    I know this is an old post now so don't know if anyone has commented on it but the "flyers" you are getting - other than if it was a cold bore shot, is probably due to change of bullet lube. If you go from a parafin wax type to an oil based type you might want a round or three befoe it settles back down.. wish we could get this sort of assortment here in the UK, its abismal here. The gun trade should be ashamed of themselves.

    back then not really but the more i learned about it yes. going from like ammo from lets say sk std plus to cx you won't need many maybe ~5 since they're pretty similar but going from a non coated bullet to something like cx you're gonna want ~10-15 fouling rounds yes.

    You did not run your ballistics program properly. You have tripled the group sizes. The measurements given are what they would be at 150 yards. The 4.90 you reference on the first target is clearly a 1.5" group. The Lapua Center-X target has two .5" groups that you have at 1.46 and 1.52. It is not just these three groups but those are obvious for anyone to see. Not a CZ "fanboy" and even if you measured them properly they still suck.

    What makes ammo get good groups is the fit to the barrel, imparting the twist by proper fit from the lands and grooves stabilizing the bullet in flight . This is why some ammo seems to work better than others in certain barrels for no reason, it has to do with the fit of a particular ammo . If the bullet is a little loose it doesn't get the right amount of twist to stabilize in flight , this is why a Guy will say " I only run a certain brand and type of ammo in my rifle. Check Each bullet width with a gauge to see what variation are present and which are more accurate in your rifle.

    I just bought the RPR. I have not even shot it and have already put the Shaw 20" on it which was the plan from the start. The fit on my barrel is snug but not tight and in fact just like the factory barrel. I did notice that before I installed the barrel I fitted some round into the chamber and the 40 grain bulk ammos were tighter in the barrel to the point that I wouldnt push them in. The 36 grain could not only go all the way in but I could get them out with ease. Im looking forward to shooting it this week. Great video! I do like to watch people shoot but your choice to show the targets was great because of how you had it organized.

  • @coreyd1474
    @coreyd14744 ай бұрын

    when you say couldn't get them all in, do you mean the rifle wouldn't go in to battery? or it just wasn't pressing the bullet against the lands and grooves? after all the experiences i've had with prefit barrels have been nothing but negative i am not a fan.

  • @mlone7
    @mlone74 ай бұрын

    @1474 I mean that the 40gr were pressing against the land and grooves. The 36gr Federals I could put in, all the way, and eject them without pulling the lead out of the bullet. I have shot it since then. I havent shot any high dollar rounds through it yet. I shot Aguila, Federal, CCI Blazer, Rem Thunderbolt, Rem Golden boy, Wolf match, and some 40yr old Winchester Wildcat. It shot them all good except the rem gold boy. By good I mean less than MOA. I'm sure that it would probably do 1/2 MOA with good ammo. Some of the bullets went through the same hole so many times I thought I was missing the target. All this was at 50yds. I'm going to try 100 this next week. I also have some CCI standard and Norma tac coming in to try.

Here we can not get the ammo you can but using what I can get it seems to shoot tighter groups. at 50yd. and amazing at 30 and 40. where I mostly shoot. Using CCI standard can completely cover a five shot group with a dime, (5/16" center to center) on a good day. And have shot five groups of five all under 1" in one sitting. Would like to see some one who is a better shot, shoot the Mark II and think they can improve on this. At 75 not the eyes I use to be. As soon as the weather warms up, going to try to get out and shoot a lot more, hoping to improve and get all groups close to or under 3/8".
