I enjoy being creative in my home work shop. I like working with wood and steel, making projects that come to mind and off my sketch pad. I post videos to gauge feed back and to hopefully inspire the maker in you. It is extremely satisfying when you finish a project and people ask where did you get that. I make stuff that will last and last. Aren't we all feed up with buying garbage from the "Big Box Store" that falls apart and breaks after a short while? If you are reading this far, you must be a maker or a maker in the making, that's terrific. We are all at different levels of skill and knowledge, but we are having a go at doing something that we love. All the best and I hope I hear from you and learn about your projects too.

That's fantastic value :) You and judy should be contestants on The Block
Cheers Peter! Yeah...nah ;)
What about security ? The place looks easy to break into
We have a lot of wild beasts around here that take care of thieves. We don't have much to steal!
👌🏻
The bathroom is beautiful, love the repurposed vanity. Lovely Nala, very bittersweet 🐾
Thanks again Jenni!
Im so sorry, that really is so sad. I dread that day with our dogo. Hold on to your wonderful memories with her. She brought so much joy to your lives and I loved it when she appeared in your videos. They become a huge part of our family 🐾💖
So true, thanks Jenni :)
How much USD?
Hey scott i notice you dont have a first flush on your downpipes to tank Do you filter on the outlet?
At this stage we have no first flush downpipes. Yes a filter on the outlet. We'll probably put in a more sophisticated filtration system in the future.
Building your units yourself, you know how it’s built and you’re building it yourself your preferred style. Country farm style sounds great. It’s not a race but a journey. Lovely to see the progress 👌
Thanks Jenni! Very happy (and relieved) they turned out well.
Well done guys thoroughly enjoyed watching your journey.
Thank you!!
Awesome work
Thank you!
Loved following you guys and your journey . am about to embark on my own journey up north Qld aswell to do the off grid thing. Congratulations and well done ! Inspiration for many !!
Thanks Nick. All the best for your building journey!
how can you not comment on such a well done job, ripper mate
Thank you!
How many square meters/feet?
48SQM
good idea with the staircase ... different , looks good
Thanks Geoffrey!
that's all one needs
gas oven is not OFF-GRID ........ solar electric stove would be better
Yes Electric would be good. We are getting there, going Off Grid.
That is the sleepiest puppy ever😊
But when she is a wake - Monster!
Good sound advice mate.
Cheers Mark!
Done really good, turned out great. Solar system is awesome so I'm looking into it more. Well done to you both. 👍
Thank you Jason!
Good to see a bloke who knows his place.
Nice 👍 Just curious, cos I’m looking for a similar solution, how you went with council. You mentioned that you sold your house so I’m guessing this is now your permanent residence - were there issues with council? Did you have to use a residential class frame or did you manage to just use a regular shed class? And have there been any problems with the lack of rails etc with the stairs? Not sure how chilled the regulations are up in FNQ, but there’s not much freedom down here in Victoria 😂. I’d love to do this, but it’s important to me for it to be properly permitted. Not trying to throw shade or cause trouble, just genuinely looking for options 😊 Btw, I looove your kitchen cabinets - I’m selfishly a tad disappointed that you made them yourself! Well done.
Thank you! The only advice I can give is to work with your local authorities, out side of that you carry all the risk.
@@ScottTurnerformeindustrious ok, thanks. Good luck, looks like a nice lifestyle you’ve made up there.

Good job...Scoot..👏👏👏
Thank you!
Always a pleasure to watch your videos mate. Congrats on finishing another stage of your plans. Kenny Townsville
G'day Kenny! Much appreciated mate - all the best!
Whoa, I need that, today.
Fantastic video, wow looks amazing! I don't expect a reply to a 4yr old video but if possible could you please tell me what paint you used and whether painting a logo can be done on an already waxed bag?
Thank you! I just used standard spray paint, perhaps fast dry enamel? I think any of the paints would work for this. If the bag is already waxed it may be worth testing first on a sample. The wax will made it had for the paint to bond.
@@ScottTurnerformeindustrious Amazing, thank you Scott for taking the time out of your day! Inspirational content. Have a nice weekend.
That would cost a lot more now.
Perhaps.
Wow Scott and Judy, this is a prime example of "Trust the Process". Has turned out beautiful!
Many thanks!
Your machine looks stunning! I also got a similar machine as a present. So I will be following your re-build shortly.
Thank you! I hope all goes well for your rebuild.
Sorry to ask, is this your full time home
excellent design
Very much appreciated John!
Great stuff guys, how high is you cottage to the apex, just trying to work out if you can stand up at the high point in loft, thanks for the vid...
We have about 1.52 m at the apex. I have to sloop over. Thank you.
Congratulations on a epic shed house! You guys are awesome! I look forward to seeing the outside area next stages take shape.
Thanks Ricko!
Hi what insulation brand/type did you use in this video?
Bradford Polyair for the shed foil/ foam liner and Bradford Gold Batts.
My goodness. I'm so sorry for your loss. The same thing happened, the same month to our family dog. Unbelievable. They are our family
Thank you for your message and we are sorry for your loss as well. Yes they are family, so true. All the best.
Both work from home, how bloody convenient, of course it works for you, get a real Fn job and see how that works for you, like comuting 2 hours in peak traffic just to get to work,of course it works for you in your pretend job.
Did that for 35 years. It's time for us to have a change. You do what works for you. If you are happy doing that, I'm happy for you.
@@ScottTurnerformeindustrious no scott im not happy at all, but sometimes the gravy train has left and your crap out of luck.
@@garybalasa3158 Well, Gary I hope you catch a break and things change for you for the better. I never count on luck. I work hard. I just finished building our house and workshop (all owner built, that's my work from home) and all our utilities we have done ourselves. There is no Gravy Train for us either, and it's the same for many people in these tough times.
Hey Scott if you got someone to erect it roughly how much would they have charged ? Cheers mate from WA
I don’t even know you but I’m still proud of you mate ! My wife and I will be doing the same process very soon and I’m crapping myself.. very similar sized shed…. If you want to fly over to W.A. and give me a hand I won’t say no !!!
:) Thanks Mate! YeahNah although it would be nice to see WA again. Haven't been there since 1988. Cheers Robert!
Well done, just fantastic!
Thanks!!
That’s a sweet little home Scott. 👍🏻
Thanks Damo! All the best mate.
Scott are there challenges insuring this as a house because its a shed?
Yes, though there are challenges insuring just about anything now days.
When I bought mine new about 15 years ago it was just under $1000 US, so even with shipping I guess you had a bargain? Externally it's almost identical to what you have even though yours is significantly older and 8,000 miles away Being in USA I got dual voltage motor, 115/230 single phase, three phase is rare as hens teeth in residential area's I never trusted the RPM chart (being red on chrome it was barely readable anyway) so I fitted a digital read out rev counter into the plastic front cover where nameplate used to be. Using a mix of EP 140 transmission oil and grease in bottom bearing I get an extra 50 rpm, really should change bearings and seal though as originals are a bit worn, noisy even after adjustment but work OK and the oil/grease mix leaks slightly after a week or two (easy to top up through the Morse removal slot, I have R-8 spindle)
Thank you for passing on your experience with your machine. It's amazing that you can get more rpm by changing the lubricant in the spindle bearings. I'd like to have the DRO, but maybe one day I suppose.
@@ScottTurnerformeindustrious Your right. I would like a DRO but couldn't justify spending as much or more than the mill/drill cost Now the cost has come down, I'm retired on a fixed income so DRO ain't happening any time soon. I fitted a rev counter, even after 25 years in USA I still have a problem calling it a tachometer'
That looks amazing! We need to do this in our shed too!
Thank you! It is working out very well for us so far. All the best for your build too.
Wife's a doll , your a lucky man 😁👍
Yes I agree.
Haha - great job on the place looks good- were Semi off Grid as well on Acerage .Need to finally disconnect from Town power and that's it ..i Won't miss the 1000dollar power bills
Any water tanks?? Need water. You must have a bio or septic tank. Solar with generator? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
I addressed all of those questions in the video. 3 water tanks, 55k Litres. Advanced Septic. Solar Power and Batteries yes.
you can never go wrong with art
Very nice job!!
Thanks!
Thank you Scott and Judy for sharing your adventure, its been really inspirational! Did you compare the pricing with a full kit home like Ibuild out of Victoria which include kitchens etc? Just curious as I am considering doing the same at some point. What is your trade experience? I have done a fair bit with my Dad years ago and more recently during a renovation. Would you do it again all things considered? Do you find travel to and from the house to be an obstacle. Love the bit about no utility bills. Who did you use for Solar? Thank you for the information on your water tank, and I love your breakdown of costs. Wish you both all the best with your adventure!!
Thanks for your kind words. No we didn't get any other house kit quotes. I have noted previously some basic prices and I thought I'd be able to it cheaper myself. I am qualified as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Mechanical, but I've been making stuff for years and have done a number of 'renos. I'd do it again if the need arose but my body is starting to feel it. Solar - all DIY - I have a video or two on that. Hope this helps. All the best.
Great film, great work, great house! Thank you!
Thank you!
That's a fantastic space you guys have created, so cozy and so rewarding to have done so much yourselves 🙂
Thank you Alex and Sarah! Yes it's a big relief and we are very happy with the little place. All the best for your builds!
