  A gaff honestly wouldn't be easier or safer for alligator gar. Securing the rope can be hard, but it offers the most control in the landing process.

  Dont put fish in your pack bait it will attract catfish. The rest of the recipe is good! i prefer to use creamcorn instead of whole corn though as sometimes a piece of corn will end up on your hook point.
