the wazoo. I sold it to a retired test pilot. I never used 1st gear, it was too low. I put his back out pulling a wheelie on the test ride. He told ne he hasn't felt those gas since he retired. I am sad I sold it, it was #0000006 off the line. Hondas for ever.

    4:14 There really is more to be said about windshields. The fact that they relieve pressure on the neck and shoulders while driving on the highway and prevent the body from cooling down certainly contributes to driving comfort. But windshields undeniably cause turbulence. Driving in clean air is indeed less noisy than in turbulence - but the most silent is being in no air flow at all. So turbulence itself is not the problem, it's turbulence around the helmet. The solution in my opinion is not to get rid of your shield, but to find one that minimizes turbulence around your helmet. That may be a bit of a search and it's good to realise there is no perfect solution. In the end it comes down to what's the best compromise.

    I have a black 2014 myself. It came with a full size windshield which doesn't look the greatest, and I hated it upon delivery, but now I wouldn't be without it. Keeps the bugs off me and reduces turbulence on long rides. And it's a monster. People have NO idea how fast it is. Honda should have put a 6th gear on this bike and that's one of the most frequently made complaints about the bike. Many don't like the quietness of this bike, but I do. I think it has a perfect exhaust note. If you want noise, buy a Harley. Think I spotted an F6B there at the end!

    is 20.000 - 30.000km considered a lot of km's? i'm looking to buy one of these as my first bike (used) and for a car 30.000km is nothing but i have no knowledge about bike mileage

  • @mrshadeshady
    @mrshadeshady6 ай бұрын

    I don’t think 30,000kms for a bike is a lot. He’s Canadian like myself, most of us ride for pure pleasure maybe 6months a year (due to winter) so the mileage is low. If you look at England, some guys ride year round and will put 100,000 miles (160,000 kms) on a bike before it’s retired.

    I've had my 2015 FJ09 for 7 years and 80,000 K+. I did have the engine rebuilt early this year, my fault for a mistake adjusting the valves. I considered the Tracer 9 GT+, but my 2015 already has all the upgrades. suspension, seat, windshield, ECU, brakes and exhaust. Other than ABS and traction control, it's all manual and I wouldn't change a thing. I daily commute on it, but have also taken it on some long trips. Yours is the best video of its kind I've seen.

    Great video, I’m originally from BC, now living in the Ottawa Valley. I just got a 2022 Tracer 9 GT, I guess the next generation. Not a bad bike, I just got off a big touring bike, 2014 Kawasaki Vaquero, wasn’t quite my style of bike. The tracer is the best of both worlds sporty and bags for commuting and touring. I will have to check out Northern Ontario on the bike, I’ve driven it and it was beautiful but I was rushed. Thanks for the video, Canada has some great sites, huge distances lol.

    I bought the slim. I put it in my helmet not expecting much. Well at first I was disappointed. Until I put the spacers in and experimented then I feel I have something. Louder than my 150$ earbuds that is used by musicians and audiophiles. There is base. So is it good 👍 yes it is. So your review here in this video i feel is not accurate. Not sure what you were thinking this day or your setup but it is pretty stellar. Could it be better, sure! Is it worthy of JBL name - yes.

    Just wanted to know you had it right with the tires being the cause of the shaking. Impresive hindsight given you only rode it for a little bit, it shows you have great experience. I have a 500 and looking to upgrade, as a "modern" cruiser buyer for me this bike has appeal because I am not much of a HD and Indian culture fan, I am not into old biker chrome everywhere stuff, but I do like the look of cruisers, and this has it with a more modern bobber flavor to it. I guess we cruiser buyers or at least me, choose this types of bikes knowing full well that sport bikes are sportier and sport touring bikes are better at touring but we choose cruisers for the look and the flair, lets face it, must of us bikers have bikes as toys and we appreciate them and we buy things we are attracted to. Anyhow, I do agree it would be great if we started getting better tech and capabilities on cruisers, we do need better standards, theres expensive cruisers without ABS which is crazy, I think Honda did good here shaking things up a bit in the class
